The counterargument is that liquidity increases wont work if we are entering a slowdown, kinda counterintuitive. So far alts are horrible. BTC needs to get above 74 K, then maybe they can fly.
I think liquidity increases work no matter what but would simply be less effective if we had a recession. Although gambling trends up, and crypto tends to attract the gamblers.

Well right now most of the memecoin volume is on Solana and that would be Jupiter not Uniswap. But in general lots of tokens bought and sold during a bull so volume should be huge. UNI could be a decent play.
The memecoin hype came from a mini Solana bull cycle IMO. -SOL was oversold due to FTX collapse. This gave it room to run up and gain attention and traction -SOL took off causing the market to look for the beta plays on Solana that would benefit from the wealth effect created. -Solana at the time had almost nothing to bet on as far as alts and defi. So market skipped all the way to NFT's (my madlad went from $2k to $30k pretty rapidly) and memecoins. -Memecoins skyrocketing on Solana (due to SOL wealth effect) caused people to look around on other chains like Base and say if X Cat meme on Solana is huge, then Y Cat meme on Base could be huge (beta).
Depends on your definition. Some would loop ETH into alts, others would put ETH and BTC as separate. I'd put ETH, BTC into a class of their own. They are primary assets that cause the wealth effects that bleed down to alts.

I think I misunderstood your comment. Alts can go up with BTC going up as well and dominance can stay steady in theory. However in reality when BTC goes up everyone looks for beta plays they're far more reflexive than BTC leading to outsized attention and more people rotating in looking for beta to the beta, etc.
