Sarah Moon HonFRPS , previously known as Marielle Warin, is a French photographer. She came to prominence in the 1970s with her iconic Cacharel campaigns. Her ethereal and elegant images mingle reality and fiction, depicting a fantasy world where the bizarre and the poetic collide. Enhancing the dreamlike atmosphere of her photographies, Sarah Moon uses blur effects, subdued tones and unusual cropping. Melancholic and graceful, even sometimes with a touch of violence, of black magic, her work becomes almost abstract with its painterly qualities and her manner of making inanimate objects come to life and living creatures depicted so still.
