U are best ytuber
😭so many things
OX fam, you are incredible, just wanted to say.
Amazing song & charity
Plus you are fantastic every ep
Honk!
But really, best gift ever, you are Outside Xtra
Also shared link to this lovely episode
Yey, we finely got the third host on the sofa we always wanted, Mr Goose Honkington D'Secound (he is part Franch). I hope we will se more of him next year.
Love you guys x
Thank you for a year of laughter and fun. You've helped me through a tough year of physical problems and kept me full of positive thoughts!
'Doesn't it make you yearn for a simpler time?'
'No', says the one with a sock puppet
You fool. You think the goose is the sock puppet?
"Ellen, when you were small..."
Felt like there's a short joke hidden in there.
That seems a bit low
A tiny bit of remorse, sure.
It was a little sneaky
Alas the opportunity was cut short
It could have reached new heights though
"We wanted to go out with a bang, but we've gone under with a honk."
-Luke Westaway 2019
This quote perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Show of the Weekend
And most of the past year in general too ...
Ellen can still make goose honks with her mouth full of water? That's some talented gargle gaggle right there.
Ellen + Goose = probably the best content ever.
As someone traveling back in time, “addressing troops certain to die” was actually an accurate description for the year to come.
Ellen making *Luke* laugh so hard they had to cut. Oh how the turntables. Now I’ve seen everything.
That's the best part 🤣
*how the tables turn.
Luke: "Ellen, When you were small..."
Me: unable to hear the rest of the question when realizing no short-joke is coming *sad*
"Pick up sticks? That sounds pretty stupid..."
Less than two minutes later holding my breath with my eyes glued to the screen: "wow that was a nice clean grab Ellen! "
Ellen Rose to the ocasion as the goose went Westaway towards Luke as she got out of a sticky situation
Aww heck I just punned this and didn't know I got beat a long time ago 😫
Well.Done.
:3
Somewhere Andy has felt a disturbance in the force and let out a bellowing BOOOOO! Onlookers felt concerned.
does Luke predicting the 20/20 hindsight jokes mean he's got 20/20 foresight then?
*Likes while staring with disgust*
I regret nothing!
hello from 2022.
I'm sorry for you guys on 2020
“We’ve lived, we’ve laughed, we’ve honked.” Well i can totally see this being everybodys mums favourite new saying to get painted in huge letters on the living room wall
"Live, Laugh, Honk" in that cheesy Curlz font.
Oh god I'm going to make that, aren't I.
"I haven't collected all the hidden Mickeys"
Luke's eyes screaming for help
As a Canadian I am shocked by the presence of alcohol as a trophy in a Disney game.
Andrew Webster I was thinking of the even more shocking Irish slang for Mickey.
All the misinterpretations possible..
"We wanted to go out with a bang, instead we went under with a honk" oh I love that
*sees goose* *immediately likes the video*
edit: *sees pick up sticks* how can i like this video more????
😂😂 Ellens vampire impersonation had me in stitches, im sure we all missed Ellens uncontrollable laughing 😋
Luke's horror when he realized that the Goose Sock Puppet was back...
what a terrible thing to say, I like the way your mind works
"We must look forward now to 2020, it's going to be a good year." Well that whole scene couldn't have been more accurate
On the topic of Untitled Goose Game, that phrase fits almost perfectly into the Show of the Weekend theme.
Day 224: Ellen Rose has been possessed by the goose. The curse has spread to her arms.
Coming 2021: the first RUclips channel co presented by a human and a bird.
Ellen with Senu voice: *I'm a bird!*
bit late for that, jontron has been around for a while
Man, I just love Ellen's laugh, it's so joyful, and Luke's face when he saw the goose sock puppet, priceless
Any excuse to see the Goose sock puppet is a welcome one
Ellen : *starts speaking about vampires*
My brain, distracted by the goose : "imagine a vampire goose"
"It's like feeling a skeleton!"
I've got bad news for you, Luke.
The skeleton was inside you the whole time.
the true skeleton are the friends we made along the way
AH! What bosses want now?
@@ragingrhino101 And used to slaughter orphans to build and orphanage.
“Ah, it’s orphans boss”
"Ellen, when you were small...." Hey, I know it's low hanging fruit, but I'm taking it.
"Ellen when you were small" "as in milliseconds in the past? Then I can answer that question from my current perspective!" ~ Ellen, in an alternate timeline
Luke's unwillingness to commit very enthusiastically to calling 2020 a good year feels oddly prescient.
"So you've made it this far into 2019," was said in a tone that you know something. Luke, just tell it to me straight.
Edit: This aged poorly. 2020 is something, huh, guys?
"It sounds like I'm addressing troops before a battle where I know they're all going to die."
Yeah, he definitely knows *something...* Maybe Jane's death robot army's about to be completed? Maybe Andy stops hiding his true sentient planet self?
@@neolexiousneolexian6079 They're probably talking about the Election the UK just had. They've been talking about it a lot on Twitter.
Luke and Ellen; a duo so incredible that I can watch them play pickup sticks for nearly 10 minutes... And love it. Well played, Outside Xtra, well played.
I'm constantly impressed at how skillfully Ellen gives life and personality to the goose sock-puppet whenever they include it. It looking behind her when Luke said "looking behind" and it nod along and the like all seems so natural and effortless. like damn, well done!
Luke: Ellen you appear to have had your arm surgically removed and replaced by a goose. Are you OK?
Ellen: I never asked for this
"Which game would you like to be trapped in forever?"
Obviously the cutest with the least amount of danger. Animal crossing is probably a safer choice. Bloodlines wouldn't be a good match for Ellen unless she was a Malkavian (a crazy, hyper, giggling Malkavian; on second thought, I'm suddenly very afraid).
"Honk" is my contender for word of the year.
Thank you for your hard work, you definitely deserve a rest. Happy holidays!
I second this
You have my vote, on both accounts.
"Paste" in a distant second.
Games I’m hyped for next year
- REmake3
- Grandma Simu- I mean, Watch Dogs: Legion
This ep had the most hilarious chaotic energy! I know Luke said they went "under with a honk" out of the year, but I completely disagree - the raw silliness and cleverness of this episode epitomized everything I love about Show of the Weekend. I got on this train in 2019 and I have no intention of getting off in 2020!
After days and weeks of lows, it still surprises me how you guys can make me smile in genuine happiness when nothing else can. Thanks, you legends.
It’s great to come home to Show of the Weekend after a stressful day. Not even 5 minutes in and I’m laughing hard, it may be a mini show but the laughs are still big.
10:47 Luke “I am sorry the last Show of the Weekend of the year is like this.”
Me: it’s ok I love this show and you guys and I thinks this is the best way to end the year for Show of the Weekend.
Luke asking Ellen a question about when she was small
Me... what do you mean was small
@lelwut She's small enough she can use the skyrim "under-your-line-of-sight" technique to hide without actually crouching.
@lelwut She's travel sized for everyone's convenience. They actually fit her in a poster bag at one of the game conventions the team attended once.
This show is genuinely truly a cure for depression. Please don't ever stop doing this. My sanity depends on it.
i think my favourite thing about Outside Xtra is the professionalism, i dont think it's matched by anyone else
i would not want them to change, they are perfect they way they are
The rampant chaotic energy on display here is peak Show of the Weekend and it never fails to give me life
"Ellen when you were small..."
I'm sorry, I know it was wrong, but I actually laughed out loud when Luke said this.
I really DO hope, that the NEXT animal transformation spell Merylwen learns will be a goose, even if flying animals are only allowed up from lvl 8
Corazon: ok, we need to trick the NPC to give us this McGuffin, even though he doesn't want to. What should we d-
Merylwen: HOOOOONK!
Ellen and Luke, in 2019: 2020 is going to be a good year.
Me, in 2020: Hahahahahaha :D
“Oh you’ve gone west”
Nah the goose has gone westaway, away
I play "Pick up sticks" with elder people in a retirement home where i currently work. Even if it seems unfair but they give there best and have a lot of fun (and won more than once). :D
But there is a rule change, we can keep the stick that we try to take. Its more fun this way because even the eldest of them can play and dont lose anything (like the fun in it). :)
"It's going to be a good year..."
Is it just me who felt Luke remembering the election result as he said that and losing all hope?
"When you were small"
It should have been "when you were smaller."
9:38 this up until the unintended wing pun was brilliant silliness
When Ellen moved the goose to the other arm, it looked like the goose was wearing a Christmas jumper when tucked into Ellen's sleeve!
Ellen, Luke and that goose could make any simple game chaotic entertainment
"Did you drink Blood Ellen?"
"Not off the top of my head"
...it's meant to be from someone else's neck.
I remember my nan had a version of pick up sticks that was made out of plastic and the sticks had these weird faces moulded on the end of them that were all reminiscent of the ghost from ghostbusters. To this day I’m not entirely sure if they were real or a figment of my childhood imagination
Everybody, start petitioning Dicebreaker to play Pick Up Sticks!
"Rob Schneider ALWAYS has to be the Rob Schneider"
-Luke Westaway, 2019
This video was alot of fun, thank you. It helped pick me up.
"2020 is going to be a good year"
Me, watching this vid in 2020: hahahahahahaahaa...sob
Can’t wait for the pikachu drawing comp this year :) Its my favourite Christmas tradition now.
"it sounds like I'm addressing troops on the eve of a battle where I know a lot of them are gonna die"
*heavy breathing intensifies*
At this rate Ellen's Halloween costume is going to be a goose with an Ellen sock puppet hand
2 words for Luke
SERENITY NOW!!
Unable to sleep at 4-5am here in the states but Ellen's goose makes it at the very least tolerable thanks for the great content as always you two!
You could say the goose went... Westaway...
Something very cathartic about this episode now, especially with the ending bit and Luke's " 2020 will be great"
Luke's disdain for that goose hand puppet and Ellen's joyful honking is just as hilarious now as it was when it was introduced months ago.
_"In his craziest role ever, Rob Schneider is Ellen Rose!"_
I love the goose sock puppet, and I love that Luke's laptop stickers are dinosaurs
7:16 Wait, wait, wait- did Ellen just say That? Boy, back when I was young dinosaurs roamed the earth and the wheel was a new invention- guess age really is a relative thing. Also, it sounds as if many hours were spent doing Christmas challenges as both Ellen and Luke (but more Luke than Ellen) seemed that kind of loopy you get from lack of sleep. Also, the opening made me LOL. Have a great holiday season folks...
Ellen when you was Small what did you think would come out in 2020
Ellen: everything that is coming out I am small
Luke-"When you were small how did you imagine 2020?" Ellen-"So how do I imagine 2020 now?"
As a kid use to play pick up sticks with chopsticks and you could use one you had already collected to help you, but if you dropped it it stayed on the pile
I laughed so hard at Ellen’s goose honk that my dog came to make sure I’m ok 🤣🤣🤣
With all of the arty creations this show has created, there's a lot of mouths to feed.
Don't you mean unholy creations?
Is the unedited version about 6 hours? Between the giggling and the stick picking upping? Excellent work as always, have a great Christmas all!
Ellen: 2020 its going to be a good year hopefully
2020: i dont think so
3:28 "What I wanna do, is look forward to the year 2020"
Luke, I'm from the future and I have truly terrible news.
I haven't cry-laughed at anything this much in a very long time. This is truly the content we needed to round off this decade
This channel makes me laugh more than any other on RUclips. Looking forward to another year!
This show of the weekend had the exact same structure as a Christmas office party
This whole video needs a laugh compilation. You sure did a lot of it and it made my day.
Today we learned that there is more tension in a game of pick up sticks where a sock puppet goose is a participant than in many big budget video games.
Thank you Ellen and Luke. For this year's laughs. For future laughs. Have a great Xmas.
I love the fact that the last show of the weekend has Ellen absolutely losing it with laughter. A perfect ending for a perfect year for the show. Have a wonderful Holiday and a great New Year!
Your genuine sincerity is truly heart warming. I hope y’all have a wonderful holiday season. 😍
Next dnd stream, Merlwen's arm starts turning into a goose. Goose starts taking over.
Me: Sees intro.
Also me: Struggles to hit like button from laughing so hard.
There are seriously not that many people that I'd watch a 20 minute video of them just hanging around talking about crap, but you guys are 2 of them. Good stuff.
“2020 is going to be a good year...”
Spoiler: 2020 is not a good year
The goose is loose! Also Rob Schneider was the best for that part in Judge Dredd, I love watching him in that movie so much. He even got himself seriously bruised up falling down the stairs at one point and kept going.
"Are you gonna keep the goose on?"
you think you've heard every sentence in the English language....
When Ellen made the 'vampire-fang' noises all I wanted was the goose to do the same thing and display tiny goose fangs.
This is great, I had stumbled onto this show of the weekend sometime ago and ended up laughing so hard. Definitely one of my favorite show/podcasts (im not sure what to call it) You've made a fan all the way from a small Island called Puerto Rico. Since you're all the way across the world I find that amazing. Happy new years 🎉
More of Ellen Role playing as a goose.
It's the HONKING best thing ever! 😂💜
Me: Kingdoms of Alamur?
Ellen: Lifts goose hand.
Me: Oh....
Did I just watch 10 minutes of people slowly picking up wooden sticks? Yes.
Did it bring me immense joy? Yes.
Ellen escort mission in Doom Eternal sounds... hmm, on the one hand, you'll have a constant stream of Ellen's laughter in the background while you kill demons, on the other hand, you'll have the escort's escort honking around all the time.
Here's hoping you break Top 40 this week! "LEEITW" has been repeatedly stuck in my head since release. Great job, guys!
I am already prepared to buy this single again this week coming. ❤️👍
14:10 When Luke said the goose had gone west for the winter, I'm surprised Ellen didn't respond with it had gone West-a-way
Love how Luke goes from being annoyed about the future 20 20 hindsight jokes to "we should do it" lol
You could say the goose has gone "West-a-way"
"I'm going to go far *behind* enemy lines" => Secret Agent Luke confirmed.
