Sailor makes some beautiful colors. The Oku-Yama reminds me a lot of the Sailor Jentle Grenade. I liked their old line of Jentle ink which included the Apricot (and I do have a bottle or two). My favorite in that line was the Epinard.
Thank you Dave! Just found your channel; I was just given a bottle of Sailor Kin-Mokusei ink as a gift, and then realized that it must be the replacement for Apricot. Thank you for the extra info! This makes me want more Sailor inks, now. :-)
I could echo a previous comment about Granade! I’d love to see it beside Oku-Yama. And I’m glad I have that bottle. I love unusual bottles almost as much as the inks inside them! And whichever way you say A-pricot or AP-ricot is fine with me. Comprehension is easy either way.
Hi Dave! Glad you did these as there's been so much focus on the new Sailor Studio inks that the older ones have been forgotten! 😄 There are colours like Fuji-Sugata & Yamadori I've been curious about for a while. They dried to really lovely shades! Oh here we go...they're in the cart....🤦🏻♀️ Dave, you're really not helping my "I do not have an ink addiction. There's no such thing!" case here from the other day! 😂🤣😂 Will you be comparing any inks from the Sailor Manyo line?
It’s a downhill slalom from here 😅. If I can get hold of some of the Sailor Manyo line of inks, I’ll do a comparison but currently I don’t have any yet.
So is the Jentle colors still around or were they discontinued as in “don’t make this color anymore” I’m hoping I can find these colors under a new name. I use inks for illustrations mostly, there’s only one color I use for actually writing
The last two are my faves. The rest are too pale for me. I have yamadori but none of these others. The manyo and studio inks are nice but the number naming system makes it impossible to remember which color is which.
With creative accounting applied, I have 324 bottles of ink. Generally though it’s around 350 if I hadn’t decanted multiple smaller bottles and filled up larger empty bottles with that ink.
I once was below 100 and said there was no way I'd go above 100, then I went above 100 and said there is absolutely NO WAY I'm going over 200, then I was over 300 lol. So beware!
Sailor inks are the best! Yamadori is stunning. Shikiori Yonaga is another favorite of mine.
The fuji-sugata is available in cartridges. I have one in a Fude nib Sailor and it’s very nice for doodling flower petals 🌸
It’s a really beautiful colour.

Thank you for making these ink comparisons. They have been exceptionally helpful. Please keep them coming.

My pleasure 😊

Love Sailor's Inks!
I snagged a bottle of Apricot from Pen Chalet as soon as they announced the discontinuation. One of my favorite oranges of all time.
I'm lucky to have got 2 but it fueled my FOMO for then picking up as many bottles as I could of Kin-Mokusei when that was going end of life.

I think some of the Jentle colours were merged into the main Sailor range, for instance Kin-Mokusei but they are harder to find.
would you do a video about Venvstas Ink? There is not much info or reviews about them
Yes I can, although I only have one bottle of Venvstas at the moment.
No Jentle Miruai?

How many bottles of ink do you own Dave?

@@PenultimateDave wow. That’s a lot. I feel better now. I’m ‘only’ up to
about 120 bottles!
