Japan IS good for "thrifting" and vintage shopping, most people go to the hipster ones in Japan that look like "thrift" stores in America, and hence only experience those high price shops instead of looking for Japanese resell shops that are selling Japanese and international brand clothes. And then actual thrift shops like donate shops are harder to find in tourist zones but def have gems.
