  • RARE OLDIES SOUNDIES IN COLOR WITH MISS SARAH VAUGHAN ! Sarah Lois Vaughan (nicknamed "Sassy" and "The Divine One") (March 27, 1924 April 3, 1990) was an American jazz singer, described by Scott Yanow as having "one of the most wondrous voices of the 20th century". Sarah Vaughan was a three time Grammy Award winner. The National Endowment for the Arts bestowed upon her its highest honor in jazz, the NEA Jazz Masters Award in 1989. You can watch all my rare oldies soundies on : www.myspace.com/swingcocktail ! Many thanks , NICKY .

Isn't that comparing apples and oranges? They're both out of this world. Sarah's voice is like a deep Burgundy, Ella's is like sparkling Champagne. Sinatra's is like Stout, fitting for a "saloon singer." Who would give up any of them?

The greatest italian singer, Mina, said in an interview that she still has to pull herself together from the amazeness she felt the first time she heard ms Sarah Vaughan, legendary!!! Everything is perfection about Sassy's singing, her pure tone with dynamics from pianissimo (never voiceless like these modern whispering singers that try to croon confidentially) to forte without shouting, rasping or gasping just to show off a fake power, natural, juicy low notes to high notes in full head voice, never thin and childish, expression, musicianship, creativity, taste, the all package

If you like I have had, became friends with persons of many nationalities and colors, you know it's mainly governmental and religious propaganda that keeps people separated into groups; except for the class issue. I'm far from rich, just like my parents, but what really gets in my crawl is when someone gets jealous over what you have when you've worked hard to get where you are, plus atheist sorts that like to try to destroy our faith (NPR showcase them). I'm mainly white, and racist of any color are the scourges of society, welfare recipients that keep finding more loopholes to get over on the taxpayer, illegal aliens, and a huge number of U.S. politicians and their lobbyist are the enemies of the U.S. People.

If I was ever asked who were my singing idols, I would answer that Ella Fitz, Barbra Streisand, Dinah Washington, and the the one who would stick out a little more would be Sarah Vaughan. Thank goodness for RUclips to have footage of her television appearances and catalog of song to help us keep her music and memories alive and the younger generation can realize what real music is truly about. I still miss her after these passing years since her death back in 1990. I know she's entertaining up in heaven. Still RIP.

From what I heard this was called a Snader which are early versions of Music Videos. Dick Clark showed one on an American Bandstand Anniversary TV Special. Peggy did one to Manana which means Tomorrow in Spanish. In The UK they would have Films courtesy of The Pathe Company where they would do Clips most notably of The Royal Family whether it was Queen Elizabeth or even King Hussein of Jordan.

this 'is the song' that was played in a scene in the 2017 TV series 'Feud' about the film acting battle of Bette Davis (Susan Surandon) and Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange). The scene consists of Joan taking a break in bathtub while smoking in her dressing trailer on the film set. Now, the film credits stated it was Ella Fitzgerald singing the radio song..but i'm sure it was Sarah Vaughan.
