Thanks brother. Taking me back through our childhood. What a wonderful childhood it was. We played in the creek and ran those mountains. Kids today have no idea what they’ve missed out on. I really enjoyed it brother! ❤ I remember your time in the fire department and rescue squad. You dedicated a lot of your time in that community. I know you did it all from your heart. So many memories!! ❤

Dan thank you for your service, humble video. I know it hurts to go back, my wife's father lived, in the curve where the old, old High school is, not across the river. Lived in a two story white house on the hillside. I bet when we where small, we probably stood side by side talking to each other, in the 5 and dime store. Probably looked at the same toy, wanting it and shared bubble gum out of the machines, at the front. I remember, from the tracks back towards Panther and going into town. Cars would be backed up that far. God Bless you Pal, (Glen). WV.

Dan, I know what you are talking about. My home town, Grundy, Virginia is almost all gone. Only a few buildings still
exist. In flood proofing, they destroyed over three fourths of the town and built a Wall Mart. I could talk all day about that old town and how much I loved it! You have a great channel, and I never miss any of your videos. Thanks for this great video!

This is sad. There is no way around it. The loss is felt more keenly than any gain. One difference, to me, is that they built better, more attractively, than today. Maybe, of course just an old man's memory. Anyway, thanks again. This sense of loss is, I suspect , universal. It is common to many countries. Is there any country in the world where the population of country towns is increasing ? Maybe not now. But the future, like the present, is unpredictable. From Australia. Thanks again. Appreciated.

Someone was swaying in the porch swing. Thanks. Sad to see empty buildings. Think of all the bulldozing of trees to slap up some apartment buildings.

I liked the video, but wish you had gone more into detail about how our home town use to be with the type business that use to be there. I saw the part in the video showing the new city hall. I still cannot understand why the town mayor insisted on having a new city hall built when there is little to no business left there in town, even the bank and post office relocation outside the main town onto route 52. Just driving trough town shows a lot of empty buildings that are unsafe to live in. Sorry it just hurts to see the town this way an the mayor and city council not doing anything to bring life back into our little town or once a piece of Heaven.
