Corvo Attano Actually, from what I can tell after looking at synth production in the Institute, they are humans, they're just assembled from pre-built things. First it starts out as a template, upon which bones are placed. It then is given it's other, meat bits (organs, muscle, etc). Then it's dipped in the original vat thing, and let go, where it gains skin, and prusembly conciousness, seeing as it walks out of it, to where an older model synth says "Come this way for processing." I'd assume processing is sorta just orientation/making smarter, because they've given it a brain, but not knowledge. Also, they probably get those implants/synth components here. It's basically a baby. They then feed it all the knowledge it'll need in an accelerated form (I think.) They're humans. It's just that they don't have expiriences like a human growing up would. We get friends, fun things, etc, where as synths just get the facts. It's not strange to think a synth could be normal, as the ones in the Railroad are. Maybe the emotions are just switched off by one of the components, and them going normal is just that turning off. I dunno. Just some things.

She bought her way out by stealing caps from sleeping guys only to end up fighting at the Combat Zone and is borderline addicted to chems wjen you meet her. It's because of the Sole Survivor that she opens up to love and care AND uses a Vault's tech to get clean. Pretty sure she even has a chance of saying she loves you in the relationship cjeck dialogue when at max affinity. Even if she doesn't she makes it clear shw wouldn't want anyone else to travel with

They could’ve added a side quest of him talking to her even though she’s dead, or something it just felt like the character had one thing to say about the situation when you’re freed from the pod then that’s it.

I can see this being the Ultimate trust that the Sole Survivor can give to a person. Not everyone knows the full story, some know that Shaun was taken from them, but they were never told the fate of the father/mother. So the story is over, the battle is won, bonds have been forged, Kellogg is dead and the institute is a crater. What's left for the Survivor? Just one last thing they have of the life they once head, someone they need to put to rest.
Pipers reaction is my favorite idk why, just seems so genuine and empathetic. Codsworth has the most emotional response but Nick’s and Preston’s Voice actors are amazing. Especially with Preston. Bro is almost crying with you.
You can tell Nick is about to bust out his trademark dry wit or even chide you for messing with the cryopods, gets hit by the sudden realization, and has to not only feel bad for you but ashamed that he didn't catch it sooner. Liked Preston, mccready and cait reaction which makes sense. Surviving out there for long time with any time you could die finding that bond with someone is very important. So once their gone it’s heart wrenching. Mc ready is his case he has kids. Forgot lore wise if his wife/their mother Is still alive but if she passed then he sympathizes with Nate the most.
The fact that there's no option to bury your spouse shows Bethesda's idiocy: yeah, it sure as hell would have been too much to ask to have a quest later in the game where you return to the vault, and interacting with the body would have triggered a cutscene where the body is being buried at; say, Sanctuary - behind your old house.

To me Valentine, Danse, and Codsworth felt the most genuine and comforting
You can tell Nick is about to bust out his trademark dry wit or even chide you for messing with the cryopods, gets hit by the sudden realization, and has to not only feel bad for you but ashamed that he didn't catch it sooner. I swear that fuckin synth has all the good writing in the entire game hoarded and won't let anyone else have any.

What would make this more impactful is if we heard their thoughts after we got their reaction, like an extension of sorts.

Liked Preston, mccready and cait reaction which makes sense. Surviving out there for long time with any time you could die finding that bond with someone is very important. So once their gone it’s heart wrenching. Mc ready is his case he has kids. Forgot lore wise if his wife/their mother Is still alive but if she passed then he sympathizes with Nate the most.
I feel like the sole survivor goes down there to bring trinkets and possession and consider this her memorial.
The fact that there's no option to bury your spouse shows Bethesda's idiocy: yeah, it sure as hell would have been too much to ask to have a quest later in the game where you return to the vault, and interacting with the body would have triggered a cutscene where the body is being buried at; say, Sanctuary - behind your old house.
