We have 4 cars, a BRV, Vios, Spacegear and a Celerio. We've had our celerio for 4 years now, and I can honestly say it's money well spent. We call it our mini pick up truck because of the surprising amount of stuff we have fit into it, even surprising my friends with mirages/wigo's because most of the stuff we fit in it won't fit in theirs. We're planning to buy another car next year, so we'll have to let go of one of our current cars, but it definitely will not be the celerio, we'll have that baby for a long time.
I think the Spark is a looker. Considered it a long time ago but settled for a 7-seater. Any on this list is a great buy in my opinion. Thanks, Autodeal!
Where's the Suzuki Swift? It honestly feels like driving an original morris mini. Very light on its feet, peppy engine, and a satisfying notchy manual transmission makes it really fun to hoon around! All the while accomplishing 12kpl in the city and around 22kpl on the highway
@@corolla9545 I bought my GL mt for 710k including the dealership discount for cash. The higher end swift glx only comes with a cvt with mo manual option and that was a deal breaker for me. I believe that's the one that costs around 800k
The Spark and Picanto are really good underrated choices. While after-sales are not as good as others, the actual products themselves are surprisingly refined and very well built for the price. The other choices are also good enough, except for the overpriced Mirage which doesn't have any redeeming qualities.
It doesn’t matter which brand you choose as long as you have fun driving from Point A to Point B with it because at the end of the day, it IS your own HB. I own a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage GLS HB now going 50k miles. I recently modded the HB last year with Hard Race front and rear swat bars, Magnaflow muffler, Freemuff Headers, K&N cold air intake and a 9-drive Throttle Response Controller. Still running at 24km/L highway and 20km/L city driving despite the mods. Sure its not the best in terms of speed, ammenities and looks but I enjoy driving this HB everywhere I go.
i was lucky enough to acquire a BNEW mazda 2 for 700K albeit it was the 2018 v+ variant. we are over the moon with its looks, performance, efficiency & interior appointments.
The Spark remains underrated. Looks that can stand the test of time, plus a capable engine for its size and segment? Sales could do better because that car is rarely seen.
Our 2016 Spark has driven across North America twice Seattle, Wa to Ottawa, Canada and then going back. First drive was in spring and then in winter fully loaded with luggage. The car had no issues going up the mountains in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Washington and still had great furl economy.
Its been year now watching comparisons. Price, badge and what you can get are all the same. But because of the road condition sa lugar namin. We decide to get an spresso. Hoping it will have an a/t in the future. Yah it has a 0 rating sa safety, but I used a 90's sedan that doesn't have safety features like abs, air bags or even sensors. Even paul walker that has all the safety in his car + roll cage doesn't escape death. Kapag oras mo nalng tlaga oras mo na.
To be fair. The 0 safety rating is for the base model, not sold in the Philippines. The Philippine model has dual airbags, and seat belt pre-tensioners. Which should bump it up a couple of points, at least.
The mirage for me is the sexiest. But now, they only have the glx look(not projector headlamps) added spoiler, tail lights not LED, but has two toned mags. So with that my top pick now is the wigo.
Chevrolet spark dinadrive ko everyday for almost 2 years na, premium driving and fetures.
Nope, the suzuki s-presso is the cheapest (518kpeso)& has the highest ground clearance ,dub as mini crossover....among this category...though it comes only with the 5 speed manual..
@@theletterblacknote Yeah i got asked some random guy from India with the same car he has s-presso which is already automatic one..hope Ph suzuki would do the same..
My first choice would definitely be the S-Presso. Decent cabin space, and a ground clearance well suited to Philippine roads outside of the city. The price is incredibly competitive too.

It belongs to a higher segment, together with Yaris, City Hatch so on.
The swift is in a other league. Maybe comparable to a Yaris/ City.
As a 1st time car buyer, I'm torn between the Spark and the Brio RS. Though the Brio's ground clearance really worries me.
For the price, cheapest (518k) fuel efficiency consumption, practicality, ground clearance, small family car..
