Capcom really marketed C. Viper as arguably the face of Street Fighter IV a lot even appearing in multiple crossovers but I just wonder what happened to her? I feel like since Juri came along C. Viper quickly faded into obscurity and Juri replace C. Viper as the most popular newcomer of Street Fighter IV.
I only remember C. Viper appearing in MvC3. Even Alex had more crossover appearances

On another note if C. Viper is the best Capcom can do in terms of an anti-hero well then the brand is better off ditching her.

@@firejoe283 I think it's the "Freaky" factor for Juri. Some guys are into having a little bit of the crazy in their women, I guess. I don't it's simply because she looks hot, which she does. Besides, when Juri and Viper came out, it was something new that fans could gravitate to. Up until then, it was always either Chun-Li or Cammy. Sakura and the other characters really didn't count for a whole bunch of appeal.

I like C. Viper rivalry with Chun-Li and Cammy similar to Juri especially since we never had female rivalries in Street Fighter before until Street Fighter IV and Sakura and Karin don't count cause they best friends Chun-Li, Cammy, C. Viper also Juri rivalries be involving death.
Capcom clearly wanted Viper to become a new female icon in SF4. Where the female (just in general) breakout star of Street Fighter 4 was Juri
i definitely remember c. viper being the newcomers of 4 that was really popular and like a lot of her such as her technology being a shout out to captain commando and being the 1st mother in street fighter.
but definitely can see why juri overtook her with how bluntly evil at first yet intriguing for her hidden depths that eventually became a anti hero while c. viper attempted to be an anti hero but felt more like a hypocrite with her helping seth nearly achieve his goal like letting ryu nearly lose himself to the satsui no hado after brutally attacking cammy.
kidnapping eliza to set off ken and does questionable actions like almost keeping chun li and cammy from stopping s.i.n(that could've given shadaloo's return a more dangerous edge.) that it's hard to feel sympathy for her doing it to protect her daughter(that wouldn't be hard to see as karma she gets attacked a lot in 5/if in 6 the villains groups kidnapped lauren with others refusing to help c. viper after her actions.)/her soft spots(like her win quote to abel/cody) being too hidden with her attitude towards others calling her out that the comics handle way better showing her care for others & actually helping stop s.i.n.
and agree she in hindsight really is close to a rip off of vanessa without her charm as while also worked for a evil organization nest she was heroic & rather smart handling things even with finding out she was used to help destroy nest that she became the 1st female to win kof still helping everyone with her charmingly confident personality and being a more badass competent secret agent while with c. viper they probably would need to address her actions as i do like in 5 she's also hunting for Q according to the cfn database/would like if she was teamed up with juri(them sitting their booties on gold coins like a throne while cackling with sharp teeth is still so funny.:3) as they do in the comics playfully sassing each other.
C.Viper was among the few newest characters I really gravitated towards at the release and time of the Street Fighter IV game (Among "Poison" "Juri", "Rose" and some others.

Here being left out 2 times is crazy. I barley seen Juri being played in Sf4 but Viper was everywhere.
Cammy needs her payback on C. Viper for disabling her would love to see them cross paths again I feel like C. Viper can be a rival of Cammy in the same manner as Juri is to Chun-Li though C. Viper not evil Cammy and Chun-Li probably still has hostility towards her from their previous encounters.
I remember questioning her design when she debuted, as I felt her attire reminded me more of KoF characters then street fighter.
Viper was an amazing character though, I wished they brought her back in sfv, as she was an active character in this part of the timeline.
Yes. She was very clearly an attempt to ape aspects from SNK's Vanessa (appearance and occupation), Blue Mary (use of hidden weapon) and seth (only In self defense, don't even know if Viper is supposed to be black or not).
Crimson Viper seriously needs to return her working for the CIA I feel she should be in subsequent installments like Chun-Li and Cammy are being all 3 of their jobs are the same.

Maybe she'll appear in SF6 as in one of the doubtless to come future character waves. SF6 has some done some wonderful work revamping and reinvigorating characters, particularly Dee Jay, so I think C Viper without a minor face lift could do well.
It was such a Tragic that C. Viper was completely Overshadowed by Juri Han even from all of that Marketing they been through trying to push this Character in Vanilla SF4's Heyday, while she has been Playable in only 2 Games like SF4 and MVC3 and has Cameoed throughout the Series, C. Viper has never become Playable ever again, unless she can if they'll eventually bring her as DLC in SF6 since it's Lifespan is still Young.

She is currently investigating Q, so it's almost a guarantee for C.Viper to be back in SF 6, especially that I know that her gameplay actually can fit in the Street Fighter 6's Drive System and gameplay mechanics as well as knowing that her appearance can fit in the Street Fighter 6's Urban Street Art aesthetics very well so it's a distinct possibility for her return.
C. Viber was to vanilla I think. She looked like an KoF character. AKI has more personality and style.
Hoping for a SF6 revitalization of her. Loved her in both SF4 and UMVC3. Hopefully she'll be in one of the next seasons of DLC...
When they had c viper in mvc3 I knew they meant business. Kind of sad. I miss that capcom.
Not going to lie, I never really liked C. Viper. It's not her fault, she just didn't appeal to me. Much like Abel, Fuerte, or ...Ugh... Rufus, they just didn't gel with me. Now Hakon and Juri...that's another thing!

With so many older and classic characters getting a fresh new design in SF6, C. Viper coming back in the game’s DLC could give her a chance at regaining her lost popularity with a new look, improved fighting mechanics, and an amazing story for her.

I am not the most talented fighter but grew up loving these games especially on the Dreamcast along with all thos mash-up games and snk special games and I totally agree that she feel like a snk character that could had been in one of the SNK VS CAPCOM games.
YUP. Her jump and feint shenanigans, her odd combo-structure and aerial gameplay, despite the "don't jump" nature of SF4. Very much felt like she'd come over from KoF for a visit.
C Viper was probably a failure if she was designed to appeal to Western aesthetics. I can hardly imagine a character who looks less like a Western dev created her. She is the most Japanese thing I have ever seen. She's wearing cross earrings, yellow powergamer shades, she's got massive sideboob reveal and wears a business powersuit with stilettos, a detachable throwaway collar and a tie done all the way up. She's got a neon red hair with one single, enormous dreadlock, works as a professional spy, and attacks using jet boots and electric fists.

Her design was the problem. C. Viper turning out to be a spy is suppose to be a twist but I figured that was the case at first glance. She would have worked better if she had a hardsuit like Vanessa Schneider from P.N.03.
C. Viper creation was obviously inspired by Vanessa from The King of Fighters and possibly Sharon from the EX series but C. Viper more interesting than both of them I would love to see her return her investigating JP is already a story for her.

She should’ve came back in SF6. You’d think with a new psycho power threat and M. Bison himself coming back that C. Viper would’ve made a return. Capcom needs to start taking care of their older characters tbh. So many forgotten names.

@@joemart6887 I get that but at the same time I kinda don’t fully agree with it. New characters like Jaime, Luke, Marisa, Manon, are cool but ones like JP, Lily, and Kimberly aren’t. It’s cool when the characters are NEW, new fighting style, abilities, and moveset. not rip off versions of the original. The only case where this doesn’t really matter is the shoto characters. Because they all have the same format of moves but they all play and look different. Kimberly literally has the same moves Guy does. Would’ve much preferred to see what Guy was up to instead of getting a new character just to ignore him.

She needs a return. I thought get it in 5 with her cameos, but no dice. I'd not be against SF6 as DLC, but not sure which season. I got others on my wish list for season 2. R. Mika, Sean, and Mike Haggar is top the list for me.
I really like C. Viper and I was into her little rivalries with Chun-Li and Cammy since they all work for organizations involving world threats but C. Viper must be seen again it's been long overdue now we all know Juri overshadowed her in popularity but Crimson Viper still got her fans who really want her back she should always fit in the stories since she's a spy.
She needs to return to Street Fighter 6. I want to see her with the new realistic graphics along with Rose.
That’s cause like real women one can shine at a time, Street Fighter 4 had to many women. Juri was the only who stood out as an Antitheses to Chun-Li. Rose had her time in Alpha and Crimson Viper need more time for development she basically is Cammy but Americanized.

Design wise, I've always hated C. Viper's hairstyle. I feel the Amy Winehouse hairstyle keeps her locked in a time when that hairstyle was popular. When Capcom brings her back, I hope they give her a new hairstyle that can grow with her.

I always liked her design. She and Abel are easy to recognize and were the coolest new designs. Was Jury better? I felt her design was too busy and more KOF than SF. If Jury became more popular it might be cuz she's evil Chun Li and there was no Korean presence or martial art to represent in SF.

C Viper was the new female face of Street Fighter and the anti hero version of Chun Li before the villainous version of Chun Li arrived in the form of Juri. Because Juri is far more popular than Viper, Viper's role in Street Fighter has diminished and Juri is pushed to the main event scene. Hence her only canon appearance is Street Fighter 4 while Juri is in every Street Fighter game since her debut albeit she was DLC in Street Fighter 5.

C. Viper atleast did'nt fail to impress, as one of the more technical character in the SF4 series. Maybe too technical for some.
Juri on the other hand was on another level, maybe if Capcom had continued push C's sex appeal she'd be one of the greatest fictional MILFs second only to Stifler's mom.
