- A Tutorial on cleaning and filling your Kanger Mini Protank 3 there are many methods to cleaning this is the one I currently use.

Hi Art Vapes! Thank you for a very good video! After trying several of the clearo-type tanks, I finally found this one which makes me happy with the taste and performance. The others I tried muted the flavor too much and weren't very consistent. (I've been using cartomizers, the ones with the polyfill) ever since they came out.
Since I've been using this little tank (mini Kanger Pro Tank 3 which looks exactly like yours) for a couple weeks I thought it would be a good idea to give it a proper cleaning. I'm having trouble getting the end caps off the glass cylinder part of the tank. They won't budge and I was beginning to think they were glued on, especially since the extra glass cylinder I ordered does not have any threads.
My next attempt will be to use rubber gloves to get a better grip, but I don't want to force it to the point of breaking the glass. It's like unscrewing a lid from a jar isn't it? (lefty loosey, righty tighty). Or is there some secret thing you did off camera when you took the end caps off? Hmmmmmm......? =)

To remove the end caps holding the glass tube, you may need to use a paper towel to get a better grip if its already wet and yes its lefty loosey righty tighty :) the rubber gloves could be a good idea to create some friction and give a better grip shouldn't take a lot of force to take them off as they are not glued on you could try running it under warm water for a minute to soften up the rubber O-rings then using a paper towel try loosening it. let me know how it works out for you.
Art Vapes I finally got it apart. Had to use hot water, dried it off, then used a deflated balloon ('cause I couldn't find my rubber gloves - lol - that just proves I don't like to clean) to grip the end caps - gripped both ends with the balloon and unscrewed them apart. Now I know how they stay on that smooth glass cylinder/tank that has no threading or glue! The post is attached to one of the end caps! All you need to do is unscrew the end cap off that post! Wouldn't it be safer to just grip the other end cap instead of the glass tank, because of the chance the glass could break if gripped or squeezed to hard? They must have had Sasquatch working for them the day my tanks were made.
I have been doing dry burns every few tank-fulls. I haven't kept track, but it seems like I can get at least a dozen tanks of juice using one coil replacement before the taste of the juice gets so weak that I don't like it anymore. I've been using the 1.5 ohm coils that came with each tank and also 2.0 ohm coils I ordered separately. It's difficult to see, but the 2.0 ohm coils seem to be made of a little thicker wire. I just dry burn them to keep them clean and last a while longer. I wiggle the little post that is on the coil head to remove it along with the silicon cap, then set that part of the coil head aside. Then I fire the button for a few seconds - and wow! - so much smoke comes out. I just keep doing this over and over until I can see all the wraps on the top coil glow bright orange and there is no more smoke. I'm assuming the same is happening to the coil beneath it.
I'll pulse it until I don't smell any burnt smell. Then I take an amazing little tool I found called Sunstar G-U-M Go-Betweens. They come in 3 sizes - Tight, Moderate, and Wide. They are for cleaning between braces, bridges, implants, and tooth spaces. I got them at the drugstore where all the toothpaste and other teeth cleaning products are (like dental floss). I like the Wide size. It's like a tiny bottle brush, but with soft bristles. I gently brush against the coils to remove any charred remains, drip a few drops of e-liquid on the coils and wicks, wiggle the little post back in and pull down the silicon cap - and they are good as new for the first couple times. FYI: Do not forget to put back the post and silicon cap before you fill the tank and screw on the base or you will have a bit of a mess - yeh, I've done that a few times. With any further dry burn cleanings, the draw is still loose, but the flavor diminishes. I can handle a couple slightly flavor-muted tanks, then it's time to switch out the used coil head for a new one. This is when I am wondering if I should learn to rebuild and/or replace the old wicking with cotton. But wouldn't cotton just burn? - especially if I dry burned the coils?
I really like my mini bottle brushes. If anyone does this, don't get carried away and brush too much because it is likely to break a coil. (Ask me how I know.) ;) These little "Go-Betweens" are great! They can also be used to clean other little crevices. If I need a little bit larger "bottle brush," disposable mascara brushes work well. You can get them at Sally Beauty Supply. A pack of either of these two little brushes only cost a few dollars, if that much. The mascara brushes aren't so soft, but they are great for cleaning the center of a drip tip along with other tiny things like jewelry. Oh, and while you are at Sally's, go look at all the stuff that is used to decorate fingernails. There are so many tiny things that you can use to add a little bling to your PV or even a tank. If you want to differentiate among flavors in several tanks, just add a tiny crystal or decal to let you know what flavor is in it.. I was hoping to do this with the different colors of glass cylinder replacements, but I can't seem to find anywhere that has all the colors.
If you dry burn, be careful to fire your device for about 5 seconds at a time. I popped a coil by pressing the "firing" button for too long. When I heard that "pop" I figured I ruined the replacement coil. When I tried to fire it again, nothing happened, thus confirming I popped the coil (or probably both coils).
I am now using this little tank on an iTaste MVP. It's about time I upgraded from eGos, but eGos are still great and I'll continue to use them. These mini tanks look great on both devices.

Kanger uses the new dual replacement coils for that tank. I wouldn't recommend using the old evod replacement coils. You can find them on kangers website.

How do you refill the Protank 3 if the glass is not attached to anything? its movable so it leaks everywhere.
I cant unscrew the coil from the metal piece either. Im extremely frustrated and my hand is killing me.. any ideas????? thanks
I just cleaned mine, to change juices, without replacing the coil - but I'm getting that crackle sound when I draw. Does that mean I did something wrong?

Due to the angle I couldn't see what you were doing, how much liquid you put in, which part you were putting where, or anything that was going on.
Wow! This was my first vape way back when. Just dug it out and about to clean/refil with a quickly made up e-liquid. I presume that the liquid must be PG based as VG is too thick? Whatever way ..here goes.

Thanks for making this video. I have a question, though: I didn't see how you disassembled the tank after you removed the coil and the drip tip. Do the metal pieces at each end of the pyrex cylinder attach via friction or are there threads holding the top and bottom to the glass? I just got my first protank 3 mini and I'm trying to figure it out.

My rubber seal on the coil got stained from a liquid I used. Any way to get rid of that stained color?
Maybe its the batterie let me gues its got an internal battery doesint it ? Not replaceables
Where should there be an O ring? I took mine apart and an O ring came out and I wasnt surr where to put it back on.. The shop I go to just said it was an extra O ring in my tank. And been using the tank with no problem. But still want to know where that O ring suppose to go.

There is a total of 4 RUBBER O RINGS on the mini protank 3 they are located in this order, on the drip tip in the top in the upper base and one at the base I'll provide a link to my facebook page where you can see an exploded diagram of the mini protank 2 RUBBER O RING placement is going to be exactly the same, hope that helps and thanks for watching

Can i use a rda on this or a bigger tank than whats on it?
I just bought a mini protank 3 and tried using it but all my liquid keeps leaking from the threaded base. I tried changing my coil hoping it'd work but it still leaks. Help?!
I "suck" air when I vape? You can hear it. Is that normal. I use a Spinner III with a Tanger mini tank. How do I correct this?

hey man, a couple of questions of a noob ( I have googled them but no answers so far)
1.- Do I need to clean it if Im refilling with the same flavor?
2.- Internet says that you should not vape anymore if liquid is 1/3 of capacity...BUT this measure is with the intake up or down (it changes considerably)
Hey thanks for watching ...to answer question 1. Filling with the same liquid under normal circumstances generally would not require cleaning, however if you experienced any off/burnt taste I would recommend cleaning and changing your coil would also suggest cleaning every week or so regardless of liquid being the same just as a good practice of sanitation and keeping your gear in top working condition to answer questions 2. I would need more information ie. Type of tank and coil system your talking about ...if your talking about the mini protank I've never had any issue vaping all the way to an empty tank I would imagine the biggest issue you would have vaping below the 1/3 of a tank would be burning out your coil but even with a 1/3 of a tank it's not that common to happen hope this helped answer your questions and as a suggestion check out my other vid on DIY coils and wicking for the mini protanks ....good luck and keep on vaping
thanks for your input, and great answers it is a proton mini 3 , when I stand it battery looking up its about half capacity, but when I do battery looking down it less than 1/3 capacity. when vaping at this level I sense bubling but no perciabable change in flavour or amount of vapor. just wondering what would make my coil last longer
How do I clean the wicks....? I haven't ordered replacement coils yet and I want to swap flavors because I'm running low on my favorite and don't want to use the rest until I reorder..
Do I just leave the wick alone and put my new flavor in there and wait until the old flavor gets vaped away?
You could just leave the coil the way it is, but to keep the flavor of the different juice from being funky at first, you can take out the wicks, pat dry them with a paper towel, and dry burn the coil first, then reassemble. There are a lot of tutorials out there on how to do this with tanks, so make sure you watch those so you do it right and not burn out your coil while dry burning. Cheers :)
My botom to peaces or stuck and i cant unscrew it i even tryed 2 pairs of pliyers and nothing so i filt it from the top and its not working it lights up but dosent burn i charge it coler flashes blue red green and yellow wat is wrong any help?
mine gets all oily especially the glass part so the juice leaks out of the tank whenever I put down or leave in my bag?? I cleaned it twice it still loose and leaks

The only downside to this tank is not being able to fill it all the way, it's really annoying.

jameshone1000 discountvapers.com sells coils that work in the evod too. You might want to take a look.
jameshone1000 evod coils are short so no they dont, but evod glass coils are the same as protank 3. Protank 3 uses dual coil design and it's taller than evod's single coil

god this tank blows. shouldve got something a little bigger (thats what she said) but ive had to clean and refill this 3 times and ive only had my vape like 3-4 hours. and its easy to get dry hits on juices that are more VG, but ive heard thats pretty common

I wish it took replaceables so much better cus batterie goes bad just replace with internal it goes bad your fucked
