Definitely didn’t expect Coaster Studios doing this park 🤣 If you wanna try a similar park in France with a cool Intamin family coaster, then there’s the Futuroscope!
Vulcania is sort of like a museum with a mixture of exhibits and simulators and films. That trackless dark ride you missed is based around civilisations that worship volcanoes and also there is a simulator where you could vote on which natural disaster to experience. There is also a very new planetarium which is fantastic, incredible detail. The film essentially took you to the edge of the observable universe. I was there for a half a day, the same day as you guys and I wish I had more time to enjoy this unique place! :)
Vulcania seems to be more like a high end interactive museum. Those have become quite popular across Europe in recent years, we have several in Denmark where I'm from that are very similar, though mostly without rides. You even see it with older museums. Heck the Railway museum of the Netherlands has a dark ride with a drop track built in. The most similar thing to this in Denmark where I'm from would probably be "Universe". A science educational theme park near the Danish/German border with a few rides, but as of yet, no roller coasters. An LSM launch coaster there would be great to teach kids and people about magnetism and give them a great ride in the process. Like Intamin has an off the shelf design LSM coaster with 2 launches and no inversions, around 70ft tall on their youtube channel, that'd be a perfect fit.
I would like to thank you guys for helping me get into roller coasters, and I am HYPED whenever I see you guys upload a new video, especially in the Coastin’ Thru Europe series 😄
The park looks like this because of the situation. It is located in the middle of "volcano chain" (which was in reality one huge volcano from millions of year before) and since the location is a protected area, they couldn't expand with buildings. So it was built verticaly. Sadly, it's mainly poor simulators and educationnal walktrough. But the real treasure of this park are the mountains around!
Next year, maybe consider making a tour starting at Europa Park for Voltron, Le PAL for the water coaster, and Walibi Rhône-Alpes for the single rail coaster!
I had heard of Vulcania , it's really a place for school groups, never knew about a rollercoaster there, but it looks better than what's at Futuroscope. I went to Futuroscope recently and their latest intamin coaster is a disapointment because the trains don't rotate anymore and the dark-ride sections are kinda boring, then some slow pneumatic launches but a nice surprise at the end. But they have a nice Motion Theater by Dynamic Attractions and they'll have a Mack Rocking boat soon. next time le Puy du Fou !
Yeah this park is more like an interactive museum than an amusement park, and the attractions are mostly aimed at younger people. It’s built on one of the chain’s 80 volcanoes
@maxhagenauer24 tf there’s no castle at all bro. Plus, applying the algorithm «if trees and castle then Alton Towers » could make literally anything looking like AT lmao, like Disneyland would be in fact AT cuz there’s a castle
_Namazu_ appears to be named/themed for Ōnamazu (oh-nah-mah-zoo "great catfish") an earth yokai monster from Japanese mythology that manifested as a giantic black catfish. Ōnamazu is believed to be sealed underground by the warrior god Takemikazuchi (Ta-kay-mee-ka-zoo-chee) bound under a great cap stone. Sometimes Ōnamazu is still able to move; causing earthquakes. Other then the relation to earthquakes, it's a weird namesake for a rollercoaster in a French geological theme park. I blame weebs.

Fururoscope isn't really similar. It's better
@rema1721 yeah definitely, at least more of a theme park than a education thing, and they’ve got good rides
They call it European Epcot :)
@rema1721 Objectif mars is not very good, at least without spinning.
@@Magemo7 yeah the layout is not that punchy, but the drop track is great

This series has been the best. Thank you for this.

That's really really good for their only coaster.
18:40 I had the same reaction as Matt when Taylor said "sword fighting" 🤐
Next one is Walibi Rhône-Alpes I think ! I'm ride op here, this is why I am hyped 😆

I thought that was Chuckie from Rugrats at 10:38 for a second. Had to go back lol.

Just a reminder that for non-enthusiasts it's really weird to spend money at a theme park and only be there for a few hours.
Fun fact: A stage of the 2023 Tour de france did start in this park
Hey guys, is your theme music to Coastin’ Through Europe available to download? I love it!
It’s New Horizons by Hallman!
I would love to see you vlog park visits in asia
There’s some videos from 2019 of the Japan parks, but they’re short form videos- some longer ones would definitely be nice!
love it and haven't even watched it
If I would work in a theme park, I would also be confused if people arrived only a few hours before closing time.
4:21 moon 🌝
As a former foreign exchange student, Lyon as a city is beautiful. Too bad that you didn't get to spend too much time there.
😂😂😂😂 good video!!!!
Definitely an interesting park. Kinda looks like it has Alton Tower vibes.
This has nothing to do with AT besides having an Intamin family coaster with a drop track lmao
@@Sauci55on agreed
I get you! It has the open green space kinda feel with mostly nature walks, but every now and again you see a ride 😅
@Sauci55on But the trees and the castle looking stuff.
@maxhagenauer24 tf there’s no castle at all bro. Plus, applying the algorithm «if trees and castle then Alton Towers » could make literally anything looking like AT lmao, like Disneyland would be in fact AT cuz there’s a castle
rollercoaster are fun
Great coaster! But she's like the friend watching a movie that spoils it.
Second and also great video coaster studios this park is really cool

@rietauge5082 Lol Im a French thoosie and I’ve never thought about this. I’ll take Orochi over Namazu though.
This is comparable to Legoland but in a building Mini Legoland
Bye, Matt! (for now)

Good you did not choose to go to parc Spirou...
It's one of the worst parks in France with Walygator...
