Heifers looking really well and the bull looks to be just the job for heifers, a nice kind head and not too coarse at the shoulder. Everything that can knock a meadow is beating away up here today there won’t be a baler or wrapper idol in this country tomorrow. Just going to stir the slurry and make a start at covering the silage ground it’s not as if we are short of it and it’s not going to grow grass in the pit. I know we were later than usual getting the first cut but considering the spring we have had a massive crop averaged a bit over 10 bales to the acre and it was for the most part pretty good quality stuff all things considered it’s years like this that makes me glad I never use grass that heads out before the 8th of June, it allows for a bad spring. Regards from Wicklow.
Hi Graham ur doing great work, will you dna the calfs of them heffers or would you be happy with what you see , as in the bull covering or not covering. Grand quiet heffers to.
We are in the scep scheme so a certain percentage have to be genotyped, so we genotype them all as calves it’s handier as you don’t have to be getting them back in later on in the year when they give you the number’s to be genotype also there aren’t any mistakes on cards for sex which is an easy mistake to make
It fusion 2 one of the last of that model so basically a 3. You would need a minimum of 130 on level ground we pull it with n163 which boosts to 175hp and on hilly ground and all knives up would pull her down
It’s to work with the moo call heat detector there supposed to be collar on bull to detect when he serves but he has let it out over his head I hadn’t it tightened enough
Great videos Graham, keep it going 👍
Cheers mairead

It’s amazing how technology has changed down the years not an easy thing to manage for the older generation who wouldn’t be use to it
Ya it’s moving on fast but some systems are very easy to understand and get your head around even if you aren’t familiar with it
McHale fusion baler great baler what number is on it 1 2 or 3 & what hp is required to drive it as for the mower belt is there a number on it

Great baler, all McHale stuff is great . Very well built in my opinion.
Good video. What is the green tag on the heifers ear.
