I ordered a tin last week and tried it. As a new pipe smoker, I didn’t care for this one. So I put it in a mason jar and will let it sit 😂. I’ll give it another try next year and see if anything has changed. In the meantime I’ll keep enjoying my Chelsea Morning, Autumn Evening and a few others I’m enjoying in my maiden voyage of pipe smoking. Great review! 👍😁
I love flavored tobacco with stout but good tobacco. I've been enjoying it once a day, and after a few days I have to take a break for a few days but come back to it again. Great review.
I generally steer clear or aromatics but picked up 2 tins of this to be a crowd pleaser. I like that this is basically top-quality, fairly strong tobacco that is flavored rather than a typical black cavendish aromatic. "Stout" as you put it is a perfect description. I think something like this will put off aromatic-only smokers. It's a really nice change for smokers who like stronger tobacco.
I enjoyed this blend. Like you this is not a year round blend for me. I smoked a tin last year, and cracked another tin from last year. After sitting a year it smells a lot more boozy than I remember last year. I got a couple of tins this year and will sit on them until next fall.
Thx for the review. Noticed that but didn’t see what type it was. Vid is better anyway n👍 I like the way you review. Very well said and easy to imagine.
Nice review once again. I got a lot of the alcohol dominating the front of the taste myself with the sweeter additives playing second fiddle. I agree the nic is a factor on this one. Not a typical aromatic, lots of good native tobacco taste. The Burley really pops I agree. Really good blend @ 3.4 Pipes. Sleepy Hollow for the alternative fall blend, I posted my usual Friday aro review two weeks ago but FB incarcerated my review and me to for week, who knows why. You can see it on TR however.
Always appreciate your take on a blend Wilson. I was pleasantly surprised by the mid bowl darkening of the burleys into something quite robust with a good kick. Very aromatic tin note but a quality tobacco flavor. I also found this crumble cake to have almost perfect moisture, very well done in that regard. Its fun to see 15 thousand tins of CRF sell out in 10 hours and then still be able to buy scarecrow over a week after release lol. All the best to you and your family, God bless.
You do a great review. I took my cake and rubbed it all out and put it back in the tin to decant it a bit. The strong boozy qualities I find off putting and this seems to help with that. Once the moisture content gets a little less I’ll jar it up and try a bowl. Your scent description of the raw leaf is quite accurate. I detect a butterscotch aroma that to me is similar to Nutty Irishman as well.
Once again an awesome review 👏 How many pipes do you smoke of a blend before giving a review and do you find the taste , aroma and room note the same all the time or does it differ from time to time . I find my smoking does differ from morning to afternoon then in the evening to late night it's totally different taste , I don't know maybe it's just me ( lol 🙃 ) God bless 🙌 🙏 and catch you on the next one. Greetings from south africa 🇿🇦
Thanks Yusuf! It depends. Typically I smoke over half the tin before I feel comfortable reviewing it. Other times, like with this blend and many aromatics, I get a good grasp of the blend with a few bowls.
I got this last week, and it's very enjoyable for me! I've only had time to smoke one bowl of it so far, but in comparison to the Autumn Evening by Cornell and Diehl, it did not have as strong of an aromatic aroma as the Autumn Evening for me. I found it to be very pleasant, and I'm hoping to catch some better weather without any wind so that I can enjoy the aroma better!
I tried it last year and didn't care for it. I took it out this year and it seems to have improved a bit. I find sipping works otherwise it can bite and get hot. See how it grabs you next year 👍😎👊
Spot on review, Wilson. At least in my experience with a single bowl. I like Autumn Evening a bit better as far as fall aros, but this one is certainly decent. God bless.
Nice review man! I’ve been wondering about this one.. The St Espresso and Red hunt are 2 of my favorite blends but the description on this just didn’t pop out to me
I was a bit disappointed with this blend. Great tin note and it kicks off really nice in the bowl. But for me it evolves into a burley monster further down and that’s where it lost me. I decided to jar it up and let it relax for at least a year-perhaps longer. Not terrible, but in my opinion it doesn’t deliver on the promise of the first few tokes.
Just got a couple of tins for myself and a friend. Can't wait to sit around the campfire and give this a try.
A good choice for a campfire
Always enjoy the limited batch/seasonal blend reviews! Can we get a Creeper of the Corn review next?
Probably not as I've hit my tobacco budget! 😂
Yeah, I got a tin. Definitely just a couple smokes a year sort of blend for me. Thanks for sharing. Happy smokes Wilson😊
Thanks Steve and happy smokes!

Good plan!
Great review, I got some Scarecrow and a new Peterson Halloween 2022 pipe 106 shape. I’m all set for Halloween. Enjoy your pipes.
Thanks Graham

Thanks!
This stuff sounds just up my alley
NVM, I can't do black cavendish :(
Perfect description! One of a handful of aromatics I really enjoy. Curious how this will age. Wish I'd picked up a couple more tins.
Good review! A good fall smoke, for sure!
Bought 4 tins before I saw your review. It sounds great. Gonna give my son a tin.
Nice. I think y'all will enjoy it
@@TheSpurgeonPiper Thanks! Just got it on the mail!
Thank you for that in depth review! I’m going to try it. I don’t know if the current year blend is exactly the same?

Yup, I'm in agreement with you.
I got this and Creeper of the Corn in recently and I'm excited to try this
Creeper certainly looked interesting

Super helpful content. Great job.
Thanks Mike.
Thank you for the review.
Thanks Tony
Thank you for all the great info and reviews. I’m a new piper and these details are very helpful for burgeoning aficionados!
Glad to hear it!
I enjoy watching your tobacco reviews. Keep em coming!
Thank you Kenneth!
The dominant flavors for me are the red Virginia and candy apple\corn.
Thx for the review. Noticed that but didn’t see what type it was. Vid is better anyway n👍 I like the way you review. Very well said and easy to imagine.

I enjoy your reviews and you are spot-on.
Thank you Brad!

Thanks. It's unique for sure and stands apart from most aros.
Thanks for the review. I just picked up two tins about an hour ago so I'll have one for next year! 🙂Or should I say 🎃
Nice!
Can you do Top 5 or Top 10 Xmas blends , please ?
I'll keep that in mind.
Thanks 👍
Evidently this is getting a rerelease this month, but it sounds like you prefer the Maple Shadows. Decisions, decisions.
@@Orochi_001 did they announce it's getting released again?
@@TheSpurgeonPiperI saw a banner ad saying October 11th.
Are you coming to the vegas show
Unfortunately I'm not.

Ya I can't blame your assessment. The toppings do diminish after some time.
