Hey Captain, nice video. Me and the wife are heading that way after Easter. Looks like more fun than carp. We just retured from a cpl of days at Yorks. Got blown away but had a nice few days camping and drowning some bait.
Thanks! Definitely more fun than carp! Where did you stay on Yorkes? I planned this trip for autumn because of the normally more stable weather, but this year it has been very windy.
@@captainfrank01 we stayed at Wattle Bay down past Edithburgh. Nice spot right on the beach just about but very windy. Lots of weed so made fishing a chore.
Thanks, glad you liked it! A popper is a small lure usually fashioned from a piece of buoyant material with a hook set in it and a few feathers attached. It bobs around in the water above the baited hooks and is often taken by a second fish when one is hooked on the bait - or can be taken by fish in preference to the baited hooks as well! It is a good way of increasing your catch without having to bait a second hook all the time. If you look at the Port Lincoln video that I did on this same trip, you will get a better idea of just how effective they can be! Yes, I really like the Pool campsite and have caught good whiting and flathead off the beach a number of times in the past.
@@captainfrank01 Trumpeters Tommy And small baby bream. Can not wait to try and catch a Carp. I know where the 🌈 Trout are But haven't gone to give that a try yet freshwater fishing. M Lakes It's going to give that a go to catch some carp
Great Video, Ive actually caught a monster ray before! It was on a whiting and a massive stingray down at port Vincent came and it did the exact opposite of your stingray. I just was a dead weight. Ive actually got a video of it on my RUclips channel if you wanna have a look
Yes, I will have a look! I have always found that Eagle Rays fight a lot more than the big black rays, which as you say, are often just a huge dead weight. I've seen those local resident rays at Port Vincent, and they are just massive! Check out the size of the one I see in the next video!
Nice flathead, one of my favourite salt water fish. Certainly big enough for a feed. Great video Frank, looking forward to the next one. Cheers.
Thanks Glen, yes I love the flatties too, always get plenty on Kangaroo Island early in the New Year. The next video has some interesting features!

@@RGVJ21 Yes, know the area, fished it many times for mullet this time of year, but completely open to winds off the sea.
Excuse my dumbness, but what is a popper? great vid by the way. We stayed at the pool last year & got some nice whiting.
