Dear, I'm in Brazil researching to buy an XC60 and found your review. That's the best review I've ever seen! Spectacular! Not only about the car itself, but the way you go through ever important point and possibilities. Surely you have fun doing that! Nothing comes out that great when is not coming from the heart... Thanks a lot for sharing on youtube! Tchau!
Hi, I am buying a pre-owned XC60 for my wife. Was contemplating it among a few other options. But your honest and detailed review helped me to make a sound decision. You are the best. Thank you!
Thanks for your review of this car. I just bought a used one (2016 T5 Nordic), and learned more things about the car because of your review. So thumbs up!
It was my first time I drove it , but I trusted the ACC system and was using and working perfectly for me. This car is very smooth and very powerful too.
Hi, I am buying a pre-owned XC60 for my wife. Was contemplating it among a few other options. But your honest and detailed review helped me to make a sound decision. You are the best. Thank you!
Hi there! A very good review of this car. Really in-depth and realistic too. I ordered a XC60 last week, diesel version 2.0L. Can't wait to drive it in a few months. If I saw your review earlier, i would've ordered it sooner :). Keep up with good work!
always love hitting the heads of rear passengers on my s60, the bliss orange light is so accurate in this video, volvo's great! love your reviews and is the reason i subscribed this channel!
I buyed this great car in this days thanks to your complete review. White colored 2.0 diesel D3. Thank you very much Thomas. You're great like my XC60.
Hi Thomas I have just ordered the xc60 R design lux nav it will take 6 weeks to arrive I ordered it after your fantastic review thank you and keep up the brilliant work.
First video of this channel that I am watching. Very good review. Soothing, in-depth and factual. I will check for your XC90 video also. Would like to know what was causing the whirling sound? Hoping it will be heard in every video.
Great review, you make it so interesting too, very detailed and well filmed, keep up the good work, oh and I like the Volvo XC60 thanks to your video, look forward to you doing a video on the new Volvo V90 / S90 .
I had an '11 R design for four years. . I'm actually thinking about getting another one, this time drive-e. They're improved from then and the T6 drive-e is just as quick as the old R design was.
Probably the best car reviews on RUclips, I like your not perfect english, you are trying to describe car so great that I like it so much :) And if you like these reviews click on one Advertisment in video to support this men, it will bring him maybe 0.10$ and you can watch these great reviews :)
Nice car indeed and nicely explained! Nonetheless, I just missed a few more detailed images from the inside and not so much sideseeing of you ;-) (sorry I didn't mean to be rude at all) I fully agree with you about the cruise control system in Volvo cars. It's just amazing!
How do you lock the rear doors individually from the inside? I do not see a door lock button. I know that you have to pull the door handle once to unlock, then again to open the door.
+Autogefühl I don't think it is there. What I mean is imagine you are in the back seat and the car is already on the road moving. The driver does not lock the car but you wish to lock your own door in the back seat. How would you do it? The only thing I can see is the locking pin at the top of the door. I'm guessing you can push it down to lock the door. I just find the whole Volvo rear door lock system confusing. Some S60/V60/XC60 cars have a door locking button near the window switch but some don't. Plus the new XC90 with the Bowers and Wilkins sound system have the door locking button in the speaker grill. But XC90 models without the B&W system don't have the button. Maybe I'm paranoid and thinking too much! :)
Good review, still I hope that Volvo makes a AWD with the drive-e motor. A head-up-display and the infotainment system of the new XC90 would be nice to have in the XC60.
The Volvo XC 60 is about to be redesigned in the 2017 model year, with new (I think) 4 cylinder engines. If this is a second car, not urgent to buy, would you get this model, or wait for the new redesign? I suspect the redesign will be much like the XC90. Newer features, but the engine? I don't know.
+Dean Brandon yes it will be more like the new XC90. Next Volvo to rebuild is the S90 and then they are going down, probably the XC60 will be the next one indeed. I dont see a reason though not to buy a XC60 now, its a good car.
You say the car is silent, but compared to other reviews on Autogefühl is looks like there is a bit more road noise. Does Volvo have the same level of noise-insulation as the German competition?
+Shakil A. Shakar thanks! Hmm... the XC60 is quite big for a compact SUV, so you have a lot of space. However the Touran sits lower and is more fitted to person transport
Hi, good review. I was particularly interested in your findings on the FourC system as I see in the vid it is installed on the tested FWD T5. I did not hear you mentioning or reviewing it, only some reamkrs on handling and suspension in general. What do you think of FourC in day-to-day use. Alone in the car and with passsengers and/or with heavy weight in the back (luggage fi). Thanks for your experiences with this XC60 T5 Geartronic FWD FourC.. I am currently looking at a D4 FWD Geartronic 181bhp with 20" and either FourC or Dynamic chassis. (And if Dynamic then maybe nivomats, not sure on that either). So my choices: FourC or Dynamic? Thanks!
Jer Li Hey, thanks for the feedback! Actually I found that differences between the FourC modes relatively small. There are other brands/cars where you really feel the difference between the different modes, here it is not that obvious. Imho, you do not need to pay the extra if you dont want to, but if its included, why not. Not a neccissary option imho, the basis suspension is also very good!
***** Ah, thanks. Already afraid it would be that way, but did not had the chance yet to try the FourC option myself (a very hard option to find on a XC60 demo car, if not impossible here in the Netherlands). Noticed that your two demo XC60's (T5 and D4) both had it installed duh?! haha. Thanks again for your quick reply, dynamic with nivomats it will be then. Paying for little adjustment possibilities is a nogo indeed. Greetings, a newbe subscriber.
Jer Li Great to hear you subscribed. You're welcome! Arent you ordering V60 Plugin-Hybrid? Isnt it the most-selling car in the Netherlands right now because of the tax benefit?
***** Moneywise it is interesting off course. That car I did a testdrive in, but a little too schizofrenic for my taste. It goes as a rocket on the straight, but in corners it tells you its weight. Above 160 kmh it it is a scary car even in a straight line, because of the weight in the back and only the diesel running. That car goes and seduces you like a sportscar powerwise, but is actually meant for communting with regular speeds 50-60 kilometers a day from/to work with electricity on both sides. As said, cheap to drive here, but schizofrenic :). As are more of those hybrid built in to regular cars.
Superb review! too bad volvo ditched the 5 cylinders engines... the d5 215ps engine sound in the xc60 is just amazing ;) can you please tell me the sound difference between the d5 5cyl and the d4 4cyl?
timotei danut Hey, thank you very much! Actually, in this segment I would not pay attention for the sound. When you sit inside, all the engines in the XC60 are quite silent. And none of those have any spectacular sound. I would go for the engine that makes most sense in the ratio of power/economy for you.
thanks again for the quick answer. I know that they are both silent but a 5 cyl engine makes a very distinctive, a lot more musical sound over 2800rpm, I know 'cause my brother in law has the 215PS D5. That's why I thought that given that you drove both engines you would have an ideea. Sorry for being so long... I just wanted to make sure you understand what I mean ;) Happy holidays!!
timotei danut Yeah sure no problem. Well it think you would rather choose between the petrol engine and the diesel if you want a real sound changed. You wont really notice the cylinder difference with the diesels...
I am getting bit confused to buy SUV ..Which is better one to buy Volvo , Discovery Sport and BMW X3 ....I am looking for base version of all SUV ...also can you give feedback on BMW 5 series or Jaguar XF which is better
Great review Thomas, so detailed and done in a interesting manner :-) I think I will buy one of these soon, not new of course, Thomas, how do you rate this against the new XC60 ? are they close ? or is the newer version leap years ahead ? Thank you.
Checking in 10 years later, yes it still looks Morden good prediction 👍
one of the best choices in its class, elegant , timeless design, great safety features, and upmarket feeling... Volvo keep up the good work
Marijan Matic I can just agree. Even if its not new, still great.

Thanks !!! Really beautiful car !!!
Great review. Very informative and entertaining. Do all of the Volvos have LED lighting these days?
+jeffrx Thanks jeff!! Never from standard equip. You can just get them optionally.
Very awesome for explained
I think tan leather ages better than black. That siren noise was quite distracting. I wish you took off road to test 2 wheel drive dynamics.

A head-up-display and the infotainment system of the new XC90 would be nice to have in the XC60.
Richie50MTB I think the new features wont be included in the XC60, it's too old for that. We can expect that in the new smaller SUV from Volvo.
*****
Is there a possibility for you to test the XC60 drive-e T6?

+D Flemming i d say no
It is a beautifull car. Thanks for your review.
Wonder if it can match my 2012 vw touran in interior space.
+Shakil A. Shakar thanks! Hmm... the XC60 is quite big for a compact SUV, so you have a lot of space. However the Touran sits lower and is more fitted to person transport

U mean how I rate it against the new generation xc60 ? That review will come now very soon
Cheers, will look forward to it :-)
Excellent!!!
Which version is this ? R design?
RTTabyn Normal one.
I can't find this colour, I you sure it's Java?
+Robert Tarn yeah pretty sure. Colours change however and they differ from market to market in the name!
+Robert Tarn Here in the states that color is called Twilight Bronze and the Java is a darker richer brown color.....Maybe that will help :)
