Bobby Deol was desperate for movies in that period, of course he was going to jump at Akshay Kumar's rejects. Doesn't quite make him a hero in my opinion. We still need to uncover the truth about what happened to shelved film "London" (to be directed by Gurinder Chaddha, but she walked out due to Deol brothers' unprofessionality)

I think Priyanka just became a victim of bollywood wives insecurity. She was way new and Akshay was also very newly married. Seeing their chemistry on screen Twinkle got unsecured knowing the reputation Akshay carried at that point that of a Casanova. Poor Priyanka just fell victim to Twinkle 's insecurity and big bollywood wives gang.
exactly and she was only 19 in Andaaz when he was 30 something. She didn't deserve all the flag from within the industry at such a young age. it's not her fault that she's asked to do a song like Ayega Maza and she's always casted as the sexually charged character

Dosti : Friends forever was one of the most touching and beautiful films of that year - I know it was a flop but then sometimes good films do flop - it had beautiful music, touching story and good acting plus a few light moments too - i loved it

@@naseem1402 again if we see this interview I guess because of differences between him n AK n less promotions tho even at that time promotions weren't a thing but I will say the director also was at fault if he dint like did hoardings or whatever at tht time n also Akshay availablity it suffered on the movie plus at tht time if hero dies usually movies don't work. AK was a big star tht time fans wouldn't want to see hero die. Idk if u remember this was a thing for a fact n therefore Salman made sure he never dies in his movies until tere naam whn lots of his movies flopped he tried something new n it worked for him
Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar were also to star in Namastey London but Priyanka was kicked out because of Akshay and Salman suggested Katrina's name. It's one film that I wish we had seen Akshay and Priyanka together.

He is correct about people from all different countries wanting to watch Hindi cinema as it should be, it has lost its touch. Being from US I come across many people who mention that Indian movies are like Hollywood now and that they miss it’s originality!!

Priyanka Chopra was supposed to do Dosti and Bewafa too with Akhsay. Priyanka and Akshay were the HIT couple of that time with all their pair films being SUPER HIT. But after Barsaat drama, Kareena was cast in Dosti and Bewafa and both films flopped harder than titanic.
Akshay Kumar is known for giving word and always been a through professional. Every story have more than 1 side on this topic ppl need to be patient n think why is this coming up now n for wht??

If we in the west want to watch a Hollywood style movie we will watch a Hollywood movie… we would watch a Bollywood movie for being a Bollywood type movie.. the music (main factor)/dance/romance/drama.

Also with the arrival of corporates in 2003-5 all these actors have become unaffordable. 1CR-2CR was asking 5-10 times more than that after corporate culture.

This shows nothing is permanent in this world. Suneel and Akshay were really close at one point of time. Many a times, Akshay chooses to keep his mouth shut to avoid conflict, while the other person doesn't back down from washing dirty linen in public. I never thought of Ek Rishta and Dosti being similar to Waqt. But that dog stunt scene from Waqt always reminded me of the car stunt scene from Jaanwar. Now I know what happened behind the scenes. Akshay must have told Vipul to include these scenes or given some kind of suggestion. But don’t know which remake is Suneel talking about.

Heartwarming interview!! Now I realize that for a 90's kids like me Sunil Darshan is a gold ...Tha KS for uploading the Classic Barsaat version!! I was requesting this one for so long from my other accounts & atlast we got to experience it...But I genuinely think he sud have replaced PC with Lara & kept Akshay, Katrina nd finished tht movie at that point of time, Bobby was a gud actor but he was a disaster as a Solo hero at tht point of time, also with pc there was literally no chemistry!! And I thot humko deewana kar gaye was his project too, don't know wht happened in that front as well...But problem is making a 90's style 2 hero musical projects won't be easy in today's time because Heroes asks for too much of money & finding 2 established hero to be a part of a project for a rom com wid be very very difficult....But I genuinely hope this happens because U can't get box office hit with newcomers very easily in today's time!! Untill the music,location & dreamy Disney backgrounds take ur watching experience to a different level...I hope he succeds in doing so!

Sorry to say but Suneel Darshan is actually a D Grade Movie director. He hasn’t made a single movie which has stood the test of time or which has any repeat value or any quality attached to it. All of his movies are of extremely poor quality. Some have good music but that’s about it. Akshay Kumar probably realised this and decided to move which was absolutely the right thing to do otherwise he would have never worked with the likes of Neeraj Pandey or Priyadarshan etc. Infact Akhshay worked mainly with new or unaccomplished directors.

I remember when I got cast in Sunil ji Talaash and when I was cast then by the producer Pahlaj nihlani ji and then Sunil was a very aloof director And when I was tricked into doing Awara pagan diwana by the bad producer F Nadiawala I had huge fight with him and then Sunil sherry who was friend actually sided with bad producer F Nadiawala. BUT Akhshay k helped me against the bad producer, and Akhshay is a very professional and a good human being as I know personally!!
