  • By putting these "dots" on your silnylon groundsheet hopefully it will
help prevent your mat sliding about everywhere!

When I had mixed some silicone with mineral spirits to seam seal my Stratospire 1 Tarptent, I used a good bit at the end to "paint" stripes crosswise on the tent floor to accomplish the same thing. It is thin enough to be invisible, yet keeps my air mattress in place during the night. I was out in the woods with it this week and got some dirt inside the tent; I didn't notice the dirt had stuck to the silicone noticeably at all. I'm liking it!

yes, I was sealing SpeedMid and thought quick to bivy too! I heard it on web somewhere. I'd imagine the silnet sealant is available in UK. maybe just plain silicone will work. once try it I'll let you know not that I'm a big bivy fan prefer to be more open. keeps bugs at bay :)
    thanks for watching Ant

That's the "proper" way to do it :-)
Mine was quick and hassle free ;-)
Thanks for sharing, others may like your way.

Your way was fine, it was just convenient to do it for me at the same time. Have you tried it yet to see how big a difference it makes? I never slide round on my pad anymore. Hey I just love your videos Tony, I wish I were near there to go out wild camping with you, but I'm in Phoenix, Arizona USA. I lived in Upper Heyford, UK for 4 years back in the 80s though, and my son was a foreign exchange student in Wolverhampton UK. Keep up your videos, I share some of the same gear as you do. Cheers!

Hi there what does this stick like?
I just used seam grip to repair my ground sheet, and it is just peeling straight off.

Seam grip won't work on silnylon.
I think you need a silnylon glue like silnet maybe.

I'm sure silicon will work but test a bit first!!!
