Dude I love this album. I grew up with this shit!!!!
No
How about not promoting such shady companys with shitty cash grab games, eh?
@@dmarc007dm he tryna get the $$ dont hate on him.
Nik you have to react to Orbit Culture - Open Eye
Nik, how have you not heard of this before?! Impossiblé!
Not impossible, i have never heard of it either. 😅
I was about to comment that
@@Jens_Roadster you clearly missed the joke
@@kionicxnm Nope. Don't care.
Big poser vibes
Count your blessings is such an underrated album, this and medusa are some of the best songs bmth has ever put out
Alot like Vegas, black and blue, Stevie wonders eyes only, count your blessings...this entire album is full of bangers
For real tho. Count Your Blessings was one of the best deathcore records of that era.
Also, holy fuck to that profile pic, never expected to find another Death fan in a comment section about BMTH lol.
@@AS34N black and blue, all time favourite off that album
@@trvezifer8837 understandable, the core fanbase doesn’t seem to get along well with the rest of the metal fanbase. I for one don’t get why a lot of them hate albums like this, this has a ton in common with melodic death metal
@@spiggly_digg yeah, me neither. Apparently it's not real metal because it has roots in hardcore? But who tf cares?
I myself listen to a lot of different stuff from punk rock and heavy metal over core to both classical and modern death metal, the only thing I can't really get into is black metal because of the unique style of vocals (not saying it's bad, just not for me). And I get so much shit for it. And I just don't understand it. Yeah, I like atmospheric, melodic stuff but I also like breakdowns, I can appreciate something more simple as much as I appreciate technical and complex riffage and song structures. What's wrong with that? Let people enjoy what they enjoy. What does it bother anyone else if you like different styles of music?
Sorry, that turned into a little rant. 😅
now for "Don't go" for the screaming feels are reals with Lights
Goddamn Right!
That whole album is underrated as shit, people give so much credit to sempiternal but imo There is a hell is waaaaay better. From beginning to end, specially crucify me and don't go ft lights, so well made. Was definitely Oli's peak in terms of screaming.
YES!!!
Lights is the GOAT. Don’t @ me
All of there is a hell 😭
I was 13 when this came out, it was heavier than a dying star back then
Nice
Medusa by BMTH is a MUST!!
Medusa will always be their best song
@derp derpin ok, boomer, we got ya, stop write copypasting comments. Its just your opinion. Nothing more, lol.
What about Off The Heezay? That's a banger too!
@@cnrse I am 14 and I agree with his opinion for the most part, with a. Few exceptions for Suicide Season
Así irá we 🥱😴
Pure happiness is Bring me the horizon and Nik
It's not that we expect you to know every single song ok earth. But being a musician, a metal musician at that, one would think you would at the very least heard one of Bring Me The horizon's biggest death core songs before they pissed everybody off and went softer than my chub😭😭
"unless you have never used the internet before, you have probably heard of raid" says the dude who is a metal musician who hasn't heard for Stevie wonder's eyes only 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The "Bitch" at the end of the song is definitely hilarious
I don't understand why this album was received with a bad reception when it came out. It's such a killer album
In retrospective it is
its because metal elitism was at its peak back then
@cultural_marxism_fan not like that has changed anyway
The metal community has always been burdened by elitism and that edgy obsession of proving yourself superior or more intelligent for listening to certain music, whether against mainstream or against each other lol.
Off the heezay is the true hit of CYB, worth checking out.
15 fathoms is the best part tho
Yeah, you know that.
That whole album is perfect. IMO their best work. I’m a fan of all their albums but count your blessing is my favorite in terms of vocals, guitars and drums. Production sucks tho
Hellllllll yessssssss
@@jayemm2323 What you mean about production sucks? I've heard that before but don't understand at all
Imagine what this would sound like if it was recorded in 2021, with Jordan's ingenuity 🤔
Sucks. not brutal
Oli can't scream like this anymore anyway. His screams change literally every year
It wouldn't be the same, it worked because of its rawness and simplicity, it would sound generic nowadays
@@frnndgrm6268 exactly
@@danumis_ pretty sure he can still do it, m shadows can still do sounding of the seventh trumpet and Matt tuck can still do the early poison songs. Vocal chords recover; thought people found this out when Danny ran out and did suicide silence better than Mitch.
BMTH really set the bar for deathcore/metalcore when they wrote shit like this.
suicide silence >>>
Lol I'm sorry but out of all of the metalcore/deathcore shit that came out at that time BMTH were far from the best at doing it.
@@Drewthemagnificent I think you all are forgetting this came out in 2006
During that time, the album with the most influence in metalcore was Hollow Crown by Architects. That album stood the test of time and to this day, the songs on it sound exceptionally good. Whereas, the first BMTH albums sound like any other deathcore from that time if you listen to them now.
@@gotgfanforever3013 Hollow Crown came out in 2009. 3 years after CYB, and 1 year after Suicide Season.
Black and blue is my favorite on that album lol the breakdowns are filthy
Dude, do Crucify Me next please
Goddamn Right!
Pure experience
Yes!!!!
Crucify me live at yahoo music, i think it's better than record album
Nail my hands to a wooden cross!!!!
The comedown from suicide season and it never ends from there is a hell are my suggestions
@derp derpin its almost like different people like different things. Imagaine that
@derp derpin oh oh someone who listens to brutal music
Funny how you say it's so weird that this is Oli to their old stuff. I say that about their new stuff.
"Kinda ABR" I've NEVER made that connection, but it ABSOLUTELY sounds like something off of Thrill Seeker.
The riffs def have that fun spice
I feel like the production doesn't hold up super well, but this album is fantastic. Just constant riffs and breakdowns. There Is A Hell is probably my favorite BMTH album.
I would love to see you react to older Underoath, like TOCS-era stuff. Haha.
its a shame he reacted to the music video cause the sound quality is even worse on it. Should've just gone with the audio.
Insane how this would cost thousands to produce back then but now anyone with a laptop and a DAW can make something sound much better for way way way less money and time.
@@microtonalmilio5233 Honestly, i dont think it cost thousands to produce, theres been albums dating back decades which sound better. it was probably just rushed and pushed out quickly and also partially intended to have this raw sound. The band wasnt exactly in the mindset back then.
It fucking kills bruh
suicide season is fucking dope too, it got like that special sound. i love it so much that vibe too
This is one of my fav songs off CYB and it was great seeing Nik's reaction
Reacting like we all didn't grow up in this album as a core kid lol nik, my dude..
right this album was a essential to have
He is a little on the younger side compared to most "scene kids" from back in the day
I actually got into BMTH during Sempiternal. My C0rekid years were more so AILD, BFMV, ATR, DISTURBED, etc :D
@@NikNocturnal nice man sempiternal is probably my personal favorite honestly love your videos dude!
Count Your Blessings is still one of my favorite deathcore albums. And those songs like Braille, TSNtWHD, Black & Blue and Medusa are so fun to play, you should try it.
The breakdown from Tell slater not to wash his d*ck by Bring Me The Horizon is a classic on the Count Your Blessings album. I recommend.
Oh also Sleep with one eye open by Bring Me The Horizon also has a sick breakdown, one of the best songs from the Suicide Season album imo.
Sleep with one eye open is one of the greatest BMTH songs of all time imo
MOVE
Sleep with one eye open got the heaviness but got the slightly cleaner sound as well, one of their best songs for sure
I love how youre like "How is this OLI?" but from my perspective listening to them from the OG days hearing TTS & AMO being like "THIS IS OLI!?" LOL
count your blessings is so so so so good
It’s crazy how it went from Count Your Blessings to Post Human.
Capture the Crown - You call that a knife..
Jamie’s Elsewhere - Antithesis
Make Me Famous.. man I could keep going 😂
The gloom in the corner - Misanthropic
Literally any song by Currents but the new album is dope. How I fall apart and Monsters are a few good ones
Polaris - Above my head
The word Alive - 2012 but the whole deceiver album was amazing. Telle really had some gnarly screams
Famous last words - to play hide and seek with jealousy
Ice Nine Kills - The greatest story ever told
We came as romans - intentions Rip Kyle 😞
Woe, is me - Vengeance
Breathe Carolina - Sellouts 😂
Capture The Crown was so good🔥
you say its weird to hear him like this, when i grew up with this album. so crazy how far they have came and how much they've changed.
A couple BMTH songs that would be good to react to is crucify me and home sweet hole. Just a recommendation
This whole album was gold. Pure gold.
btw, the track is also written in braille on the album cover lol.
We need Alligator Blood next!
That one I know VERY well actually. I wanted to do a guitar cover for it for a while
@@NikNocturnal do a tab for it ❤️
@@NikNocturnal I learned that song a while back it’s so fucking fun to play I love it so much
Just posted then saw this... So good
Oli literally screaming his heart, body and soul out.
Nik: 💃🕺💃🕺
You need to listen to Medusa. That’s probably the heaviest song on the album.
the fact that i remember how this song goes exactly even though i didn't listen to it for more than 10 years is crazy to me. HOW IS MY BRAIN CAPABLE TO REMEMBER THE SONGWRITING ON THIS OND
I thought you were joking about raid shadow legends lol
Gotta get that dough
Can hear the The Black Dahlia Murder influence
It was so weird growing up with this album and then they switched it to what they are now.
Fun fact, I used to work in a cinema in London, England and oli was a regular customer
the intro is the continuation for pray for plagues ending
Thing is, this album was such a beast back then, and it still is today, this is what got me into hardcore vocals
Yeah this is one of their best albums so yeah. Shits great
man, i just wish the audio quality was better, but shit's good
@@andreaslion5877 it's not awful, but you're right. It could be better
If you own the cd, the quality is way better.
Definitely. Shame they got so much hate until Suicide Season came out
@@masterknife8423 bmth got shit for almost every album when it came out iirc.
I remember seeing BMTH for their pray for plagues album US tour release with bury your dead.
Damn, Raid Shadow Legends has reached us even here
D:
God damn i love whe people start dipping into their old style for the first time i love it
Dude, check:
Job for a Cowboy - Entombment of a Machine
Through The Eyes of the Dead - Two Inches Artillery
On Broken Wings - I Do My Crosswords In Pen
I used to make out with medusa was my fav off the album. But count your blessings is there best metal album by far.
Dude, JINJER put out a new song today and it's DOPE
Meh, no es para tanto
That end breakdown it's pretty sick dude, I can't wait for the whole album.
@@MattOtxoa acabo de escucharla y sí tiene buen breakdown, está buenarda
Agreed
Meh, is quite meh
*I feel like there's not enough pinch harmonics XD*
^^^^
This takes me back to high school when a classmate asked what I was listening to. So I let them listen and I may have scarred them for life, who knows.
Fuck the shit they've turned to. Oldschool BMTH was a fucking beast. Great riffs and Oli's voice. Damn... That dude was fucking crazy back then.
I used to walk the halls of my highschool with this just blasting in my ears every day man
Pedal to the floor, reckless deathcore BMTH will always have a special place in my heart!
This album is a personal favorite of mine! It proves my personal theory that I thought of to be correct. I had an idea that you can like anything, regardless of how heavy it is if you listen to it a ton of times. Sure as shit, it worked like a charm for Count your blessings lol. Never thought I’d ever like music like this as it strayed far from my typical modern metalcore and deathcore tastes at the time, but now I appreciate every song on the album!
Dude, yess. This was one of the biggest gateway-metal songs for me back when Count Your Blessings dropped. Making me feel like freshman year in HS \m/
Can’t believe how versatile Oli’s voice is lol
You have to listen to Diamonds Aren’t Forever
We will never sleep
Cuz sleep is for the weak
and we will never rest
Till we are fooking dead
Ive said it before, and ill say it again!
yeah your right dude picking up count your blessings around that time it was a insane album for that time
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR HIM TO DO A VIDEO ON THIS SONG FOR SO LONG
This is their best album by far. Brings me back
I started listening to BMTH when I was 13 or 14 (2004/5) when Traitors Never Play Hangman music video came out and I was mind blown. Was a huge fan during that time. For Stevie Wonder’s Eyes Only was one of my all time favorites. The opening lyric is “It’s 3:18” and ever since first hearing this song, and still to this day, whenever I randomly decide to look at the time, it’s 3:18 a good majority of the time 😂 so yeah this song has stuck with me for many years.
4:03
Nik: Give me some brrrs!
Oli: *BRRRS!*
Its mad how far they've come. I first went to see them when they toured CYB and I thought it was the best thing if ever heard at the time. I've really grown up with them and my taste in music has evolved with the band. I listen to this now and don't understand why I liked it so much 🤣 it's so iconic for the era though
One of my favorite, and black and blue is great, I love the count your blessings album
Kinda unbelievable how their Sound evolved since the old days😉🤘
^^^ true
Old Architects are so goooood too. Early Grave and Dethroned by far my favourite older songs
Nik I love that your listening to old skhool deathcore music i highly recommend listening to architects ep/ album especially the song "in the desert" that song used to melt my face when I was younger as well as born of Osiris first recording of bow down, god this brings back a lot of memories and with your enthusiasm this just makes those memories even more EPIC
Headbangable.. word of the year. This is how I will forever rate songs from now on.
Count your blessing era fuck yeeees
Just now seeing this video but this will forever be my favorite BMTH song, hands down.
Pinch Me The Harmonics
I'd love to see you react to either Black & Blue or Medusa from this album. They both have amazing guitar solos, and Medusa probably has the heaviest breakdown they've written.
The old oli scream is amazing
As someone who's not their biggest fan nowadays, I still gotta respect they just went through with their own thing.
Wooo finally learned how to do pitch harmonics
*adds pitch harmonics to every song that gets played*
Nik don’t knock a banger. This jam is literally what helped we through my break up.
This is my favourite deathcore song from BMTH.
Can’t believe you haven’t SEEN this before
God I love this song. Glad you got to check it out!
I don't know why I like so much the combination of rawwr with Pinch armonics
This was the first bmth song I ever heard back in 2008-2009 and was maybe one of the first introductions into the genre
Personally my favourite song from this album. This was the first deathcore song that I ever liked, back when I still wasn't used to songs this heavy. Slowly I started to listen to the rest of Count Your Blessings and now I have reached the point where no metal song is too heavy for me.
Do anthem breakdown in that is on another level 🤌🤌🤌
I was searching reactions for this one last week hoping you'd have done one for this.... best riffs on the album are in this track.
The boys were 16-18 years old and they were doing the whole de-cor scene. You need to have respect
Early Bring me the Horizon, Job for a Cowboy, and As Blood Runs Black introduced me to metal when I was younger and I'm ever grateful.
the reaction i didn’t expect but that i’m so here for
Please do more Ronnie era escape the fate songs like the guillotine and webs we weave.
Guillotine is siiiick shout out to Omar Espinosa rhythm guitarist at the time for those siiiick lows at the ending
SECONDED
Bruh whatttttttt!!!!! I know not everyone knows how bmth got their start, but you nik? I never would have guessed. Pray for plagues was how I started teaching myself to do vocals the whole album is a classic
Should check out (I used make out with) Medusa by Bmth tho, its super heavy tho
I’ve been waiting for this video
This album. As blood runs black. And suicide silence were in a league of their own in 2008.
Nik we NEED a cover of this song PLEAAAASE its very fun to play it too
Abr - thrill seeker and pwd - kwas are my favourite from this era for sure
0:38 my music taste in 8 seconds
The bit at the beginning is the last thing you hear on Pray for plagues, it leads into it
This is the real bmth i know when i in 2009
ive had this and medusa on my metal playlist on spotify since like 2009. and then i heard one of their newer songs on the radio a couple years ago and i was like hm bring me the horizon… that
bring me the horizon. are you sure XD?
so different
This song got me into guitar back in the myspace days
REACT TO MEDUSA PLEASE🙏🙏🙏
The version with pig squeals hehe
HE NEEDS to see OFF THE HEEZAY!!! He would be sooo damn surprised :D
This album is the only BMTH I can stand to listen to. Anything after they can keep
You were one of the “cool” kids if you had any of the CYB songs as your MySpace song back in the day...where my old people at haha
