    Cool ideas. For those interested in distances per lane, I got them here:
    #1 (54'11" vs 54'10")
    #2 (61' vs 60'10")
    #3 (55'10 vs 57'8")
    #4(58'10 vs 60'9")
    #5(51'7" vs 53'6")
    #6 (58'5" vs 60'3")
    #7 (54'1" vs 56')
    #8 (58'7" vs 58'5")
    #9 (63'5" vs 63'7")
    If you do not have the digital system I highly recommend tracks 2, 8, and 9 due to how close lanes are, otherwise it would make it quite unfair to the racer on the exterior lanes. As example, track #4 has a difference between lanes of almost 2 feet! (close to 60cms). That's an extra 19'2" (6 meters) if you have a 10 lap race!

      Yes that is unfortunate. Maybe screen capture and zoom?
      Inventory I have to build these is:
      27 - standard straight (inc lane changes)
      1 - control terminal
      2 - 1/3 straight
      2 - 1/4 straight
      8 - 1/30 curve
      19 - 1/60 curve
      6 - 2/30 curve
      6 - 2/30 Banked curve
      2 - 4/15 curve
      Hope that helps.

    Try this for ideas. X switch with 2 curves at one end only pulling a single lane off. Use to create islands with 2 more switches . Max cops and robbers chase and outside loop for racing all loops.

    • @zoskinso3420
      @zoskinso3420  Год назад +1

      Thanks anton, I think basic Carrera track is the same for digital and evolution, I don't know of cheaper compatable track parts. Usually cheaper to find expansion packs that fit your needs and add single pieces as needed to complete layout. I designed several layouts and made an inventory of what I needed and shopped for deals when I started.

      Hi Mark, thanks for the nice comment. The parts list is:

      1/3 straight 2
      1/4 straight 2
      Power terminal 1
      1/30 curve 8 (could be 6 - 1/30 & 19 - 1/60 but the list is what I had)
      1/60 curve 18
      2/30 (banked or not) 6
      4/15 curve 2 (I got these at CincySlots, they sell single track pc. A pkg is 12 pc)

    If you don't mind, we're new to this.
    What are you using for the track supports in the center of some of the elevated track sections?
    Is there an app for the Carrera track designs? Thanks.

    • @zoskinso3420
      @zoskinso3420  Год назад

      Hi Suzukii,
      I make all my track supports out of MDF (fiberboard), scrap wood and styrofoam. You can see them in my video 'Carrera track shoulders, mods, jumpers' starting @ 2:01.
      There are several track design apps available. I use a free app I downloaded, Carrera Track Planner, it is not great but does work for my needs. Also visit the SmartRace website, at the bottom of the page is a link to many track design ideas. SmartRace is a race and timing management app (about $12.00) I highly recommend for Carrera.

    @zoskinso3420 - Thank you for doing this. I bought a D132 set during the Covid lockdowns but never had the room to keep a track up any longer than a few days. I now have the room for a permanent setup with limits but can build any of the plans you showed and I am stoked! Thank you su much, Im sure I am not the only grateful viewer. You replied to a comment indicating the track inventory. Did you build all those layouts with that inventory or was it for one plan in particular? Thanks in advance. - Nick

    • @zoskinso3420
      @zoskinso3420  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Nick. I think that track inventory will build all of these layouts. Adding 2 more 1/4 straights (4 total) should build the layouts thru #18. CarreraSlots.com, LEB Hobbies and Cincyslots.com are a good source for parts. CincySlots sells single pieces, handy because I didn't want to pay for 12 - 4/15 pc when I wanted 4. Thanks for the nice comment. Good luck with the layout and Have Fun.

    Hey I'm new to this, well new since 1986, I want to get started but in a 1/24 scale digital. Is there a set I can buy or you recommend that will give me wireless controllers as well? And should I buy multiple sets instead of a set and expansion packs?

      Sets are supposed to be available this month from Carreraslots.com & LEBhobbies.com, 124 sets w/ wireless. Two sets is great but with the cost of 124 sets expansion pks may be more economical.

    • @zoskinso3420
      @zoskinso3420  3 года назад

      Layouts should work fine. Carrera Digital & analog tracks (132/124) are the same, difference is in control box and cars. Digital cars work on either, analog only work with analog control box. Old track looks compatable with newer track but I can't say for sure.

      Chief, Short answer is about $750 total to build these layouts.
      I started with a set w/digital controllers on sale for $269. Once I knew I liked it I designed a few tracks and figured out what I needed to build them and bought packaged parts & individual as needed. A consideration is if a great deal can be found (as I did) buy 2 sets (I didn't). 4 cars, 4 controllers, backup power terminal and power pack, less track to add.
      Hope that helps.
