Lasallian here. Thank you UP for giving us a great finals to remember and for the two of you for being gracious in defeat and appreciating what LS have also achieved. Really enjoyed this episode and I can certainly feel the raw emotion among UP fans at this point with the outcome of the game. I remember during my entire college days at LS where we lost in four straight finals appearances (eventually, we won four straight after that). Always the bridesmaid but never the bride as they say, yet we've kept the faith and showed our support year after year no matter what. All up since we joined UAAP we've come second best 8 times, so just imagine the scars, pains, highs and lows we've gone through the years lol. A finals loss will always sting but that's just what comes when you start performing at the highest levels and being among the best of the best. Agree, the competitiveness among all teams are very high in the recent years and the landscape has changed that now all schools are to be taken seriously, in every game. That is obviously great for us UAAP fans! Good luck and I really look forward to a resurgent and hungrier UP in the coming seasons. UP Fight!
D lang congrats sa DLSU also to the UP Maroons for giving UAAP fans a very good and exciting shows. Kudos to both teams. Ang galing nila both. Sometimes you Win, sometimes Talo. It is what it is, even if natalo DLSU sa game, feel ko panalo ung both teams.
I’m not from any of the UAAP schools but I watched all of the finals games. It seemed La Salle wanted it more. Sa rebounds pa lng, especially sa game 3, bukod kay Diouf, it was only Lopez who really went fighting for those rebounds. Everyone else seemed to be just wanting to shoot. Kaso, mdyo lumabas dn yung pagiging rookie nung Lopez nung game 3, the effort was there but, obviously, he wasn’t as composed. Mdyo overemphasized dn kc yung depth ng UP this season that a lot of people are forgetting that more than half the team is either a rookie or a sophomore. And then, yung mga expected na maaasahan some of them didn’t really show up. Cansino was taking bad shots and some bad decisions. Yung Alarcon, it seems, he’s not (yet) really the go to type. Ok sya before nung he was playing behind the starters, hnd sa kanya ang focus ng depensa ng kalaban e. Pero this season, he was the expected go to ng UP. I think, overall, mas intact kc ang core ng La Salle. Marami sa knila wlng finals experience pero mas veteran prn sila. Tapos, despite na tambak yung La Salle nung game 1, yung performance nung Mike Philips, drew so much attention and that relieved a lot of pressure from Quiambao come game 2 and 3. At naexposed dn tlga yung lack of heft and strength nung Diouf.
Mas masakit tong talo ngayong Season 86, kasi andun na tayo e. We were at the cusp of winning it all. Tapos, we had them nung Game 1! :9 oh well bawi nalang ulit next season.
For me mas masakit itong S86 kasi healthy lahat ng players. If you could recall, Zave Lucero got injured in Game 2 of the Finals in S85 so we had an excuse for losing that series vs. Ateneo. Pero this year, wala tayong excuse eh. Kaya napakasakit talaga para sa akin. 😢 Great job by the way, guys! UP FIGHT PA RIN!
ok lang yan, teams go thru growing pains on their way to becoming a dynasty, even DLSU went thru a series of bridesmaids finishes nung season 57-60 then bounced back to get the 4 peat nung seasons 61-64. With 3 consecutive finals appearance, UP has a legitimate shot of becoming a dynasty someday.
Through the decades, De La Salle is a totally different beast once they get to step into the finals. It may sound corny or foreign to other schools but thats what the ANIMO is all about really..That game 1 30 point blowout win actually did UP more bad than good, it simply awakened the beast. Baka nakabuti p kung nanalo ng maliit lng eh. Then come game 2 and the script was completely flipped, UP didn't know what hit them. That's when fear actually crept in...
Sj francis dapat maging leader next kasi consistent sya kakaiba potential nya actually sya lng bukod tangi maari makaagaw attention sa NBA or nba glegue dapat yung ibigay sa knya rule pang nba level na.Pwede gawing shooting or small forward si francis pang nba sana position nya at dapat mghire sila ng pang nba skillset para ky francis.Yun ang mas nakaka proud galing University of the Philippines nba draft tapos secound wow first homegrown filipino draft sa nba.Dahil nga po my connect kayo sa up coaching staff kahit sponsoran ni robina gokongwei magtraining si francis sa amerika para magamit sa season 87 tapos kung my probs sa us visa nya patulong sya ky jonvic remulla kc kapatid nya ay nasa doj si boying remulla.sana my nakapansin sa nba potential ni francis.physical appearance si francis pang nba yan skill set nlang i polish nya.The los angeles lakers draft second round 60 pick the first homegrown filipino from University Philippines 🇵🇭 diba kahit pinaka last ka.dapat my mindset yung UP na ganyan next season ibang lopez na yan yung stat nya maari ng domoble.
Francis has always had the physical profile of a great player but he lacked the experience and the skills. After kc ng highschool wla na yang nalaruan. May stint Sana sa states kaso nabulilyaso. Sa UP, in a year lang, he’s improved so much. Dati pag more than 1 dribble when he’s slashing, nawawala na yung power ng drive nya kc hnd pa sya comfortable sa handles nya. Ngayon he’s somewhat able to keep that strong drive even if he had to take more dribbles. He also seems to be comfortable making layups using his off hand. Tapos may pull up jumper na sya and then yung passing nya, Ganda na ng read nya. I hope he’ll stay for at least another year kc maganda development nya under coach Gold. Baka kng mag pro na agad baka mapunta pa sa team na hnd sya itatrato as a young player with high potential, bka masira diskarte
Re his playing position sa UP, I think it’s because of UP’s lack of depth sa four. May Gagate, Pablo at Belmonte pero mga hilaw pa. Saka mukng mas kumportable yung Belmonte sa labas. Etong Lopez, he had the physicality and the grit to battle it inside kaya sya nalagay dun. But, had Tamayo stayed with UP, Lopez would have been played as a SF
Congrats La Salle! 💚 Kudos to UP for putting up a good fight. There’s no shame in losing. Bilog ang bola. It could have gone to UP too. Cheers to both teams!

at least this is a better version of the podcast unlike the 1st which is full of arrogance -
Care to share how long you’ve been listening to our show po? 😊
ahhh yes, the better and more likeable duo.

Watched dis just now. Good commentary but I hope you'll find a more quiet place next time.
As a lasallian, weird din na wala si JD and CJ nung crunch time. Mas nakakatakot kasi kung si JD yung nag sset ng plays kasi high iq talaga siya.
