I really love the weight of this paddle and what it does for me, especially kitchen battles. But is there any paddle that has a tad bit more drive power or a paddle tier above this overall but still same weight at this? Im not a fan of heavier paddles. Ty
Hey man, do you think it’s too late to buy the DBD or the Filth with all the new paddles coming out April/may? Or still worth it to give it a go? Current paddle is Prism V7 and feeling a little slow at the net with my hands. Or maybe even this Loco??
A lot of power coming in April from several brands. The power category will be different but the control and all-court category won’t be altered so the paddles you mentioned are still relevant
@@pickleballeffect Thank you! Leaning towards B&B even though the unreal DBD reviews, just for brand likability as you mentioned. With these paddles all being so similar sometimes that is what matters 🤙🏼
I do have it. I won't do a full review on it but I did share some thoughts about it in my new paddle and gear forum I just made! You can check it out in the paddle updates section of the forum, pickleballeffect.com/pickleball-effect-gear-forum/.
This one keeps coming up, I’ll try to get my hands on it. I have the Thrive Azul, Joola stuff, Ronbus, and Reload all coming up. Others maybe in the pipe are the Pikkl Hurricane and skins and hoping to get the new Vatic Pro stuff and updated Six Zero BDi.
@@pickleballeffect great lineup… I have the Mark Kenetic, insane power and precision with manageable control. One of my favorites right now. I’m definitely looking forward to your review of the updated BDi. The original is my main.
@@pickleballeffect i just stumbled upon this paddle yesterday and it went on sale last night at 5pm....not sure if any are remaining but it looks just like the Ruby from afar but up close you can definitely tell them apart...I got one just to try it...UPDATE, as of 6pm on Sunday march 10, they were still available plus you can find codes for 10% off
My Loco’s life is coming to an end. I loved it but now I need to find a new one. What do you recommend? I would get another Loco if they still made them
Very similar soft feel though the Flow has a slightly denser feel at impact and isn’t as poppy on counters. Another difference between the two is weight. The Flow has a heavier swing weight for a hybrid while the Loco is on the lighter side.
@pickleballeffect Ok, I have the Flow but didn't quite like the feeling personally. My game is centered mostly around control. I'm on the hunt for a paddle that has great consistency and control when dropping. Any recommendations? Have you tried the new Ronbus FX.2 yet? Numbers look good on your paddle data page.
@@robedwards6926yeah, if the Flow wasn’t doing it for you then this one probably won’t either. I do have the Ronbus but haven’t spent a ton of time with it yet. Have you tried the Volair Mach Forza 2 16mm? It’s a control paddle with a little different feel from the Flow and Loco, you might like that one too.
@@pickleballeffect Ok, I think I'll try the Forza Mach 2. I've been looking at that one also. How does the feel compare to the DBD 16mm? Is the control significantly better over DBD?
Yeah, there is a lot out there. I do keep a list of what I think are the best control, all-court, and power paddles you can find here, pickleballeffect.com/hot-list/.
Yeah, the widebody or standard shape is starting to gain some popularity on tour. In the past those shaped paddles just didn't have much power to them but new tech has changed that and made them more attractive with the decent power you can generate with them combined with the bigger sweet spot. I'm personally playing with a 14mm widebody paddle right now too and am liking it.
Not sure what pros your referring to but if they are sponsored by Joola then they have no choice but to use a Joola paddle its a part of their legal contract. Pros aren’t consumers like the rest of us. They don’t need to buy paddles and I’m sure if they could then they would play with different companies. I will say Joola makes great paddles so it’s not uncommon for people to like them. Most pros still play with an elongated shape. Standard is becoming more popular on tour but the majority is still definitely playing elongated.

was wondering since you have the paddle is the grip or handle Length long or short ?
@@danielbonca7591 short
Volair Mach 2 maybe? But they’re wide shaped
Where exactly did he add tape at? Trying to do the same
I had 3-4 grams of weight on each side just above the bottom two corners.

Honolulu J2Ti plays pretty similar
Would like to see this compared to the Neonic Flow.
I answered that in another comment if you want to check it out.
Is the Loco firmer or softer then the Neonic Flow?

Interested in how dbd compares to mach 2 forza too
Not to count out paddle testers, with over 400 options out there it just seems to have the ten best review?

99% of tested paddles the pros don’t use, I see the majority of pros using joola paddles and the wide body not hybrid or elongated?
