On the 5th of Februrary in 2008, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the creator of the Transcendental Meditation technique, guru of the Beatles, Mia Farrow and Clint Eastwood, as well as the leader of the movement that came with it, died peacefully at the age of 90 in his residence in Vlodrop, Netherlands. He inspired millions of people, why his family, friends and followers held a big public cremation funeral, to honor their great guru for one last time.

I also made it from Europe to the moment of the funeral of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Allahabad. It was a challenge to get the information and by blessing, all went at the razors late edge well! To reach in time. Since I was blessed to practice the TM since 1972 and in 1977 the intern Siddhi program then in Germany! In Grage we walk guided by the transcendental field & in Mastery! In gratitude & respect!

His Ashram ( 84 cottages / International Meditation Academy ) in Rishikesh comes under the RAjagi National Park . Its protected wildlife Sanctuary and his Ahsram is being reclaimed Back by nature !!! That's the law of Nature !!!

Maharishi was a great teacher...never posing himself as anything other than a teacher of Vedic knowledge. Many, many people found and continue to find peace, bliss, dynamism and fulfillment from that knowledge: the meditation techniques and the intellectual understanding regarding evolution through the development of consciousness.
Again, agree with J Cohen. MMY never presented himself as a god or object of veneration. He offered a very simple technique that can enhance everyone’s life, no matter what their faith, not meant to compete with any religion but to complement religion.

These advanced techniques were gifts from Maharshi. I have practiced them for 45 years. It has been a blessing...a great, great blessing.
Agree with J Cohen. The siddhis are not advanced nonsense. They are an integral part of the program. Siddhas realize they are a means, not the end, as clearly laid out by Lord Patanjali. They are no more “advanced nonsense” than the advanced techniques of the initial mantra. How could any meditator NOT want all the knowledge that is possible to have.
