With all the other videos you're regularly putting out I don't know where you'd find the time to do anything else! I had an idea though, notnsure if it's practical but while your taking your time building it, you could put tiny updates about it at the end of a video, if you had any. Or put a short out every so often showing small aspects of the ongoing build? I've seen other channels who have long, on-going stop animation projects going do that. Then when completed or finished a section, bring a longer video out. Don't know if that translates to a project like this. I'm happy whenever, but your predicament reminded me of that. 🙂
Any rc enthusiast that builds an rc understands what is needed to complete a very complex build such as that. The channel is awesome. It will really epic when’s it’s done
@@TomleyRCI totally understand. I often think on filming but with my limited time for such things I got caught in the process and it's done. My last crawler did take me a week to build. Not that I'm slow but family involved i would say and free time when I'm tired af😅
As a scratch builder I can really appreciate the taking of time, some days, weeks, months it just gets a good coat of looking at but it's where my mind wanders and takes me on an adventure just imagining my builds as they are being created👌even if much isn't getting done👍
That look coat, is the one that, for me, gives motivation, and brings out the creativity, to help guide you to the finish line, and looking good when you get there. It's a sign of wisdom, knowing how important it is, to just look at what you're doing for a time.
Definitely not a project to rush at this point. Do appreciate the update on it, wouldn’t mind a part 3 before it’s finished to be honest. Looks really cool!
Dude, this thing is going to be absolutely insane. Like banana level insanity! Yes, you are not at all on a deadline. I bet I speak for the less douchey section of your subs, when I say, we can wait til you're done, no rush my guy. Thanks for the update, and being candid with us about the timeframe. I feel ya there. If it's not fun, relaxing or even enjoyable, why do it? Life is too short to be under the gun on YOUR time, as well as the job during the day/night, or whenever you gotta go make da scratch.
Lets be honest here, your probably never going to build another one. Take your time, enjoy the build, thank you for sharing it with us! PS - I still keep checking to see if there's been an update video 😂😂
Take your time. Anyone who has done any kind of scale modelling or diorama building will fully appreciate that this project is not like your typical RC car that can be finished in a weekend. This kit cost a small fortune and it wouldn't be right to do any less than the best you can with it. If it were mine I'd plan on getting several months of enjoyment out of building and painting it. Looking forward to seeing it when it's done of course, but there's plenty else to watch in the meantime.
I figured with as massive as it is and all the parts when you initially showed it you were overwhelmed trying to paint and detail the body. Good work so far!
I'm was not surprised with this video, people do not realize the hours that go into a build like this and this one is an incredible kit. I build sometimes from scratch and it not weeks but months spent working on it. Take your time to get it how you want it and it will look incredible.
part of the fun of building them is the challenge, but definitely dont make yourself rush. relax and enjoy building it. i'll just be happy to see the finished product when you are done with it.
I've taken five technic Legos builds fully back apart and built my own mad max style vehicles. I understand the time it takes. I also build model cars and trucks for a hobby. Plus work on actual cars and trucks as well with a full time job on overnights.
Don't feel pressure from us. We'd love most to see you enjoy the process and are happy to follow along at your pace. Thanks for taking the time to document this properly, this is a bad ass build!
I’m not a struggling doctor, I have patients. I watched fingerprints workshops fiero restoration. Took 2 years with videos about every month and half. Loved it
The anticipation has been worth it, take your time, have fun, create it in your own mind, the only way is the way you want it, and I hope you keep this one, and have it on your channel once in a while maybe pulling a trailer picking up garbage on the beach that would be cool seeing it on the beach
Should never be under pressure doing something you enjoy, it’s not every day you can get your hands on a rig like that, you’ve been fortunate enough to have the opportunity, enjoy the process 😃👍💪🏼 No pressure, as long as it’s done for the weekend and we can get to see it, it’ll be all good 😂 Really looking forward to seeing this one!! 😎 enjoy
This is a cross between old school model building, an new school rc building. Absolutely love this.....❤❤❤ Take your time please, this will be so awesome when done.
I appreciate the update, really like the idea of the original paint then hitting it with the satin black and giving it a sand down for that sorta patina mad max look. It'd look amazing if it had some battle scars, some war wounds but I also completely understand not wanting to intentionally basically "damage" the body in any way.
I am not a fan of deadlines and due dates myself, so, for at least one long time subscriber, no pressure here. You run an amazing RC channel, and I enjoy all your videos. You have a lot going on, and that is not small undertaking as far as an RC build goes. I love your Mad Max approach to the paint ideas, if I had any suggestions, it wouldnt be much more than give the guns some muzzle flash discoloration, to stay in theme with your body paint job. Keep up the great work, thanks for the update, and dont let anyone/anything ruin your enjoyment with your hobby. If people want to get impatient, they can get their own!
Basher content, tribute builds, military builds, tamiya builds, crawling content, speed runs, reviews, custom builds etc etc ect. You EARNED your sub count, and thats without the kiddies watching. Great stuff bro.
I consider myself a "seasoned" builder and I've just built the Cross RC Demon SG4C . That is a 1:10 crawler/trail truck and that has taken over a week . It's all about the detail with this brand .
As much as I and others can't wait to see it finished, definitely don't put yourself under pressure. Take all the time you need, and it's something to look forward to some point down the line chill my friend 😁
Take your time, if you lose your passion for the project it will show in the videos too. I love this build and want to see it done right. 99% of us could never do a build like this.
I'm in the same boat. It is such a slow build. I'm not sure how you're doing it in the cold since every time I work on mine, it's a 2 to 4 hours minimum. Great progress. You are way ahead of me. 👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Phil, take your time. I know you enjoy what you build and the attention to detail you always put into everything. Looking forward to seeing it done when it's done. 😊
I've just watched part 1 and 2 again this morning, then lo and behold, part 2.35 comes out! Can't wait to see part 3. Paint job sounds awesome. 2000-3000 grit wet and dry seems to work sell for taking off 1 layer at a time. Takes longer, but it'll be worth it in the end
That's one thing that's really cool about this hobby you're able to take your time and do as you want and like you said in another video you know you've got yourself to that place where you can accept what you want and what you don't so yeah just do what you want
Going to be an amazing truck. Would like to see it loaded up with a scale 1 : 10 4x4 or something, kinda used as a transport or recovery vehicle with a winch, just to show the power of the motors and the grip of the 10x10!
like the old adage, measure twice cut once, it's worth taking your time to get it just right, it afterall is your project, not anyone else's, it's going to be worth the wait and again I wish I had one....😊
Ngl, when you first announced this build, I expected like at least a Part 8.... The assumption that you'd have it done in 3 parts is extremely ambitious!!! And we really just wanna see *the* *machine*, not necessarily heaps of progress in every single vid!! Like yes PLEASE take your time with this, Enjoy it!! Have fun!!! We just wanna be included on this journey is all!!!
It's looking fantastic already, Phil! Amazing work! 😃 But you don't need to finish it in 3 parts either. Do 7, 8 parts! Whatever it takes. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Nah, mate I knew when you got stuck into this project just how massive a scale this build would be. Honestly, take your time. Yes, people are impatient about needing entertainment but the reality is that this massive thing just has so many parts to glue, paint and assemble that there’s no way to do it all quickly. I enjoy seeing this build and as someone who’s owned trains in the past, the aesthetic of seeing a massive RC with a train cab on it is awesome. But seriously, I can hold out because I know it’ll be that much more awesome when it’s completed.
Looks awesome. I just finished building mine and I will give you a few tips. Make sure you go over those steering components with Loctite. Good Loctite. And you should Make that hole a little bit bigger in the middle of the truck going down the center it doesn’t have enough room for the wires the pass-through and the transmission selector will get jammed up in it. I’ve had a few problems with the lighting system, but overall the truck isn’t nice build.
Man!!! You know we are here for the ride getting there 😎 Both the build and your channel are really amazing, like a good wine. Rushing will only spoil it 😉
It’s really looking good so far , wow! It’ll be an ACCOMPLISHMENT in itself (as far as RC is concerned) for real. And you are a perfectionist about certain things so I know the finish/detail work will be stellar when you’re finished 👍
Poor guy.. this is a long term build - don’t forget to stare at it, for days! That’s how the (right) ideas come.. I’ve my TRX-6 90% readily modded now, have been staring at it for 4 months.. I got new ideas, and it will be ready in a couple of months.. That was RTR to start with.. 😂 Grab the new reviews and have some pauses, it’ll do you and the build good Phil! Thanks for your effort🤘
You should make it so it can articulate in the center, just in front of the back 6 wheels, thing would be unstoppable. Toss some hinges on the bed and dial in your linkage so it doesn’t bind up
Great project, love this beast. FYI: the red with yellow stripes design is the national Hungarian color scheme for diesel locomotives (blue-yellow is for electric), just like the "M" nomenclature in the M62. (this model has the nickname "Szergej" in Hungary, referencing the Russian origin)

Before you do that black wash, be sure to clear coat it first. Otherwise it won’t rub off the way you want it to. It will just blend and smear. And make sure that the black is severely thinned out. Having to re-paint sucks.

Heads up you have to turn off the drag brakes on at least one motor or they fight each other. Get hot.

I wouldn’t call myself an RC enthusiast, but this is amazing! Can’t wait to check out the final product!
Interesting build. It incorporates both my main hobbies; building RCs and model kits.
TBH i had totally forgot about this project, but now i'm hyped again after watching this video.

Have fun with it man! It's an awesome model, and we're excited to see how it turns out.
Oh the joys of painting Cross RC trucks !! Enjoy. 😂
Chipping varnish and clear coat after the scratching is done, if you want a nice result
lovely project. Have a read up on "salting". It's a way of deliberately making rust spots and patina. I am so envious, this is a great build! 👍🍺🇬🇧
Great vid, thanks for the update a good approach to the project. Looks awesome but also daunting. Keep it up.

I understand that this project is moving slowly and it doesn't bother me at all. If you look at all the very small parts and if you push it and leave a part out that could be a disaster.
