4 March 1653 - Battle of Leghorn - 5 ships captured or sunk
    2 August 1665 - Battle of Vågen
1-4 June 1666 - Four Days' Battle - 10 ships lost with upwards of 4,500 killed and wounded
    2-5 September 1666 - Burning of London
9-14 June 1667 - Raid on Medway - Dutch raid, ends with loss of 13 English ships
    28 May 1672 - Battle of Solebay

The US gave a lot of stuff to the Dutch Marines and Army. Uncle Sugar gave them training and equipment. During my time stationed in Germany I loved going to Amsterdam. I found less American soldiers there and mingled with the locals and had a great time. The Dutch were very friendly and not hostile to us visiting G.I.s unlike the British tourists who were rude to the Dutch like they owned the place. I never disrespected anyone where ever I was at. It's truly bad manners to do that. Would love to go back and visit Holland again.

Hier is sprake van het NEDERLANDSE korps mariniers?
Waarom is deze film niet in het Nederlands maar in het Engels?
Dat was in 1965 nog geheel anders !!!!!!

During WWII at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina: "The Dutch marines settled in Hadnot Point, an all-white camp. The American marines at Hadnot Point for whatever reason picked on and fought with the Dutch marines. Finally, the commanding officer had to move them (the Dutch) to Montford Point camp, a segregated camp for Blacks."

Good docu. Some very interesting film material, of an efficient fighting force. Giving away the Dutch-Indies was a mistake, in my opinion. Giving away New-Guinea was one of the worst. These were political decisions, and not military ones. It was the spirit of that time, the public opinion. The Dutch are builders of civilisation, hard workers and fearsome fighters. Their academic knowledge and engineering top of the world, just like that of the Germans. They have a sense of humour, and are excellent NATO partners. Respect.

I see that Dutch soldiers were also armed with early Israeli UZIs. Very smart when they saw a good design.

      Satya Hermawan
Punishment and rewards are things made by humans on earthly life, when your dead everything is gone, the brain shuts out and there is no system that can give any expression to things like feelings or so. Heaven and hell are created by religions like Judiasm and Christianity to put fear into humans so they can control them, and that's what religion does.
