Moss Side in the 90s was a no go area for the police - they pretty much gave up on it and left the inhabitants to their fates. I only went there a couple of times and the poverty and tension was palpable. I was in my early 20s and the place scared the shit out of me (everyone knew about Moss Side - the place that gave Manchester the nickname Gunchester) the idea of being a little kid in that place at that time is horrifying.
To me the beat evokes that same gritty dirtiness of the bass that you felt was kinda missing, the droning synth that plays around makes me screw my face just like a heavy baseline would, just thought I’d share my perspective the beat makes it even more fire imo 🔥🔥 Grime is just a different sound overall and there’s so much variety in the beat selection
