@jewels8963 I was never completey free of sensations. When I did my interview with Yonit, I was about 90% free and I'm still in that 90ish range. I decided to stop in at the Steady Coach community for a month if you want to talk more there. It has a nominal fee.
This is brilliant thank you. I tend to struggle to relax due to the residual dizziness and pressure in my head. This is the only thing that keeps me calm. ❤
@@annabellelane7959 I hope you have a speedy recovery. I’m still suffering 10 months later but it’s getting better over time. The anxiety does settle over time also. Wishing you well 💕💕
I feel like you were talking to me personally every time I watch you you are truly a blessing to me and I'm sure many others. All I can say is thank you thank you for all the help and guidance that you have given me. You are truly a blessing to all of us.
This tracking exercise has been so good for me. This morning I concentrated on a strange pressure in my head and by the end if the session my ear which had been full and deaf improved dramatically. I feel so much more accepting of these weird and variable sensations . Much more in control, thanks .
I do feel anxious, scared when it comes back, in 3 secs I try to tell myself, it is safe, nothing to worry. I take a deep breath 3x try to relax /make it calm my scared mind
You’re giving me such hope. I’ve been struggling with anxiety from VM and Visual Vertigo. I have not lived to my potential because of these debilitating health issues. Are you telling me (after I binged watched your videos) that I can be CURED ? I am crying now with just thinking of living a normal life.
I did this today as i was feeling anxious about showering getting dressed and riding in car to PT. I noticed some shift after , got confidence to shower, talked myself thru the shower and suddenly the calm came. It ok if i have some symptoms im just observing them and they are temproary, i did breathing and redirected my thoughts to be in the moment during shower. Huge difference! My neck unlocked too!. Ive been sleepy since and ready for PT-physical therapy appt.
People like you should be awarded for the social awareness and help that you do. Especially about these issues that are rarely addressed. To all the warriors out there, don’t lose hope. Recovery is possible! Just don’t give up and sit back. Love from India 🇮🇳❤️
Tried this for the first time today. I was feeling very out of sorts at the start of my walk . Light headed snd generally unwell. Focused on s as ncious feelings in my abdomen. Feel much calmer now and the light headed feeling is still there but feels less threatening somehow , thsnks
Thanks for this! I had the weirdest thing happen -- I started focusing on the sensation of tightness and swelling around my throat that's been making me super anxious for the past few days, but after focusing on it for only a few minutes, it was replaced by a really intense tingling and heaviness across my chest! So I focused on that for awhile instead, and now, a few minutes after finishing the meditation, both sensations have quieted down a good bit. Did anyone else experience a major transition of sensations like this? 🤯
Hi Dr. Yonit, I’ve been experiencing dizziness for the past 9-10 months. The day after I discovered your channel about two weeks ago, I began to feel a new sensation of constant unsteadiness (feeling like I’m gonna fall over, motion sensitivity, my body feels heavy if I lean forwards backwards or sideways even slightly). It’s been really debilitating, hasn’t stopped since it’s started, and very difficult to stop thinking about. I was wondering if this is expected or if you think this is something to be worried about? Why do you think this is happening to me? Thank you so much for making these videos I’ve been gaining a lot of clarity from you.
Hi Julia - posting what I replied to your last comment, I am sorry you are experiencing this, it is not only common but actually expected for symptoms to change this way. Sometimes people start overfocusing on symptoms when they first find my channel and this can temporarily make things ramp up. Take some breathers away from dizziness content. The symptoms do not usually stay elevated.
I know most people with PPPD have the visual vertigo and swaying and dizziness that is more floaty, but have you encountered patients who have all of that as well as real vertigo attacks? My swaying has gotten a lot better and I’m able to tell myself it’s not a real issue with my brain, but have been getting vertigo attacks that last about 15-20 seconds followed by static in my ears for a few minutes, and those are a lot harder for me tell myself I’m safe and it’s all part of the process. Curious what you think!
Yes indeed. Technically vertigo is not part of PPPD but I think that’s an arbitrary distinction for many people. Vertigo does often have a physical cause like BPPV but not always. I see lots of people with “migraine” who have vertigo and recover using the same methods discussed here for PPPD.
Hi there, it’s recommended to do 1-2x a day if you’re still afraid of the symptoms. I have an upcoming video that explains a lot more about somatic tracking so stay tuned for that.
@@TheSteadyCoach thank you Dr Yo for your response. I’m 80% recovered from watching your channel. I just can’t sit at dining table and take a shower normally. Anyhow thank you for all you do for this community.
Thank you Dr. Yonit. I have wet smelly ear wax that affects my hearing in one ear. When I used Debrox cleaner it got a little better and it seems to have improved my dizziness. Is that possible or am I just imagining it. Thank you so much.
Dr Yonit. I have a question. You say that these exercises will quiet your dizziness symptoms, but when you have BPPV or vestibular migraine these are conditions caused by real physiological issues, with a migraine it's your brain and BPPV is the crystals in your ears (usually). So i understand using these techniques to quiet the anxiety and FFF response, but if you have a true medical condition how can you stop the dizziness or vertigo? I do understand neuroplasticity. So sometimes i can stop the anxiety cycle, but I'm still dizzy. And still find it hard to go about my day. Thank you so much for clearing this up for me 😊
Hi there, BPPV is truly a physical cause so yes you’re right, it will quiet the anxiety and not resolve the symptoms but make them more tolerable. It will also prevent the symptoms from becoming chronic. Migraine is different. Migraine by definition usually has no physical tissue cause. Yes, migraine produces physiologic changes in the brain but these are reversible and preventable. This video explains more about migraine. ruclips.net/video/CPE6rcDZQ0k/видео.htmlsi=8YCrHZEE1FXjaGkY
@the steady coach. I have a related question. I had complex BPPV in late summer into fall of 22. Took about six visits to clear it all out but I had PPPD too and also diagnosed VM. The thing is that over time the Primarily PPPD symptoms (which we’re getting better with exposure and confidence that the Crystals were gone) began to be replaced ( or added to) with VM. Now I pretty much have some type of VM every day! It just changes in intensity. My struggle with screens has gotten markedly worse too! Nobody has any explanation. Do you have any thoughts! Thanks
Great question, for this I would recommend the graded exposure exercise or somatic walking. You can also move around while you do this and ignore the instruction to be still. ruclips.net/p/PLFf7T0374CmAn9xRDFvUpcrwC1OZmMpHR
Hi Dr Yo, I am also wondering why my brain should be making prediction errors based from danger mode when I am still and not in other situations like walking? Are the prediction errors just completely random?
I find it hard to concentrate on a symptom I am not having at the time I am doing the exercise, at the start I try and focus on a symptom which is problematic but then I loose concentration.
Does this work for insomnia?? My dizziness and fuzzy head symptoms have come down a bit but now insomnia has become so bad - anxiety is so high now because of this 🙈🥲
“Work” for a symptom means you’re really scared of the symptom and that can be counterproductive. You want to try to avoid fighting it, just see if you can spend time with the insomnia and not fight it. I know that is incredibly hard.
Still appreciate this after the countless times I’ve done it. Simple. Powerful. Effective.
I’ve listened to your story, it gives me hope!! Are you still symptom free?

Ear wax does not cause dizziness. But having an ear clogged with wax can make you feel disoriented.

Find yourself a GOOD vestibular therapist and they can clear the crystals. It’s not very fun. But then you will likely have more confidence.
