- This video shows my Saturday March 4th, 2024 morning cross country (nordic) skiing adventure of the Moore Park Ravine and Vale of Avoca Ravine in downtown Toronto. The video begins at the trail's entrance on Moore Ave just south of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, and ends on Avoca Ave, just north of David Balfour Park above the Rosehill Reservoir. These two ravines carry the Mud Creek and the Yellow Creek respectively, which are both tributaries of the Don River.

Thanks for watching.
Watched the whole video. It's so beautiful there.
Thanks.
Hi CJ, wonderful cross-country ski video through the ravines and they looked very picturesque with their snow blanket. That looked like a good workout and great information as usual. Best Wishes and keep well CJ.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Glad to see that you got to go cross country skiing this winter! That looks like a really nice trail for skiing, and also for biking or walking too!
Thanks! This was the one and only time I got to go skiing this winter. Better than none though!
@@cjhoyle For sure! Even though we had lots of snow this past winter, I didn't get out nearly as much as I would have liked to. Just saw this comment pop up while I was watching your most recent canoeing from Bolton to Toronto video!
I much enjoyed watching this video, thanks CJ.
Ironically, I was on the Heath St. Bridge with my dog today contemplating walking down into the Brickworks. Its a few days after the snowfall and the trails looked super compacted. I did not want to wipe out, so thanks for taking me there!
You can definitely notice the difference in accumulation from the bottom of the Don Valley to where you finished skiing. Pretty sure as you head on north, there was probably closer to 30cms of snow received. I feel like North York got much more of the white stuff than Downtown.
What a cool coincidence! My observation has been the same. The amount of snow that fell in my neighbourhood downtown was less than I saw up at Davisville where I started skiing.
Hi CJHoyle! Great to see you again with a Skiing Video! Johnny Strides was hoping to see a Skiing Video from you as well. I hope you can make more videos as well!
Thanks. Perhaps we'll get lucky and another dumping of snow will come along before spring.
Thanks CJ
Thanks.

haha underrated? RUclips doesn't want you to know this, but this video has 98.2% likes VS dislikes. I wouldn't call that underrated! :)
Hello! Great video. Thank you for sharing your adventure with all of us. Miss your regular video's. Glad your ok! ⛷🚴♂️🙂👍
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
Happy to see another video, CJ. I've been down this path so many time on a bike but not with so much snow. It looks beautiful. But it looks like the type of snow that sticks to the bottom of your skis. Now that it's snowed again I might just go for a walk down there. (I also used to bike right by the Brickworks before they developed it and it was just vacant buildings with a lot of graffiti).
Thanks. As I remember, the snow this day was really pretty, but not ideal conditions for skiing. But seeing as it was the only chance I had to go skiing this winter, I wasn't complaining!
Love the snow and ice on the trees.
:O i had my doubts we would ever see a cross country skiing video this year. Glad you were able to get out and enjoy the snow!
Thanks! I was quite pleased I was able to squeeze that adventure in.
Thanks for the video! I've been along those trails by bike, but only in the spring to autumn seasons. It's great to see them in the winter--they're just as beautiful.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
