The fact that Ruka's main skill is Dancing (probably Main Dancer position) and only learn to rap when she trained in YG. It takes a huge amount of courage to show your self written rap performance when you know damn well you are a great dancer.

@@shinobione2575huh? She's not technically a rapper, she just became a rapper when she trained in YGE, but overall she's still good considering she's a Japanese and rapping in korean language is still a big achievement, and the fact that she can even write her own rap lyrics says it all.

Ruka embodies the OG YG style of performance and rapping. I think that’s why YGE chose to use this performance of Ruka. She really has the stage presence and attitude of CL X GD when doing these “IN YOUR FACE” kind of songs. While she has the abilities and talent to do that, there is totally more to her than that. To call her “least impressive” is quite harsh… I get that it is your opinions and preferences as well this is your first impression. But there’s a reason why she was saved for last and that’s because she best represent YG in the group.
Anyways, as other comments said.. some of these videos were for 2 years ago and as you can tell were monthly evaluations. They all have improved since then and will get better with more experience.

Sorry Ruka isn't touching CL or GD's charisma but she has her own color which is more important than being the next so-and-so.

I AM AWARE that she is still young and will improve as she gets older and have more experience. However, I’m still going to say that out of the members it is true that she does embody the OG YG style and confidence. Of course she’s going to be HERSELF and make her own name in the industry.
All 3 rappers in BABY MONSTER have their own charm and uniqueness. Ahyeon has that sassy attitude with good vocals, Asa is the spitfire rapper with that chill vibes, and Ruka is very natural on stage and has a unique rap flow with good cadence.
She wasn’t good Asa was the only one good and she still ain’t quite as good as Cocona.
@@shinobione2575 everybody has their preferences and opinions. There’s other reactors who prefer Ahyeon’s rap compared to both Asa and Ruka. I like Ruka’s cadence and stage presence that is very OG YG, but I think Asa is the spitfire rapper, but she has such a cool demeanor. Ahyeon has the sass and best pronunciation when she raps because she learns/picks up languages fast. So she sounds more clear and fluent than Ruka and Asa. They all have their different charms and because I support all of them.. I don’t compare them or say who’s better like it’s a competition.
The comment on rora's breath control was so weird? She actually has amazing breath control! I don't think y'all are appreciating the raw vocals enough

tbh as much as I love watching their reactions I have noticed that they always have these critics of YG artists at first view/reactions , especially the one in the background whom they called as 1080p ..I never heard her saying it's good even on Blackpink's song.

She has the biggest support among them (along with chiquita) but she has the weakest breath control
And pharita is the weakest (support range) but her breath control is (AT LEAST FOR ME) one of the best among all kpop idols

Rora's issue is not breath control but her enunciations to the words. It seems like she's trying to create a unique style by enunciating the words lazily. I felt iffy about it too. Regardless, her voice is solid.

Well that's what I thought too and kinda a little bit annoying to hear cursive style of voice tbh, but nevertheless I really love the RnB vibe she brought there, that's a very sexy voice to me. She just need to give more pronunciation to her vocal and with that, she will be the true monster as well.

@@kristangrande8338 Not just trainees, but I also heard that from some pop or indie singers, I forgot the names but I remember that I have ever heard this technique before. If it's good or not, that depends on how they place that cursive tone at some parts of song as if it suits the aesthetics or the atmosphere that they try to present in the song.

Wow really. I don't think you 2 gave Haram enough credit just because it's a popular song. She made the song her own. Her take on the song was amazing and that is how an artist/singer should be, and should do. Haram owned it. The way she sung it is a different stylistic way of singing that represents her. Similar to Billie Eilish style, but Haram's tone is unique. She has her own little flare and tang. The way she sang each syllables fits the mood of the song so well with just the piano. The emotions....everything was there, so I don't know what you guys were on cause...…..🙄

Not sure how you think Ruka didn’t show her personality? She’s obviously a hip-hop hype girl and she showed three different kinds of flow. It may not have been the best but she def showed what she enjoys. Just not understanding how you mentioned some didn’t show stage presence and then you completely dismiss Ruka’s obvious natural ability and confidence. 🤷🏽♂️ Still enjoyed your reactions and opinions. 👍🏼
I kinda feel that they're being so critical about these kids who didn't even debut yet. I understand that they should always be honest, but I think it's too much to even compare their styles and label them as the least impressive when I think they're showing off their variety of flows and presence. I heard worse, even from some idols who debuted and didn't even sing live for the life of them. They should at least be objective in their criticisms. Not like, I don't like the rendition, I don't like the method something. This channel is way too "cool" for me.

Sorry to disagree on this, based on their ages to gave a such of performances ie: dance, sing , rap is superb.. they would be something big in future. Believe in progression. No fair to compare them to the already build up and successful artist. Compare apples to apples.

I don't necessarly disagree with some of the comments you made about Ruka's performance but I think the comparison with Asa is a bit harsh. Asa did a cover of Joyner Lucas remix of Look Alive, it was dope but it really was a cover when Ruka's performance was more personnal in the interpretation as she used her flow and even her lyrics in some parts. After watching her introduction video, I don't feel like it's really the type of song that fits her style of rap (her own korean rap on Peaches instrumental would have been a better choice for me but it's less "in your face") but she probably wanted to showcase something different.
Also, some of their performances are old as it's monthly evaluation footage. The dance performance was confirmed to be 2 years old (reason why Thai members are missing) and most of the performances are between one year and 6 months old.

As a Joyner Lucas fan, I am disappointed in myself… I knew this sounded familiar. Especially with the Diddy bars. Damnit. SMH. 😂😂😂. But yeah these were just our gut reactions. I’m sure we will find learn more about Ruka.
Actually Some of the lyrics were change. Even if it wasn't ASAs original rap. She took it home. Ruka was good but I agree with the guys ASA ate this and took at hers. ASA did an outstanding performance and confidence was all there.
@@AmbitiousAce616 Yeah and I share the same feeling as you guys, I also prefered Asa's performance over Ruka but knowing the original, it helped me reduce a bit the gap I felt between the two performances (and having Ruka introduction right after, I saw that she has more to offer than this performance)

Asa's delivery in english was better than Ruka, tahts a fact, cover or not. Ruka's performance is a bit weak because of the first beat, its just hard to make flows in that beat. The Gwola one was much better.
Asa, Ruka and Haram's performance was not evaluation but performance to pre debut, but we know that the debut was postponed at least 1 year, such as that the introduction videos dosent contain performances of evaluations of 2022.

I think the problem with Ruka's live performance is the song choice. I went to listen to the original version after and I didnt like it either 😭 It seems like the company chose to post that video mostly because she has the typical 'YG style' and has one of the strongest stage presence in the group so they wanted to showcase her charisma instead of a more laid-back performance which focuses more on her rap skills like Asa. Also I think she really doesn't fit english rap like Asa does, after hearing her other rap covers in her introduction video Ruka shines the most in korean raps! I'm really looking forward to how much the group will improve with time, after all they're still super young !!
I watched all these performances as they came out and it took a little time to accept it but Asa standing out so much made it that much harder for me to enjoy the last 3 because they just weren’t her and I felt judgy and stupid for thinking that way but now I realize that that’s okay. She has something special and different and that really should be the standard for what is the new girl group from a huge company.

These are monthly evaluations that the trainees performed that are several years old mostly, so your reactions aren't surprising but you do have to account for their age (which range from 13 to 16 being the majority). I don't know how many 15/16 yr olds that you all are around, but I personally thought each one showed some talent and why YG picked them.

not many other idols can process singing techniques like that, like they really are monsters and their group has a very different sound tone and has its own characteristics.

Every each of their performance actually are not focus of how good the song direction is, it's actually focus on how well their vocal direction capable of on that genre of the song, it's focus on the technique that can do to the specific genre of the song that they decide to performs personally and how well they can do after been trained for many years. Like me, i don't like some of their song choices because i don't like the song, but the way every single one of them perform it with their vocal technique is very impressive for me at such a young age.

same, what other people dont understand is that Pharita consistently carries her high tone without exerting her volume nor doing falsetto and it is one of the hardest things to pull off. her volume is consistent from her low registers to her high notes. she can pull off high notes without screaming is what i am trying to say.

RUKA DOESN'T HAVE A GOOD RAP TONE. Yeah she can write lyrics, but thats it. She's def a top tier dancer though.

When it comes to first song I agree, that's a wrong song that doesn't suit her much, but I love the second one since it's very way more pleasurable for me to hear from Ruka and she's comfortable there.
Ruka definitely has a good tone though, as for me it's a matter of song choice that gives us the ick for not liking it. I've watched her introduction video and so far they gave us some of her rap cover and it was all good even though they've just shown us a little.

My assessment of Ruka's rap is that this song is not very interesting, let's see other songs, but the stage performance is typical of YG
Please give your producer (?) a mic since you always ask and talk to her about her opinion, but we can't hear or understand anything she is saying. Besides that, this reaction was hard to watch in parts, especially when you criticized stylistic choices as "(lack of) technique" ("breath control" with Rora for example)? And you also didn't recognize the (legendary) original rap that ASA covered with her rap? Of course, you're reactors not vocal/rap/dance coaches and different tastes are fine. So honesty is always better than faking enthusiasm when its not there.
I agree that Asa stands out the most with her rap performance (clever song choice). As far as vocalists go: Rora and Haram. But all 7 are scary good in their own ways, especially considering their young age. I felt a bit underwhelmed about the rap in Ruka's performance as well and also didn't like the (over-)production of her showcase, but her amazing stage presence still came through. She also stands out in their group dance performance (no wonder since she is mainly a dancer). Having seen her introduction video I'm convinced, that she is also a great rapper (writing interesting lyrics for her raps as well). So thx to her introduction she became one of my favorites.

I can’t lie you can’t really compare Ruka and ASA rapping because they have different rap styles. It’s like comparing ballet to street dance. I get you can have your preference but I think it’s unfair to compare them and say it was least impressive.
i agree w y’all. ruka had my least favourite performance yet but i didn’t dislike it, i just liked the other ones much more. but in the video „Introduction to Ruka“ I kinda liked her rapping more because she had more flow.
and for haram I actually liked the way she sung it a lot. (imo)
same i think they chose the wrong song bcz the lyrics weren’t it, i liked her raps in her introduction far more better
same i like how haram's delivery, also the reactors was pertaining about vibrato, vibrato is a technique to volume out your voice

The middle one was annoying when he said pharita and ruka where the least impressive first ruka was the most liked bcz her rapping style was just like yg artists style she got a lot of comments saying that her rap style is like g dragon from big bang and hyunsuk from treasure and pharita her vocals were outstanding all their performance was impressive they all did great it's just annoying u said that

for a 13-20 yrs old i say they are good and they are still growing so i'm excited to see them grow...these are for their monthly evaluations sort of monthly audition so as not to be cut off. The songs they covered are obviously not designed to copy per se the original, its made to suit their voices and individual style
Didn't YG tell us to judge them, so I think they gave good critique. They didn't say anybody was terrible, they can't rap or sing. Ruka was my least favorite one of the evaluations also. I'm all about YG style but this wasn't it for me. I wasn't feeling it at all. I know these are from about a year or whatever ago, so for me, she might have grown from this. I haven't watch the intro videos yet, so I don't know anything about them. But I just interested on how the they will be as a group
Everyone have their own preference for someone who like hip-hop like me will pick ruka as a bias n someone who like vocalist will definitely pick another member.
80% people like them all this is why they are the most popular pre debut group so chill and wait for their debut.
And the thing is she is main dancer and stage presence queen and lead rapper. I agree that the first rap doesn't suit her and she lack pronouncing the diction but the second rap literally made me go crazy 🛐💗
Yeah I also thinks the same... Since she was and trained for Hiphop dancing I think she would have done a LOT better job in dancing but since every other members was doing either rap or singing it's ok she still have time to showcase her talents it haven't even started 😄🙌I'm rooting for them

Even without all the explanation that others have, but just on the first watch of their performance video I like Ruka's perf than Asa. Simply because Ruka was really performing and taking over the stage while Asa was showcasing her rap skills.
Totally agree. Ruka was like a professional rap performer hyping up the crowd whereas Asa was just delivering rap lines (although super well done).

Age is also such a crap reason. What happens in future is what it is. No one knows yet. More importantly, the performance is here and now.
Look at vocals. The one I like most is Chiquita. She tells a story to my soul. She was 13 then and 14 now. Age doesn't matter.
