Death end re;Quest 2 from Idea Factory and Compile Heart's Galapagos RPG label is an unashamedly Japanese horror game for PC, PlayStation 4 and Switch. Following the tale of Mai Toyama, an abused teen who murdered her father, the game weaves a mysterious narrative sure to intrigue whether or not you're familiar with the first entry in the series... so long as you're on board with its distinctive way of doing things.

i love how this review tells me enough about the story to get me intrigued, as someone unfamiliar with the first game, but never reveals too much about the plot. I'll definitely have to play this one for myself sometime!!

Thanks! It can be a tricky balance to strike sometimes as there are lots of interesting things about the plot of this one that I'd love to talk about, but given the niche interest nature of this game I figured it was probably best to try not to spoil things and convince people to give it a go for themselves :)

I finally got a Digital Copy of Death End re:Quest tonight, had been wanting to try it for years but never got around to it, surprised that ganes like this still exist, but man, that intro was horrible, with her being brutally murdered by that monster ... ☠️🤮😭
