Real Dragon Age fans weren't pissed about representation in Veilguard, that stuff has been a part of Dragon Age since the beginning. Zevran, Lelianna and Morrigan are openly bisexual, Fenris' entire backstory is abuse, Cole is dysphoria personified, Sera owns UHaul stock, and Dorian's father used foul magic to attempt to lobotomize him straight. We were pissed because the writing was piss poor and the characters were either annoying or boring. They had 10 years to make this, and what we got was an embarassing mess. All nuance, all grit, all complexity gone. Everything that made Dragon Age stand out from other fantasy rpgs has been sanded off to make it safe. No tension between races No tension between faiths No tension between your companions outside of childish squabbling Honest to God I would rather have had no new Dragon Age instead of Veilguard. At least before I had hope.
Funnily enough, this is the first time I've seen fallen feathers. There have been a lot of Chinese or Chinese inspired games coming out recently, and I do really like arts and mythology mixed with the dark fantasy in these games. But I also understand why that style can be a bit much for folks, lotsa stories about corruption and follies and the like, and how that sorta represents how they end up changing physically. I think I just really dig it more since it pokes at my enjoyment towards catholic horror, or just religious horror in general.
YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE KNEW WITCHER 4 TRAILER!!!!! CIRI IS SO FUCKING HOT!!!! Representation can be great when it makes sense and does not feel insincere. For example theres a show with a black King Henry VIII, who is not only black but disabled and gay....kinda feels like they are just checking boxes. South of midnight does look interesting.
If you have time to sit down and review, you should eventually react to VaatiVidya’s explanation of ‘Elden Rings Lore Explained’. I am one of the many who are intrigued by its world, and would be happy to share the enigmatic experience with a writer.
You should react to the New Marvel Rivals trailers, they're a bunch of fun and the story is so interesting (Admittedly you'll need some comic knowledge to understand any of it)
A lot the same people that said that representation didn’t matter a couple of years ago are now making a lotta bread from videos criticizing entertainment projects, I guess, they feel don’t represent them? It’s a weird thing to see. Also, even though it seems you don’t like some stuff you may want to check out the 2024 remake of Salem’s Lot. That story while influenced by stories before it also has its fingerprints all over series like Midnight Mass and Stranger Things.
I personally think it's entirely reasonable to want to feel represented in games! As a nonbinary person, I thought it was really neat that there were a few nonbinary characters in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, even if I had issues with the writing in a lot of places. Unrelated, god I love the music in the South of Midnight trailer.
I love dragonage, finished veilguard the other day, it was pretty good, not the best Dragon Age game but not the worst. BTW its veil as in the thing you wear as a bride.
@@vahdoom naah, I disagree.. and look, it was a disappointment at the time it was released for me.. but after seeing the plot of Inquisition and then Veilguard.. I forgive DA2
@@iurysaraiva3411 the plot of da2 was fine, everything else was a letdown. I loved inquisitions plot for the most part, some great big lore reveals in the DLC, but it had it issues. Veilguards story is pretty good, not as good as inquisition, kinda too modern and virtue signally to be the best
I know people who love playing gorey games but are still grossed out by the cutscenes and trailers. Maybe because you get so focused on the gameplay you can't focus on the grossness. I think I have played enough violent games I am kinda numb to the disgusting stuff in video games.
Cannot recommend getting yourself an Xbox series S + gamepass enough! You pay a single sub and get ALL the games free! South of midnight and a lot more! I think they are like $200 now?
While South of Midnight is an xbox game, xbox is pivoting hard away from exclusive games. Playstation kinda won and outsold xbox like crazy. Which made them decide that selling games where the gamers are might make them more money. So its possible that this could eventually make it onto playstation. All xbox games are on PC for sure though

Absolutely in love with South of Midnight’s art style. Day one purchase for sure
that slap you did was so loud, thank you i liked it
There's also a 30-40min documentary about making South of Midnight that's pretty cool.

I'll post that today or tomorrow. I watched it!
Also that Henry VIII sounds awful

That was fun! The Xbox game is coming to PlayStation later, or at least that’s the rumor.

The hill that I will die on. " Representation matters"
There’s a Dragon Age show on prime if your interested :)

hannah your chapter makers on the video is mixed at Dragon age and fallen feathers.
Think its time you dip your toe into the Hideo Kojima verse
4:23 Anthro-chauvanist. 😝
It's never been about "oppression olympics" ... it's about unappealing characters.
This character is cute, and that's all people want.
While that's true, unfortunately the game is still being attacked for being "too woke"

@iurysaraiva3411 nar I still think 2 was the worst.

I think stream won really. All games for all platforms are on it.
