So Ian tried to control Frostmourne and Merlwyn tried to tame a bear. Also this on top of HUMAN ELLEN and HUMAN LUKE eating the sound proofing? How do these people get insurance. I'm not sure even Llyod's would take this one.
I'm pretty sure Jane has access to super vilain (or at least evil genius) tier of insurance. These guys are usually pretty arranging (fear of space lasers plays a part)

Showing my age, but I remember Share-ware DOOM as a tween. It was glorious, and the mod that made it Simpsons DOOM was pretty great too.
Samwise Didier who is one of the main artist in World of Warcraft/Blizzard is actually the artist for the most of the Swedish Power Metal Band Hammerfall album covers
P.s. many of Power Metal bands (specially in European metal scene) are big fans of fantasy and mythologies (and many other pop culture subjects) and many songs and albums are themed around these subjects.

Whoever decided to pair Ellen and Luke up originally seriously needs a raise I have been watching both outsides for a while now and it never stops amazing me how great the onscreen chemistry everyone has with each other ( it really makes me wonder if they are truly friends outside of work, I really hope so).
That bit in the lift is my favourite piece of Doomguy characterisation. He's so clearly thinking "Seriously, dude?"
Doomguy is like John Wick, but more badass. The reason he's fighting the demons is because they killed his bunny.

Azrael is also the angel of death/entropy/endings, and he has many many eyes- one for each living thing. When the last goes out, he goes blind, and thus the universe can end and spark its unseen future.
I was drinking my delightfully uncomplicated tea when Ellen said "life" and now there's a very complicated issue of tea being all over my keyboard and monitor. And i think a fair amount managed to get up my nose too. Thanks guys!!!

She wants to convert more from the alliance before taking over the Horde. Neither Arthus nor Sylvanus started in the horde.
She thinks that the Horde are either dimwits, or competition. :p
If you look at the "languages you wish you could speak" or "skills you can't believe you had to unlock" videos, you'll see a character presumably created by Jane named "Jeynaria" who seems to be an elf mage. That seems to be an example of the sort of look Jane likes.

They did talk about it at some point, I think slightly before it came out. I just got it and am on ch10 of my first playthrough (Black Eagles)
I was on the third to last map when I accidentally erased my save data... I personally would prefer they wait a little bit longer before discussing it...
Acheron and Tiamat are actually fantasy things as well. In D&D lore, Acheron is a layer of the Nine Hells, and Tiamat is the dragon goddess of Evil.
Tiamat isn't evil... She just thinks Dragons should rule the world and everyone else live as their slaves... if they live at all.
In the Neverwinter game it's stated that her dragon cultists actually get brought back to life by her after players kill them.... repeatedly, daily, by the dozen. There's actually a dialog thing where you have a conversation with an NPC about how the Dragon Cult hasn't been wiped out yet when hundreds of them get killed every hour. So Tiamat has some good qualities.
Oh and Warlocks have a quest where they have to go to Acheron to prove their skills as a Warlock.
Wow Luke's blood puppet impression gave me flashbacks to the tension of sneaking past clickers in the last of us
To be fair to Blizzard, the first Pandaran was Chen Stormstout in Warcraft 3's Frozen Throne Expansion. He was an optional companion for Rexxar found in the firs act of the Founding of Durotar campaign titled 'To tame a land'. This pre-dated Kung Fu Panda by about 4 years so they had the idea first.
As a wow player who joined in tbc and has literally every single cutting edge achievement in wow raiding history i have to say to the guy who made the quiz:

There is a version of that Wrath of the Lich King cinematic that has Let it Go play over it and it surprisingly fits.
No Hammerfall in the quiz made me sad. It is both the name of a town in WoW and a power metal band from Sweden. One of their cover artists did work for WoW iirc, and added the name to the Arathi Highlands town as an homage. I strongly suggest listening to their awesome music because they rock
Fun fact: the martial arts panda race was actually first seen in an expansion for Wacraft 3, which was before Kung Fu Panda.

Tiamat is also a d&d deity. Think Egbert, with a Prudence approach to life, and 5 heads. You don't want to meet Tiamat.
In addition Carnifex is also a Warhammer 40k thing. Which you also don't want to meet, particularly as they tend to run in packs. (Think xenomorph on steroids with claws the size of broadswords).

I quite enjoy these looks back at somewhat older games. Reminds me of my backlog that I should really play through before buying more new games to set on the shelf and get distracted from. Doom 2016 is in fact, one of those games.

Doom is one of my earliest gaming memories. The 2016 game was absolutely amazing combining the right amount of nostalgia and innovation to draw old and new gamers alike. So its always fun to hear people talk and enjoy it as well.
During the WOW or Metal quiz, I can't tell if Luke is checking the answers or working on some secret side project.

In a way they're similar.... Not really the same though. Especially if you look at the "Kiryu" Mechagodzilla. It's sort of a robot, but built using the skeleton of a dead Godzilla(there was more than one and someone found a dead one). Kiryu well.... it was kinda possessed by the ghost of the original Godzilla or something.
The Kung fu pandas were in Warcraft before they were in Kung Fu Panda. You could play as the Pandaren Brewmaster way back in 2003 in the Frozen Throne expansion to Warcraft III, 5 years before the first movie.

It all makes sense now
I never played any of the Doom franchise, but I did play a game called Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold. That game was much more horizontal than Doom if those clips are anything to go by, but it did have an element of visual verticality in ceiling-mounted turrets, and it is as you say, you line it up horizontally, and you hit it anyway. It's just that you can only actually hit it with two out of the five weapons.
And speaking of that game, I tended to stick with the Auto-Charge Pistol. It was silent, it used no weapons energy (all the other weapons drew from the same energy reserves, which you replenished with energy packs), and it was typically powerful enough, so for a while, at least, I would be able to get by just shooting enemies before they even knew I was there. Of course, I only played on the easiest difficulty, so... maybe I would've gone with something more powerful higher up the difficulty scale...?
Oh my goodness, I think you just explained why Frog (Water) and Marle (Ice) both have three healing Techs.
I think I would have guessed heavy metal band for Acheron just based on it being the name of a thing in Greek mythology. I could be wrong, but it seems like WoW uses names made up for it rather than taking preexisting proper nouns...?
Incidentally, if I start typing "ravenho" into my search bar, "ravenholdt" is higher than "ravenholm"... but on the other hand, typing it into Wikipedia has "Locations of Half-Life" as the top result, while searching for "ravenholdt" there brings up only the article on Brian George, voice of Lord Jorach Ravenholdt in 2016's WoW: Legion.
And again, Tiamat, which I primarily heard of because of Final Fantasy, but it's also a goddess in Babylonian mythology, and has been used in a number of video games... just not WoW. So good job on getting that right.

Well there are either two sets of Ellen and Luke running around, one being consumed by symbiotes, or the timelines have diverged and there is now the Oxbox timeline and the Oxtra timeline.

I've also just recently played Doom (2016), loved it, it's so gruesome it's wholesome. Got to say the Super Shotgun carried me for most of the game after unlocking it.

Azrael is the Angel of Death in some Abrahamic religions. Also, he is one of the named archangels.
Even though most Christian branches of the Abrahamic tree do not acknowledge the character, we see Azrael in the Lucifer show.
I was going to say that i can't believe no sheeps were involved in WoW's cinematic trailer but....patience (and Luke) gave us what we wanted :D

I've seen a lot of those names before. Tiamat is also a dragon in mythology and plenty of video games like Final Fantasy. Then the next one, Carnifex, is the name of the basic handgun in Mass Effect. Azrael is used all over the place in games, I think it was even one of my character names at some point :D

I'm just so pleased that Ellen is for the Alliance. All the cool kids over there in the Horde, polishing their tusks and exposed femurs and what-not, but my heart has belonged to the Alliance ever since the first time I heard "I've got a Flying Machine!" in WarCraft 2.
