There is a RUclipsr that fixes Parker 51s he shows a very detailed how-to. Look for Triumph Vintage Pens. Unfortunately he hasn’t updated is videos for years.
Nice work with the nib. What about using a bench hook to secure the nib block while you are working? Also, do you know if the vac-filler mechanism from a Wing Sung 601 would fit the Parker? After all, they are Parker clones. Thanks for the show. Cheers from Oz.
I will have to look into what a bench hook is. All a big learning process for me. And, unfortunately, I haven't really branched out into the asian FP market. If you get bold and try it, do share!
@@letstalkfountainpens8052 Woodworkers use bench hooks as stops to hold work without the bother of clamps; they are made of three pieces of wood, and look like a long 'S' with stubby top and bottom. As for Chinese pens I have found the Wing Sung 601 (Parker 51 clone) good value for money and it has a replaceable vac-filler unit. The Jinhao 51 and 51A (@ $3-$4) is astoundingly good quality. And you won't cry if you loose one. All the best for Christmas and the New Year.
I think it does but the blind cap of the Parker 51 will not fit onto the threads of the Wing Sung 601 filler unit. That’s what I’ve heard in discussions anyway. I’ve not tried it myself at all. Cheers
I like this pen
Very informative video. Thank you very much

@@ibpopp The vac mechanism of wing Sung 601 is incompatible with Parker 51. If you have tried altering it, please let us know
