@@MeerkatJac yea, but I also feel like it’d be out of place for the anniversary edition, this one looks similar to the first version of the droideka modernized and is paying homage to it.

how is the little droideka an issue? they’re only 6 ft in canon, and that’s probably the most accurate minifig scale build they’ve made. Maybe could have made the eyes more accurate with a claw piece
@@noturbusiness9736 The legs are different but it looks mostly the same to me. And I said the old Complete Saga, not the new Skywalker Saga, in case you’re thinking I meant that.
Agreed. It might not have looked the most movie-accurate, but as far as I'm aware it's the only minifig-scale droideka that can fold into a ball. (It's also very easy to build with spare parts you'd have lying around.)
fax lol - this has been my favorite droid (followed closely by super battle droid and commando) and Im slightly dissapointed at the lack of prequel sets and detail on figs. But alas, we pay for the brand name and not for the quality, even if prequel fans leave they don't care. They will still make more than enough money.
This and the Sith Infiltrator are probably the only two sets of the season that I really want. I normally don't go in on the big droid models, but this one looks so cool and it's a reasonable price in 2024 money
The build itself is really cool, it kind of brings me back to the aesthetic of the Star Wars technic figures from back in the day. The minifig scale one needs work though…
@@eightcoins4401yeah but I don’t know, I feel like they could have used ball joints or at least something that would allow the legs to rotate like a technic pin or something
The idea of the droideka was built by the Calacoid, a species in Star Wars that basically have this sorta techno cult that builds droids based off other creatures on their planet, like the vulture droids, tri droids, HMP gunships, buzz droids, and the droideka, based off their own physiology and appearance
When I saw this in the store it stopped me dead in my tracks! I had gotten the technic set when I was a kid and loved it, even though I missed a step or two and it never sprung open correctly lol
I miss my old 1999 version. It was Technics and used rubber bands to hold either “open ready to fire” or “ball ready to roll” position. It even had a release button so that if you rolled it, it would trigger unfolding at the right time and (most of the time) spring open perfectly.
I haven’t bought a Lego sat in a long time but I may have to get this one. I used to love these droids and had made some of my own out of legos when I was a kid.
i didnt know that the arms would go back and forth, i love that. the alternating firing/recoil on their blasters is very iconic in my mind and i love that that made it into this model.
I wish they'd payed more attension to the starfighter modes id have been cool to see them add reinforcements like the b-wing (rebel) tie defender(empire) belbalab-22 (cis) v-19 torrent(gar) mg-100 (resistence) tie dagger (FO) etc
I literally just bought this like 2 days ago along with General grievous’s personal ship at target. 😅. I seen the pd racing and speeder back chase of Endor diorama at target too, so I had to choose wisely.
You know what, I would so modify it to were there is a controller but get a load of this, it allows to have a firing nerf bullet system, and can transform into a ball to roll out and travel.
Honestly so gratefull i have set 7662 and the droideka minifig that came with it... thats probably the one ill be putting by the name plate of this set. Been craving a larger scale droideka like this for forever now 😍
I have it. It’s a great display piece even though the miniature is so goofy. I get they tried to make it with as few pieces as possible, but they could’ve used an older miniature design instead.
The minifig droideka could have been so much better. Either LEGO didn’t do their homework and watch several RUclips videos of moc builds or they did and didn’t want to give credit to whom it was due.
Its cool, but DAMN THE INTERCEPTOR LOOKS AMAZING. Imma try to convince my parents to let me buy the interceptor. Plus if its from lego it comes with a droid carrier during the May 4th deal.😊
The microbuild is ugly because they replicated the big version in minifigure scale instead of making it more playable, and for a decorztion set that is the best thing to do in my opinion
The price between this and the podracing diorama is so funny
Isn’t this cheaper?
@Bowl-tt8ec that's what's funny. The podracer set is like 2 polybags and some terrain.
@@logansmith2703 ah
It's crazy that one is 60$, looks like a MOC.

I love how it looks even more destroyed after the cut like he went back on purpose to destroy it more😭
I think he had to do it because it said it was not for sale, probably hinting it's a preorder or premium? idk
It should come with some pieces to recreate its iconic deflector shield
The cost would get so much higher though

It's similiar to the classic Droideka. That's what makes it cool.
"Malnourished" is one of the attributes of everything that in-universe corporation built, so I won't blame that on Lego.
hunch back of notre dame ass droideka

the 1999 minifig scale droideka was perfect
60$ seems surprisingly affordable for that kind of set considering how bad Lego inflation has been lately

The only bad thing about the minifig scale droideka is the eyes. You can just modifiy those.
They already *had* a decent minifig scale Droideka . . . why reinvent the wheel?!?
Imagine building the drioidak and watching him
I had the og version of this back in 99 when I was a kid. I got it for my birthday.

The arms move like that because that’s how all the recoil for its blasters are always animated. A little shimmy
That shit is pretty dope. I hope Hot Toys makes these someday to go along with the B1 and B2 battle droids.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BOX.
$60 for that small thing is effing insane. Lego needs to bring it down a few notches.
The box ripped on the floor is so funny fsr
Such a great build!
I'll use the tiny for parts, the big boy looks cool though
I love this set a ton, although my only problem with it is that the legs aren’t bendable

I love how Lego designed it so it can dance that’s awsome
Need a mod with a purple transparent shield now and legs that actually roll up without disconnecting
Got it as a graduation present. I just built my own, accurate mini droideka. it is just a little bit shorter than a B1, can fold

The minifig size one is way better than the derpy ball ones they made forever. Those things barely looked like droidekas
The shooting part is cool
2002 produced the only minifig droideka to look anything like a droideka. Everyone made after they messed up

The technic droid from 20 years ago was the best
Lego NEEDS to start putting droidekas in sets again, I know this one kinda sucks, but at least it’s something.
When this is 20% off on amazon I will consider it (it definitely will be 20% at some point, because that's a more realistic value)
I was fully expecting the problem to be that it’s coming out may 1st and not may 4th or 5th

I think the minifig scale one just needs better legs
The arms are also screwy if you take a closer look.
"this droid will be coming out on May 1st" My local Walmart already got this on the shelf earlier.

They need to make one that deploys on rolling.
