Steve, I'm so happy you're back to doing some furniture projects. Although the smaller more original projects can be fun it was time for something like this again. One sheet of plywood is super cool! Thanks for what you do
I'm really enjoying Steve Ramsey's videos. Unlike other woodworking channels, he actually shows his mistakes and how to fix them. I don't always get it right on the first try so it's really handy to know that mistakes get made and he is really honest about that.
I don't usually leave comments, and I know alot of this is all time lapsed, but your experience shows in your finished product, and you make it look so easy. I've done many wood pallet projects, so I know working with wood takes more brain power than physical effort to come out with a clean looking piece of furniture. I'm glad I watched this video, and I just may give it a try!
Cool project!! A small cabinet/pantry like that could have many uses - DVD cabinet, mini-bar supplies, etc. I really like versatile projects. Thanks for sharing, Steve!!
Steve I'm a girl and I don't do woodworking but I like browsing through for ideas. I just love your projects and videos and the way you do your adds. your face at "rustic charm" was absolutely adorable. hahaha
Steve, these one sheet wonders are pretty amazing!!!! Thank you for all the time and effort that goes into the planning and creation, I will definitely be making one of these !
Couple of things: Screws do not hold well when put into the 'side grain' of plywood, so that would be why Steve put the hinges on the outside - so the doors won't rip off. If you made the unit with the sides that get the hinges out of solid wood then you could put the hinges on with only the knuckles showing. If you were not worried about making this out of one sheet of ply you could easily make the frame from solid wood and use thin - say 1/4 inch - ply for the door skins and back. All depends on what you have lying around the workshop.Pocket hole screws work fine in ply construction, beats me why Steve abandoned them for this project - maybe he had run out of suitable screws?
hi Steve another excellent project. I have read The girl with all the gifts. I was also lucky enough to see the movie being filmed near my home town in Birmingham UK. The book is amazing can't wait for the film.
I'm probably not going to make most of the stuff on your channel, but I like that if I ever did decide to embark on such projects, your channel would be a good starting point. Just subscribed!
Your Pateron notification just arrived. I took a look at the picture and suddenly I could hear the music in my head you usually put nowadays under your videos :) (the one that starts at 4:03, I LOVE it!)
I could do that...All I need is a workroom, a table saw, all the tool toys he has. I love all the toys. What kind of spray gun was that!!!!! I love that also.
Nice pantry! One nit-picky comment (at least I'll admit it,) is that if it were me, I'd put some edge banding on the plywood edges to cover any voids (like those in the shelf fronts.) Even though it's going to be painted, it'll look nicer. I say this as a former cabinetmaker who's applied more miles of edge banding tape to plywood cabinet parts than I can count (or care to remember, tyvm.) Still, nice design! And yeah, I like the paint.
***** I've never used it, Ashton. I have used spackle and even body filler to fill voids on plywood, depending on how big the void was, and they both work very well. In the cabinet shop I worked in, we were all about getting the parts back into the finishing room quickly. Edge banding tape was quick, painless, and had no drying time. I got it applied and trimmed, then passed along to the sanding table in just a couple of minutes, then I could get back on the saw and start cutting again. We could do a whole kitchen full of shelves, for example, in less than half an hour. That's going from a sheet of plywood to shelves laid on the rack and the first coat of sanding sealer being sprayed. For a home shop, whatever works best for you is the way to go. I will check out paintable caulk, though. I can think of several situations where it would be a great alternative. Thanks!
Always love your show Steve and support you. Would have loved to see the extra mile here hiding those piano hinges and end grain on the sides of the doors.
Okay, you're really skilled and knowledgeable! You made this look so easy. I'm a lady married to a lady, and we'd like to see what can be built for kitchen or closet with a jisaw, drill, hammer and sander, please. Those are the tools we have...and they're dusty from neglect! 😛😊 Thank you!
Steve, you should totally make some more short movies, like the John and Lou was, or the banana hanger (which you still use to this day, I see). You're a funny guy!
Great project as usual. I would like to build something similar for use as a tool cabinet. I think if the hinges were hidden as some have suggested there would need to be some solid wood on the edge of the plywood where they go. Otherwise the screws wouldn't have much if anything to hold onto in the edge of plywood.
Wahoo! Loved the "vision" and a look at the finished project at the beginning! We get to see what's in your head before you start, which is how woodworking starts! With a vision of what you want :-)
Hey Steve, that is a really nice cabinet. Funny though,I finally buy a pocket hole jig, because everything you have ever made has at least one pocket screw in it, and when I get home, your next video is a big cabinet with zero pocket screws lol.
Hi, i enjoyed "The girl with all the gifts". The plot took a while to get going, but it was a good read overall. As for the project, i personally would have preferred the hinge hidden between the doors and the back piece with only the barrel exposed. Other than that i like it :-) Solid construction and nice proportions.
Nice project as usual. really like the new announcer at the beginning. Give her the job. Still waiting for your review of "The Martian" on Mere Minutes... :-) :-)
I would like to see how you design your projects before you make them. Do you sketch things out on paper? Use software? Or just make it up as you go along? Thanks!
thats really nice steve. i could use something like this in my shop..insteada spices ill use spray cans and finishes..if you dont mind me copying your idea that is. and i remember the 1 sheet bookshelf from like 3 yrs ago that was good stuff too.
I like all your projects. As to this one, the only thing I would have done differently are the piano hinges. I would have put the hinges inside. Otherwise, well done. And keep your videos flowing.
By the way: an easy way to put those boards on the inside, in a way that stops them from sliding out, would be to make some grooves into them and then put some little wooden sticks into the sides which will fall into the grooves when you put the boards in place. This way you don't need any screws and you can quickly change them if you want to.
For those without a pin jig I recommend using a scrap of peg board as a guide.
Great idea!

I liked the contrast of finish and white paint. White paint just gives such a clean look on projects!

It came out nice! I like the fact that you can adjust the shelves!
I'll never forget your lumber rack. it was a breakthrough mentality to a new 3Ds & space vision
I like these "one sheet of plywood" projects. Perfect for beginners with no piles of scrap wood laying around !
Cool project!! A small cabinet/pantry like that could have many uses - DVD cabinet, mini-bar supplies, etc. I really like versatile projects. Thanks for sharing, Steve!!
This is a really great simple project to help better organize your kitchen, and I really like the adjustability of it.
Thank you for making this video! This is precisely the kind of cupboard I want to make for my own kitchen! Can't wait to get started!!
Steve I'm a girl and I don't do woodworking but I like browsing through for ideas. I just love your projects and videos and the way you do your adds. your face at "rustic charm" was absolutely adorable. hahaha
Looks great. I was skeptical of the piano hinges at first but they ended up looking really nice.
Steve, these one sheet wonders are pretty amazing!!!! Thank you for all the time and effort that goes into the planning and creation, I will definitely be making one of these !
+Steve Ramsey without giving away any state secrets, what is the process behind the planning for these one-sheet wonders?
This was so wholesome. You're such a positive person. Keep being you and I can't wait to see even more projects!
Thanks Steve for another great video. Thanks also for all your hard work with the charity builds etc. Happy New Year!
I see a lot of uses for this cupboard. Very simple I like it.
Nice detail on the shelves "fence" to prevent spices from sliding out!

+Bruce Lee nice review :)
I just counted, there are 18 screws in each side of the hinge. if you were using a pair of hinges with 4 screws per hinge, but 36?
Bruce Lee
Be water
Nice! I like the combination of white paint and wood colour
Thanks for another great project, Steve. We have the same storage problem in our kitchen, and I love the relatively small footprint in your design!
Very cool, I like the counter top addition to the cabinet, it makes for more usable space. Great work Steve!
That is a VERY nice cabinet Steve. Way to go.
Currently using a modified version of your plans to custom build a pantry. Thanks for the wonderful idea!
Steve you are wonderful as always. I wish you success in your future projects and inventions
hi Steve another excellent project. I have read The girl with all the gifts. I was also lucky enough to see the movie being filmed near my home town in Birmingham UK. The book is amazing can't wait for the film.
Nice build mate
You just mastering the level of entertainment on youtube. Keep going !!!
My wife wants to know what you're an old pantry now looks like. Inquiring minds must know! Thanks for another great video.
yeah we need an update haha
I am SO building this. I have no counter space really and this would be perfect for my spices and knives in the lower section.
I'm probably not going to make most of the stuff on your channel, but I like that if I ever did decide to embark on such projects, your channel would be a good starting point. Just subscribed!
Very beautiful project and funny video, as always. Thank you for sharing. Thanks to MicroJig and Audible for sponsoring the show.
Excellent project, Steve, very useful and necessary, thanks for sharing.
Its fun watching you do your work.

OOO! I like the glue application starting at 3:00 - all those curly-qs - "Extra Fancy"!
My favorite time of the week.
That Ford is a beauty
This man a pro he builds like 1 and is showing u how I had a job and basically did what he did u can start a business with this
Thank you Steve! I took one look at your beginning pantry and I don't feel so bad about the monumentus piles of stuff I have in my pantry!
i do like these kind of projects, can never have enough storage....
Great ! White body with wooden top and bottom is a great combination,
You mean Steve, or the cabinet? 🤔
Excellent Build. Just the guidance I was looking for!
how cool! its a great piece and totally functional. I think I need one of those in my house!! thanks so much for sharing!
Steve before assembly try putting the shelf pin holes first. Love the cabinet. Great video.
Harder to get them to line up exactly then. Choose your poison :-D
SWEET job! A clean cloth soaked with 3 in 1 Oil carefully rubbed on the hinges might do the trick. Great project!
I love it you are really good at it and it's that hard

+Mark Lindsay Normally he does, like in almost every video he has with plywood... not sure why not this time though...
One track mind.
Josh V Yeah, I was kind of surprised he didn't do it. He must be out of edge banding tape. Still, it's a nice little cabinet.
***** I've never used it, Ashton. I have used spackle and even body filler to fill voids on plywood, depending on how big the void was, and they both work very well. Man you've come a long way on your videos you can just get better this is an amazing video by the way a nice project for a small house like mine
Brilliant project and as usual well explained. Love the way you do your videos with a bit of humour
Always love your show Steve and support you. Would have loved to see the extra mile here hiding those piano hinges and end grain on the sides of the doors.
muy bueno , se lo voy a preparar para regalarle a mi señora , saludos

IWILL TELL YOU STEVE...THE MORE I WATCH YOUR INFO THE MORE I LOVE YOUR SITE....
That look to the bushel basket was hilarious :-)
brilliant build Steve!

Old Bay front and center...as a Marylander, I approve. ;)
+file91e That's what I noticed too (:
+Michael Natrin and kosher salt for the shellfish and pork sausage.

My dad has a cabinet extremely similar to this but filled with his large collect of cassettes and old camcorder tapes. It is basically a time machine.
Nice project. You can never have to much storage or chip clips.
Nice design could hang that up my building for extra storage
Although i enjoy detailed videos, i really liked the fast pace in this one :)
Great job Steve! :)
I don't even know carpentry and I love watching people make things
Wahoo! Loved the "vision" and a look at the finished project at the beginning! We get to see what's in your head before you start, which is how woodworking starts! With a vision of what you want :-)
Exactly what I need to make next.
Highly Recommended!!!
Very nice Steve!

Fantastic project
Another great project, Steve. One question: why not put the piano hinges on the inside?
that is actually an awesome idea. I guess one culd implement that also into a regular cupboard, and just shortening the inside shelves.
thank for your videos always looking forward to what i can learn from you.Keep up the good work
Very nice looking pantry Steve! But the piano hinges go on the inside of the box not outside :O
Good job Steve

Nice banana pedestal! lol Good build Steve.
Very nice project!

Beautiful job Steve! It's a simple and very practical unit with attractive finishing touches.
Nice project as usual. really like the new announcer at the beginning. Give her the job.

I love your channel! You are so artistic! I'm definitely subscribing!!
That's a nice cabinet
Well done and super useful 🤩!!!
avery nice project and practical too
Really cool project! I would have used some different hinges, never been a fan of piano hinges, but still really nice
Love your uploads. Great stuff thank you.
I would like to see how you design your projects before you make them. Do you sketch things out on paper? Use software? Or just make it up as you go along? Thanks!
