I held off for a longgg time too, but I think it makes a build so much more dynamic. There's ways to do it cheaply too if you're on a budget even which is nice! I've just used fairy light for my Minecraft world up until this point and they've worked awesome. It's a great way to dip your toes in and see if you like how it turns out.
I used to army-build those conquistadors back when they were around! I wanted them for my old Pirates sets. I probably have five or six sitting around; had no idea they were so rare nowadays.
Just binged this whole series so far, and I’m loving it! I do have a suggestion for when you eventually get back to working on the ship: rather than the black tiles on the border of the base, would it be possible to add a layer of trans blue tiles that slightly overhang the outer portion of the train track? I’m sure you could use some blue hinge plates to match the angles, and maybe it could provide some additional support for the boat to keep it from derailing. Either way, keep up the great work!!
Glad you've been liking the build so far! I may revisit the edge situation, yeah. I'll have to see what mechanism I come up with for the ship and how much space it'll need
Holy moly, It might just be because it’s been a bit but it just looks so much bigger and more epic. That conqustidor figure is lovely and I just love seeing a build like this. Also entirely unrelated but in Cheesey studios fashion, I bought the trans green frog 🤣. Was actually a pretty good deal, $14 new condition froggo from ground in floor plastic he’s still got one left 👀. Anywho great build and I can’t wait to see the future of this fabulous build, Wonderful Caleb ❤
It looks awesome, Caleb! I give it zee chef's kiss. Now you must build zee bowat. Definitely looking forward to what's next for this. It is a seriously beautiful moc.
I love legos! Have never tried a custom build but i have modded a few pre made sets. I dont think i have the guts to take apart my builds to make a custon one though so watching these is the next best thing.
Well, I'll always encourage the destroying of sets. You can always rebuild them if you change your mind after all! But I'm really glad you're enjoying this little series
I love your builds man! In fact I even made you as a minifigure! You need the Harry Potter head (erease the bolt scar thingy) and Han Solo's hair (Not that old weird polished lookin' thing but that newer curvy one.) I believe in you with the boat! You've got this!
That's awesome! I do love that hairpiece xD And thank you for believing in me. I'm hoping to start up on the boat again in the next few weeks! Got some more pieces for it over the weekend and feeling inspired.
I'm so in love with this build, always been a big fan of castles thanks to LEGO,can't wait to see this beauty of a moc finished and see a proper showing of it!
The cannon immediately made me think of the scene in Three Musketeers when they’re traveling by horse and get too close to a castle and start getting bombarded by cannon fire.
it keeps getting better and better, the lighting is a nice touch! btw i built that dune set, its amaizing. its became my favourite set i own, 2nd would be the tallneck from horizon. animal stealing food from one of the soldiers would look fun.
I think you should go with dark red for the palm trees( if it exists, I have vague memories of dark red palm tree leaf pieces), you could even give the dark sand color palm leaves beneath a few red palm leaves to make it look like old dead leaves, and the colors combo really nicely with you castle color scheme, while still popping
Ooh nice lights, coming along excitingly The trees with the arid cliffside if something I vibe with, the cliffiness aslo making me think maybe a birds nest would be nice
Thank you! I feel it's a setting that has not been explored very often in the castle community, and the brighter colors have just been so much fun to work with.
Yeah... In the future I'll try and be more ambitious with lighting though. It's just so fun to mess around with! Some slow pulsing blues in the water could have been sweet
So awesome, it keeps getting better and better. I'm really curious to see how the boat will turn out, now it looks a bit chunky compare to the skinny castle
Thank you! Yeah, that boat needs a lot of love yet. Since the mechanism on the inside has changed, I might be able to make it thinner now which is nice
Go for it! That'll be awesome. I can't remember if I said this already or not, but this is actually based off a Minecraft build I did last summer lol xD
Incredible looking castle. The lights help bring it to life. Agree that this is a special build and the knights kingdom figs would not work with this build.
120+ centimeters tall! Wow, that's crazy cool! I didn't imagine that in that tiny island a tall castle would be constructed XD XD As a Spanish native speaker from Central America, I approve the conquistadores populating the castle, hispanic for the win! XD XD For the next video (or maybe when it's finished) could you do close-ups to all the built interiors? I suppose there are only a few, but still it would be nice to see them n_n
It's hard to make normal light flicker without risking a house fire 😅 Edit: Holly shmokes, its very nice! Ngl I'm happy that you wanna change the grounds colour to green, that will pop nicely. Also, pro tip, if the highest tower is very very high (like, +15 / 20 cm from head level) make its flag just 1 stud shorter compared to the lower ones. It's an optical trick, it will make it seem taller ;) (Or ad cute clouds lol)
This castle looks sick (in a good way)! Also if you're ever going to use sand red pieces for your LEGO Minecraft world, 2x2 sand red bricks are cheap enough. They mostly cost $0,90 USD on BrickLink right now.
I do agree that the bright green would be too bright, but I do wonder if a small patch or two of regular green tri-leaves would help gives the vines some life, as the look dead or dying. Plus I think it would make a more appealing spot for potential birds to be
Well, I don't think a recreation is necessarily the best, but I'd definitely encourage you to use this build as inspiration for something else! When it comes to the textures, it's all about balancing - making sure there's not too much detail to make the build noisy, but also enough detail to make it interesting. :)
Hoping to do a little bit of that, yeah! Depends on the tree type I end up going with too. Still gotta figure that out, but I'm hoping to try some designs soon!
What about a lil crane near the port with a canon dangling around. Would indicate that there is some live and work on the castel, would love to see that :)
That base is really strong actually! It can be picked up and moved all in one piece, or the tower can be split in half which will hopefully ensure it fits in my car xD
I'll have to experiment with it for sure. Just want to get something on the extra cliff outcroppings. Who knows, might just end up being bushes and grasses
I know this is clearly a defensive outpost, but I think more furnishings and other messy doodads to make it feel more lived-in would go a really long way. I'm sure not all of those silver conquistadors are as disciplined as their CMF commanders!
It's come together quite fast - there's probably only been 20 or so days actually dedicated to building it - just a lot of bricks laid down in those days! I'm hoping to have it done in March to take it to my first convention. :D
A fun detail could be a knight sitting and drinking on one of those little ledges
I'll certainly have to add some little scenes like that - that would be really fun!
Every entry in this series makes me want to start a vertical build... beautiful work as always!
You should definitely give it a go! There's something real special about them
the lights give so much to the atmosphere, very nice looking. and the Conquistador choice fits very well with the sandstone looking castle
Thank you! I'll definitely be lighting more MOCs in the future. It really does a lot to bring a build to life.
You should've added a small lego steve from the first lego minecraft sets hidden in the build
There's some other fun Easter eggs in there, don't worry xD
When its in the dark the little windows with light give it such a cozy feeling I love it
Lights is a topic I haven’t really considered with my MOCs and sets, but after watching I’m starting to get interested
I held off for a longgg time too, but I think it makes a build so much more dynamic. There's ways to do it cheaply too if you're on a budget even which is nice! I used to army-build those conquistadors back when they were around! I wanted them for my old Pirates sets. I probably have five or six sitting around; had no idea they were so rare nowadays.
That's epic! I wish I had gotten some back in the day now too 😂 They are great looking figures, so it makes sense why they'd be so desirable!
WoW this build is looking so amazing ! I think bright green accents would look good on top of all of this tan and red dull colors 🧐
More plants will definitely help a lot :)

I am tempted to get that frog... It's beautiful xD
I really did not think i would love this series so much 🦆. Btw i adore all of the small details 🫶
Thank you! Glad you've been enjoying these videos ❤️
It looks awesome, Caleb! I give it zee chef's kiss. Now you must build zee bowat. Definitely looking forward to what's next for this. It is a seriously beautiful moc.
Appreciate it
Looking excellent Caleb! 🙌
Ay, thanks Mark!
This thing is looking awesome!
Thank you!
Fantastic piece of work!
Appreciate it!
The castle looks amazing!
Seeing your purple logo light behind the build gave me an idea, maybe you could add sand purple to give a pop of color
I did try and add some sand red 🤣 They're just such tricky colors to work with. If only I could use some sand purple tube connectors here...
@@CheeseyStudios 😅
maybe that's how they get between levels

I know its not very tropical, but you could make some coastal pines. They have pretty dark leaves so the dark green would work.
I'll look into those! Pines could look nice
These lights are a perfect addition to this Castle. Fantastic details! 🎉 Thanks for sharing! 💕
Thank you! Really glad you like it
Been loving this series
Love to hear it! It's been fun documenting this build, and the chill approach has made it quite enjoyable too.
I'm so in love with this build, always been a big fan of castles thanks to LEGO,can't wait to see this beauty of a moc finished and see a proper showing of it!
Thank you! My goal is to hopefully have it done in March. I really need to get working on that ship xD
Absolutely gorgeous. The stone and rockwork has me drooling.
Thank you! Really happy that turned out the way that it did. Definitely worth the parts investment!
What a glorious MOC!
Thank you!
The cannon immediately made me think of the scene in Three Musketeers when they’re traveling by horse and get too close to a castle and start getting bombarded by cannon fire.
Ha! No one will be messing with this castle either 😂
Becoming a channel member is the best investment 👌
It looks really good so far. A very tall boi...
But very afraid of the very scary boat 😱⛵ (hope it works out 👍)
Oh, me too xD I may end up reworking it entirely. We'll see how it goes!
it keeps getting better and better, the lighting is a nice touch! btw i built that dune set, its amaizing. its became my favourite set i own, 2nd would be the tallneck from horizon.
animal stealing food from one of the soldiers would look fun.
Thank you! Yeah, I've been loving these random one-off licensed sets. They've done great work with both the Tallneck and Ornithopter!

Definitely gonna add a nest or two. :) I even bought a few extra seagulls! Really excited to add them
Omg it looks so good keep it up man!
Thank you!
It is awesome. I really like the vibe of a tropical island castle too!
Thank you! I feel it's a setting that has not been explored very often in the castle community, and the brighter colors have just been so much fun to work with.
this build looks so smooth and I love the plant detailing
Thank you! I do love that olive green color
I love this build so much but I think you should put a frog somewhere and hide it in a good spot
This is gorgeous! I can't wait to see how it will look finished.
Thank you! It's getting closer. Hopefully I'll have a chance to finish it up this month!
This build has turned out beautifully.
Thank you
Looks like something you could see in a Hayao Miyazaki film! Epic, inspiring work!
Thank you!
This castle is looking fantastic, nice job! It would have been cool if you had lit up the water, but very expensive.
Yeah... In the future I'll try and be more ambitious with lighting though. It's just so fun to mess around with! Some slow pulsing blues in the water could have been sweet
Agreed, I have been thinking about including lights in one of my builds, and I may now after seeing how good they look in your castle.
Looks so good!
Thank you!
Dang! Love the texture!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you!
The castle gets taller and more complete.
We're getting closer to completion!
The lights bring this up to the next level!
Ikr? Definitely worth the investment! I think I'll be lighting a lot more of my MOCs in the future
Your logo in the background with the purple light is gorgeous!
Thank you! I've been wanting to add the lights forever, and it worked out so well!
Amazing build!
Looks really good with the lighting.
Thank you! I love how the lighting turned out too. It adds so much!
Every new episode it looks better and better, can't wait to see how it looks with all of the foliage
Thank you! So excited to add more plants. Hopefully I get a chance to work on this later this month.
Fun surprise update video on my birthday, the castle looks SO GOOD!!!
Well hey, Happy Birthday!
@@CheeseyStudios Thank you! Can't wait to see the next update :)
Awesome.
Have you looked at Bevins' Bricks lighting options? He has great connections for modular buildings & flashing & flickering lights.
I did take a look! I might have to keep them in mind for future builds
It's been so long! I adore this build so much and i can't wait for the next part in the saga
Hopefully going to have some free time this month to finally work on it again! I haven't had a chance to touch it since December D,:
Nice castle.
Thanks!
The use of the Spaniards for the castle gaurds and the verticality of it
Glad you like them! They're such cool figures. Really happy I could find enough 😂
When you finish this amazing project I am going to try to build it in Minecraft!
Go for it! That'll be awesome. I can't remember if I said this already or not, but this is actually based off a Minecraft build I did last summer lol xD
Incredible looking castle. The lights help bring it to life. Agree that this is a special build and the knights kingdom figs would not work with this build.
lolol what it really needs is some Nexo Knights 🤣
@CheeseyStudios yes, a Axl fig on the top overlooking his new kingdom.
Somewhat spooky vibes.
With the lights off, definitely 👀
Oh this is Magnificent!
Thank you
Its so beautifully built nice job ❤
Thank you
120+ centimeters tall! Wow, that's crazy cool! I didn't imagine that in that tiny island a tall castle would be constructed XD XD

It's hard to make normal light flicker without risking a house fire 😅

This looks cool

So coooolll gl on the boat too!
Appreciate that! I'm gonna need all the luck I can get xD Hopefully I have some proper free time in January to power through it
That is HUGE i think i missed a video!
Last episode was a big episode - you'll have to check that one out!
Nice job
Thanks!
You need to add a flying bird (like a seagull) on a transparent rod of some sort up at the top to increase the height to just *past* 4 feet.
That's a good idea 😂
I do agree that the bright green would be too bright, but I do wonder if a small patch or two of regular green tri-leaves would help gives the vines some life, as the look dead or dying. Plus I think it would make a more appealing spot for potential birds to be
I've got a lot of experimenting to do for sure!
You really inspire me to try to remake your build, is there any advice you can give me about terrain and the buildings
Well, I don't think a recreation is necessarily the best, but I'd definitely encourage you to use this build as inspiration for something else! When it comes to the textures, it's all about balancing - making sure there's not too much detail to make the build noisy, but also enough detail to make it interesting. :)
@@CheeseyStudios Ok, thanks for the advice
Im loving both your minecraft and castle mocs!!! better than anything I can make by 100X
Thank you! Just takes some practice is all. :)
What about replacing some of the rock snot pieces with roots, and then having a trees growing off the cliff
Hoping to do a little bit of that, yeah! Depends on the tree type I end up going with too. Still gotta figure that out, but I'm hoping to try some designs soon!
Are there any plans to add any mythical creatures? Obviously dragons and castles go hand-in-hand, but really anything could compliment the build.
I'm probably going to keep this fairly realistic, but I will be adding lots of small animals about. But maybe a tentacle in the water would be fun xD
That perfect ❤
Thank you!
man, that looks awesome! have you tried adding foam at the edges of the rocks? i think it could look nice :)
Thank you! That's a good idea too :)
I love this! Any chance you’ll be bringing this to bricks cascade in march?
It'll be at another convention that same weekend actually - Brick Days in Omaha. That's my deadline to get it finished!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
What about a lil crane near the port with a canon dangling around. Would indicate that there is some live and work on the castel, would love to see that :)
I do like that idea! I've been thinking about adding one honestly, and I might have a good spot for one
Looking forward to that :)
I know, I’m sorry. But somebody had to say it - This Build looks *LIT* 🔥
lolololol thank you xD
Yesss!!!
\o/
That’s one glorious hunk! How do you shift it from the table without the components breaking?
That base is really strong actually! It can be picked up and moved all in one piece, or the tower can be split in half which will hopefully ensure it fits in my car xD
looks awesome but you should switch up some weapons, long spear/axe pieces are good as well as lego cross-bows and muskets
Thank you! That's a good idea
big dub!
maybe you could swap out the minifigs that are higher up in the castles weapons to some weapons that are more long range focused like a bow or a gun
Actually that does make a lot more sense! Thanks for the suggestion
so cool
Thank you! ❤️
If you don't add palm trees- add dangling roots hanging from the cliffs!
Good idea!
Epic!
Thanks!
YEAHHHHHHHH
it needs birds and maybe clouds to emphasize the height
Definitely will be adding some seagulls all over the place!
'*epic infiltration music plays*' 🎶
🤣
honestly i think the castle is done, trees would just be messy, maybe 2-3 around the base
I'll have to experiment with it for sure. Just want to get something on the extra cliff outcroppings. Who knows, might just end up being bushes and grasses
thats the joy of experimenting with lego i guess@@CheeseyStudios
I wonder if you could just have the lights barely connected so they flicker
Sometimes that unintentionally happens with my LEGO Minecraft lighting xD
I know this is clearly a defensive outpost, but I think more furnishings and other messy doodads to make it feel more lived-in would go a really long way. I'm sure not all of those silver conquistadors are as disciplined as their CMF commanders!
Don't worry, lots more details to come! :)
My Sea of Thieves addicted self is going nuts rn
(Btw really fun game… I’d recommend)
My buddies used to play it all the time together 😂 I could never join in because I'm on a stupid Mac. But maybe it's compatible now...?
Do you have any advice for making a large scale moc?
Just make sure it breaks apart into smaller sections so that it can be easily transported!
you did this really fast
It's come together quite fast - there's probably only been 20 or so days actually dedicated to building it - just a lot of bricks laid down in those days! I'm hoping to have it done in March to take it to my first convention. :D
wish you best of luck
it looks very pretty
Круто!
It be funny if the boat was followed by a giant shark or sea creature, panic on the boat!
I'll have to have a little shark fin somewhere lol
What’s the height in centimetres, I’m Canadian soooo…
You'll have to do the Google conversion xD
what is that background music? I love it. If anyone knows the name pls reply
It's called "Playing in Color" - I think it fits the vibe here really well!
I WANT MORE MINECRAFT BUILD😭😭
Well, if you become a channel member, you can watch the next episode! 😉
how did you reach that high to build ?
It splits in half thankfully! So I ended up building the top half separately, and then attached it on top :)
smart!!@@CheeseyStudios
