She could've easily died at any point in the 35mins they wasted. Disgraceful. To the OP's point, the disgusting irony is that cops are constantly executing ppl's non-aggressive dogs for no reason whatsoever. Including the pets of suspects, victims, & bystanders alike.

    As a teenager, I rode my bike into a dead end street and a pack of dogs from an auto collision place all ran out. Once caught my leg and dragged me off my bike. I was able to kick and get back to my feet using my bike as a shield. Some of the dogs were able to reach in and get my leg pant. Luckily a police officer was giving a car a ticket down the street. He saw and ran over with his gun cocked. Of course, the owners finally came out when the officer was there. All the dogs dispersed after the officer was pointing his gun at them and shouting. I'm grateful for that heroic police officer 30 years later today. Years later, another run in with two hostile pitbulls who escaped from their owner's yard. One lunged at me, while the other stayed on the side perimeter. I yelled NO! and shielded myself with my backpack. I was able to jump onto a metal fence at an apartment complex, right before the large pitbull missed biting. Once over the gate, both of them started growling and barking viciously. Had another similar experience in my sister's gated community. I got out of my car and walked over to my sister's complex, when I heard a dog growling at me from behind. There were two of them (deja vu), except these weren't pitbulls. I had nowhere to run so I just made friendly greeting sounds to try and relax them, and slowly walked away and not show fear. I heard growling behind me, and saw these two dogs start running ahead of me and away. I talked to my sister's neighbor and he said, "Oh those are my neighbor's dogs, sometimes they're able to open the sliding door. They're big dogs huh?" I replied Yep! Anyway, I don't like dogs and now I walk around with a surgical sharp buck knife, since I can't carry my firearm with me. If I get threatened for a fourth time, the dog(s) may get me finally, but they will get carved up in the process.

    I remember seeing this report, I was mortified. Since that very day I have been keeping you in my prayers as this news report really impacted me. While that horrific event can still scare you, I just want to say that a dog attack like that should never happen again, especially to someone else. On the bright side, I think about you and I pray for you every day and while it may take long, you will be healed. It is a true miracle that you are still alive to this day. You are blessed by God’s amazing grace and Jesus Christ is helping you heal as they are both working hard to restore you. Just as what Isaiah 41:10 in the Bible says "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." While there are surgeries and medical procedures that seem scary, remember that your doctors are skilled, professional, talented, and experienced. God and Jesus are also working with them as they help you heal. There are a lot of people that support you and everything is going to be okay even if it may not seem like it. You have amazing friends, family members, and supporters that really care for you.

      @beetlebob4675 Год назад +5

      These dogs, one of which WAS NOT A PITBULL, were rescues and were likely raised wrong. It's not the dog's fault. Pitbulls aren't this way if they're not RAISED this way. Applies to ANY dog. There's not much that can be done about lost causes that cannot be rehabilitated, but prohibition will not stop people from abusing animals. They already do, and it is already illegal. Prohibition never fixes a problem.
      Making any breed illegal lowers the chance that professionals can work with people to get ahead of this.

    • @thomasjohnson3841
      @thomasjohnson3841 Год назад +6

      @@beetlebob4675 First, I guarantee the pitbull did most of the damage and instigated it.
      Second, if it was just bad owners, pitbulls wouldnt be responsible for the majority of dog attacks and deaths despite being such a small population among other dog breeds. If it was just "bad owners" dog attack statistics would be spread out more evenly amongst other breeds.
      Face it, all dog breeds have bad owners, but there is only one in particular where bad training leads to someone having their face eaten or worse.

    • @gailboreham2431
      @gailboreham2431 Год назад

      Really?
      I knew a now deceased cat that bit me completely through my right wrist.
      It's teeth met in the middle of my flesh, and chipped my wrist bone.
      I am a pet and house sitter, with 30 years experience, yes thirty years.
      I had looked after Alex the cat many times before, without any problems.
      I was speaking to him gently, my exact words were
      "Here Alex, let Aunty Gail help you" which shows that I was obviously being gentle while picking him up.
      I only got him about ten centimeters off the floor when he attacked me viciously, all twenty claws, and every tooth that he could muster, sunk into my wrist, where he held on with his top and bottom teeth meeting together inside my wrist.
      It took a good ten minutes for me to convince him to let go with his teeth, and to pull his claws out of my hand, because every time I got one claw out, he would strengthen his grip with his teeth, and push the rest of his claws in deeper.
      When I did eventually get all of his hardware out of the flesh of my right hand and wrist, he immediately sunk the whole lot into my left hand and wrist. But this time I was able to grab him by his scruff before he did any very serious damage to my left hand.
      Even though I had powerful oral antibiotics within a few hours, an infection set into the bone, and despite good medical treatment, the infection was up to my elbow within a few days.
      That is when I was admitted to the local Government hospital, and put on intravenous antibiotics, and twelve hourly Morphine.
      I had an extremely high fever, and I was really very ill.
      After ten days I was discharged, with oral antibiotics. Those I think were about the fifth different lot of antibiotics. Not because I had been given the wrong ones before, just because of the severity of the infection.
      I couldn't even move my hand. At all. Not because of the pain. But because the infection and chipped bone had done so much damage.
      I did everything that the doctors and physiotherapists, and occupational therapists instructed me to do, but I didn't get better.
      I had to have my treasured thick, waist length hair cut to shoulder length, as I couldn't manage to even comb my own hair!
      The infection reintensified its efforts to kill me, or at least to make sure that I wouldn't ever be able to use my right hand again.
      I was admitted to the local Government hospital for the second time, and this time the Casualty doctor who had been on duty for over 36 hours, decided that, as I had been waiting in Casualty since yesterday early morning, and it was now 1am the next day, this would be a good time to take me into theater, slice my wrist open wide and deep, and find out what was going on in there, as there was speculation among the doctors, that if the condition of my hand didn't improve soon, I might loose my thumb.
      I said that the bone chip was causing the problem.
      No problem with what she proposed, after a month of numerous antibiotics, the only way to get rid of the infection, was to physically remove it.
      Which she did.
      At 1am.
      In a theater with a malfunctioning air conditioner, which was stuck permanently on 16°Celsius. In Winter.
      WITHOUT ANESTHETIC
      yes, you read that correctly
      NO ANESTHETIC.
      NOT EVEN A LOCAL ANESTHETIC.
      I asked for a local anesthetic.
      She said no.
      The cut was deep enough to see the bone.
      It had to be, because as I said, the bone chip was the source of the infection.
      Another ten days in the local Government hospital, again on intravenous antibiotics, and again with more to swallow for three weeks after I got home.
      For another six weeks, so that was now a total of fourteen weeks, I couldn't use my hand to do anything useful.
      The physiotherapist and occupational therapists were very pleased with the way I carried out their instructions, but it wasn't possible to actually use my hand yet in everyday life.
      As I was working in a Museum Library at the time, I HAD TO TEACH MYSELF TO WRITE WITH MY LEFT HAND!
      The wound took months to heal, with all sorts of complications, so eventually my boss paid out of her pocket for me to see her private GP, and a Wound Specialist Nursing Sister to whom I was referred by the GP.
      That was about five years ago, but I will never have a completely functional or reliable right hand, and I still have frequent pain in my wrist.
      Please Google, "domestic cat bites to humans", or something similar.
      Domestic cat bites can be very serious indeed!

How did she get the strength to survive? She seemed so calm in there from the footage. I would have been freaking out. Shes so brave. Those dog owners are evil monsters who need to be locked up.

      That's not child abuse. The dogs never showed aggression toward the family. They came from rescues that would never adopt out to a family if they thought they were a threat to anyone. If they did then the rescue is to blame. Jacqueline said that when she first met the dogs they did not act aggressive. Dogs can act differently when people come into their home without owners there. It is very fortunate that the dogs did not hurt their kids and unfortunate that this poor girl got attacked. I can tell you working in animal medicine and boarding facility that dogs can act very different when owners are not around or in a kennel vs out of a cage. It is no doubt that these dogs should have been put down and the owners should have at least apologized to her but I don't think that they had any idea that this would have happened. It happens with family dogs all the time that the dog suddenly snaps and hurts a child that previously had no aggression and was unprovoked. Certain breeds more then others but it does happen. She was a stranger entering their home while the owners were gone. It is a dogs instinct to protect their territory. Pet sitting can be dangerous due to these kind of dogs and situations. She did not deserve to have what happened to her but I don't think the owners purposely set her up for this to happen.

    That is horrifying. I'm relieved she's alive and feeling better. But wow. I don't understand why people won't classify certain dog breeds as wild animals. Seriously, how is that a cheetah or serval are wild animals while there being close to 0 reported attacks from them while pitbulls and other aggressive breeds have thousands of reported attacks and still get the "harmless pet treatment."

    • @rebel4466
      @rebel4466 9 месяцев назад

      Because it doesn't have anything to do with the breed. You can get any dog to be vicious. Also do you have any idea how many dogs of "dangerous breeds" aren't involved in anything in their lifetime?
      You simply just can't get any dog and train them like any other. They have needs and characteristics the humans in their life have to address.
      Wild animals are classified as such, because they're not domesticated and incapable of being domesticated to a large degree. Also your examples are cats... The number of reported incidents is just low, because you can't see them in your daily life a whole lot. If they were as common in neighborhoods as dogs are... Good luck

    I noticed in the interview you said that you had met the dogs a week prior to this happening, and I was curious if the owners were present? Im assuming they were, and if thats the case then I firmly believe that was difference in their behavior from the 1st meeting to the 1st sitting. I also believe they knew their animals had tendencies of agressive behavior before hand too. Any animal owner knows their animal well enough to say whether or not they bite, growl, or show different attitudes to strangers. Period. The fact that they were shelter animals also would add to this factor as well, especially if they had been abused in their past. I cant imagine what you have and are still going through! Not many people could do it let alone share it with the world! That takes extreme courage, and youve got that in spades! I know its going to be a long road but Im glad to see you have an awesome support system! That alone can make the difference in someomes life. Im sending lots of love and prayers your way!!❤

      and its just not true. your opinion is objectively wrong. The problem with those dogs is not that they came from a shelter. buying a dog from a breeder does not reduce your odds of this happening.
      German shepherds bite people all the time. its very much not just the ones from shelters that are biting and killing people. they are bred to chase and bite people. its quite common story for people to buy dogs like that and not know how to deal with it and them biting people and causing trouble.
      some shelters wont even take german shephards because they are so aggressive and neurotic. so whos really to blame? the shelters or the breeders? The freaking breeders.

    That sign on the door might have been a joke but you never put out signs about your dogs because it can hold you liable if something does happen. Never even put out a beware of dog sign even if it is just to deter criminals when your dog isn't aggressive. That sign will be used against you if something happens because it is stating you know you have a dangerous dog. Even if it is a warning for people's protection. We had a beware of dog sign out in front of a fake stone bulldog as a joke but I did own two dogs that were good dogs. Took it down because of that very reason.

      @@zonkerharris1144 What are you talking about. I am just making a statement that if you have any kind of sign out and it pertains to your dog that it can be used against you if something were to happen. People put out signs that don't even have dogs or security systems that indicate they do. You just have to be careful even if you are trying to be funny. That sign in their house was meant to be a joke. Most dogs bark and act kinda crazy when someone knocks or rings the door bell which would wake up a baby. If you ever had kids you know how bad it is to wake a sleeping baby. Now the lawyer is using that stupid sign against them. Just like a gun sign outside your house could do the same. People just need to be careful what signs they put outside their home joke or not.

      yeah i think they read a bit too much into the sign lol. it was likely intended as a joke and i don't think it implies that the owners believed the dogs were vicious, i've seen those kinds of signs for chihuahuas lmao. what it likely means is "my dogs will bark like absolute madmen if you ring the doorbell and it's fucking annoying as shit," which can even be true of extremely friendly dogs who just get excited at the prospect of company. literally every dog i've ever met goes nuts at the doorbell and none have been violent or aggressive in any way. the sign is just a very unfortunate coincidence
