I wanted a mids size went to go look at the frontier and colorado, and I didn't fit in them correctly, and im only 6'3. So I had to go bigger. I didn't want a bigger truck cause fuel efficiency either and price. I was almost cosindering a car, but you always need a truck even if you don't haul stuff regularly. He is right I live in Texas and we are always with family and moving stuff. This truck is amazing. And it takes off.

      I despise knob shifters. They are awkward and difficult to use. When you have to quickly change direction forwards or backwards, a fat dial is NOT going to make the job easier. My car has a manual so I don't have to put up with that. Oh, and it's a cheap antitheft device since most car thieves these days have probably never touched one in their lives.

    • @sharkskin3448
      @sharkskin3448 Год назад +5

      @@Gucci48MC the 5.3 Vortec was excellent. The Ecotech versions, not so much. It's fine to add direct injection. Eliminating port injection was the problem. Toyota and Ford know this. GM probably does, but for some reason, doesn't care. Cylinder deactivity is risky. Manufacturers respond in different ways to government intrusion. When better economy and reduced emissions are demanded, some go back to the drawing board, while others wiggle out the easy way. I see GM advertising a full line of EVs coming out. Maybe they're walking away from IC engines, perhaps prematurely.
      You can research the problems with the L3B engine on the GM Forums. I stand by my assertion that to date, that engine has been better than the current v8s. Of course, it's relatively new. Maybe they'll start exploding in a year or two! Meanwhile, some 5.3 owners are having catastrophic failures at low miles.

    Smaller engines don’t last. Turbos require replacement. Cylinder deactivation on larger engines causes wear and tear.
    This engine is terrible. What has it been torture-tested to? 5 mil miles? GM’s reputation for unreliable and common problems like engine failure at 40k miles will persist.
    What they need is a simple, no frills durable engine and transmission, that’s it. The rest doesn’t matter as much, maybe decent brakes or soft-riding coil suspension, but these can be aftermarket installs.
    What a truck needs BL is a good engine block and a good transmission with solid gear ratios that don’t hunt.
