her story broke me , its shows how fragile and easly broken a human can be , and how messed up this world can be and how unfair it is even if work hard for the people you love , you can lose everything overnight...
Yeah I know right… But it also shows that, no matter how much you need money, you shouldn’t poke you nose in shady business. This backstory was truly heartbreaking
@@Rubatissimo And sometimes even if you don't poke your nose in anything shady your life can still get fucked up in a single moment. So there's no guarantee that bad things won't happen to you if you don't get involved in shady businesses.
@Ambiguousss There are people in situations where there are no other ways or at least it doesn't seem so bad given the alternatives like selling their organs, drugs, human trafficking etc. The thing is that her story comes from a time where this was pretty common in Japan, because of the economic crash of 80s-90s, a lot of people resorted to take a new life start by taking money from loan sharks, what they didn't knew is that they would never be able to pay the debt, so when that happens, their thugs (often people just as desperate) would take their children to trafficking, brutalizing people... you get where this is going. This author has such a clever writing as to let people know more about the story just because of where and when it might have taken place. Like, if you try to think a backstory for Turbo Granny, you can assume she was alive by the WWII where times were also rough, and given her way of protecting spirits of younger girls who met terrible fates, you can assume her backstory is also very heartbreaking, OR NOT, maybe we will learn it some day, or maybe not.
@@RubatissimoIt just breaks my heart how some people feel forced to that point… those shady businesses take advantage of people trying their best and it just breaks my heart how much they helped her achieve temporary happiness for her daughter but then contributed to the growing amount of pain she experienced until they took what mattered the most to her. i read her swan song scene on twitter by accident weeks ago; my tears exploded from that snip. later on, i finally get the full context from reading the acrosilky arc, the tears still come out so easily. and at long last, i got to re-experience the trauma with the anime version (took me every last bit of restraint to not yell in horror and desperation while watching with my siblings’ first exposure to the arc; i was doing my absolute best to not spoil them. we cried so much after it ended.) If you have a child, love them dearly. This had me hug my baby girl and tear up because im so grateful to have her near to me. Poor momma, poor baby.. this episode is hurts
Dude I signed up for a silly comedy about ghosts and aliens not a tragedy. I just bawled when Silky danced alone in the night time city. Never to see her daughter in this world again. (Every part of this sequences animation was beautiful as well. The music is a big part, but you could watch this muted and still probably cry your eyes out. Silkys dance was so fluid.)
I kinda want to hold on to hope that her daughter is still out there, alive and safe. But I know that’s not true, not in this world. This cruel, unforgiving world.
Unfortunately, the manga visually confirms that she’s dead, showing them both in the afterlife. The show still confirms it with Aira’s words, “take them both to a kinder place.”
Seeing this makes me boil in rage for what the guy did to acrobatic silky. I wish there is a character like yuchiro from deamon slayer would save the girl or give her and mother piece while making the abuser die in vain into the void.

For the ones who got here after the ep 7 if it was not so clear she was on the top of a rooftop of a building after she runs for her daughter and you know the rest 😢 Btw amazing ep love the fact how much effort the director did to this part of the manga man im speechless and i love dandadan ❤❤❤
In the manga, there was no final ballet performance for the mother’s suicide. It was a lot more explicit in showing how she died.😥 She stood on the edge of the railing of a tall building, and did one pirouette off to her demise. The anime? Although it was a bit more subtle at her death, it conveyed the exact same message of what happened. She stood on a rooftop with the floor covered in rainwater, the city lights glowing in the distance, and the night sky, clear of any storm clouds, shining overhead. I think the reason why she did this dance is because it’s the only comfort she has left that reminds her of her daughter. Remember in the flashbacks? She and her daughter once looked up at a starry sky, just like this. But now her daughter’s gone, never to be seen again and most likely dead at the kidnappers’ hands. She does this dance as a way of making her feel like she still has her daughter with her as she finally dies. It’s a way of reminding her of happier times with her daughter to comfort her as she finally departs from this world.
@@reicho3034 Not only that, but she and her daughter practiced together, and noticing how skilled she is it might have been her own dream in which she wanted to make sure her daughter could achieve it and be happy
@@luook3 It’s most likely she was a retired Ballerina. People say that Acro Silky died way back during an economic recession in Japan if I remember correctly. She took up multiple jobs and even took out loans for her daughter, but to take out a lone in that time is practically suicide due to it being nearly impossible to pay it back with loan sharks having an unreasonable amount of interest.
