Watching the "wonky" heart appear was magical ❣ I think all the seed stitching, etc you did just turned it in to something special ❤ Thank you for the tutorial 😃
You always surprise me, K3N. I really couldn't fathom the heart shape until you were near the end, and I love it. Hearts are so exploited in feminine lore but you bring us a heart of strength and whimsy. The seed stitching was a perfect solution to add tactile pleasure. These may be known as "love cabins". Even an un-woke man should appreciate these.
Your comment made me do a very 'unfeminine' hearty chuckle. 😁 A few years ago, I made a series examining the symbolism of the feminine throughout history and I know what you mean about hearts. And the name 'love cabins ' is perfect and loaded with symbolism. ❤️❤️❤️
‘On the wonk’, I love that (new to me) expression!! Beautiful heart Kathryn and looking forward to everything that you make and show us. Have a lovely day💖🍀❤️
Wonky Wednesday just keeps getting better & better! Thank you so much for inspiring us. I also love to hear your “wittering.” In the states we would probably call it “rambling.” It’s relaxing & interesting!
Please, we enjoy your withering so much. Don’t stop, it’s relaxing and soothing in your lovely British accent. Me, I have a southern/Texas twang, not nearly as lovely as yours.
Thank you. That was absolutely adorable. The heart really popped when you put the final round of background on and did the stitching. I was the one you heard yelling "double up the sari silk" lol just before you doubled it over. I'm really enjoying this wonky series ❤ Australia
🥰❣️ I recently went thrifting. While running my fingers over the high thread count cotton sheets I heard your voice 🤣 “It’s a lovely piece of fabric but do you want to hand stitch through it?” 😳 My local craft store had Osnaburg cotton on sale (thanks for the tip🤗)
the stiching made all the difference! Now I might try...heartshape is always my go to when starting. something new...but circels is coming as well. Love seedstiching..
Thank you Eva yes this one really comes together with the stitching. I am experimenting with a pieced version for next week that will (hopefully) be more straightforward to make. ❤️
Awh, 'hearts' are one of my faves. Your heart turned beautifully!! I am new and love your log cabin journal. I will go watch your tutorial on creating it. Ty!!
Привет Кетрин ,получилось очень красивое сердечко очень много у вас идеи ,поделитесь с нами подписчиками.Мы ,любим вас ,ваш канал ,желаем успехов и показать другие ваши идеи.
I love the❤ - I could not even begin to visualise how it would be! I actually watched this on wonky Wednesday after a very fraught day and fell asleep! I was in bed at the time! Your voice is very relaxing and brilliant for teaching as it keeps your viewers calm too. Well it does me and other folk have mentioned it too. Big love from Scotland❤
Thank you for another log cabin page. I am enjoying Wonky Wednesday. lol, though my entire week seems a bit wonky at times! I like the freedom to not have to be perfect🌷🌷🌷
Hi Kathryn, I was fascinated to see how you were going to turn this into a heart. The end result was amazing all the beautiful stitching you did at the end, wow just blew me away. I love it. Have a good week love Bella. Xx❤
Love this scrappy heart. My mom had a lot of pink fabrics (her favorite color) and I’ve been using them for the “I Found a Quilted Heart” project. But I think I need to make some of these for a rice bag for myself. ❤
This one was fascinating to watch. I got a bit lost when the diagonally trimmed pieces went in but then the heart emerged like a galleon sailing out of the mist. Very satisfying. I also love how beautifully it toned with the journal. There wasn't as much wittering as usual...hope all is well... Mary x
It's really beautiful ❤ I so look forward to wonky Wednesdays Kathryn! I know it's only a matter of time before I cave in and start making these wonky little log cabin blocks ~ I love them so ❤❤
I do love this adorable heart, but I really struggle with the technical issues…😅 Not that I can’t do it, but I’m not a quilter and piecing so many bits in specific places tests my patience 😅 I say this, because I’ve just finished the geese and… oh, my, I watched your video twice, I stopped each time I had to stitch, because I couldn’t figure out where I had to put the geese 😅!! In the end, it came out quite nice and I don’t know how that happened 😂! I’m more of a messy, intuitive stitcher, who picks a random piece and a random thread and stitches it in a random place 😂 Anyway, they say it’s good to leave our comfort zone and I have surely been doing that: I also did the Bento box, but I didn’t struggle with this one. So, lovely, Kathryn, I will do this wonky heart so I can prove to myself that I can do it and also to teach myself to be more patient 😂 Lots of love and today more hearts than usual 🧡💙🩶❤️🩷💛💚🤍♥️🤎💜🖤🩵🧡💙🩶❤️🩷💛💚🤍♥️💜🖤🩵
Thank you Alexandra for all the hearts. Piecing can be challenging if you aren't used to it, even wonky and without the precise measuring etc but it does give a different look so I still like to do it even though I mostly do the more random collage style myself these days. I am so pleased you are inspired to have a go at these blocks though because what I see on Instagram from you is beautiful work. Much love to you ❤️❤️❤️
Love your ideas and videos. I especially liked the slow, measured stitching and assemblage in real time and listening to you talking. So soothing and gentle. No matter how long the video, I watch in entirety and that is a large part of the enjoyment. I was disappointed this time that we didn’t get to experience the real time sewing with your conversational commentary [aka wittering]. It lost the lovely soothing oasis quality with the sequences skipped. I expect this is to do with the video length debate, but I can’t be the only one that thoroughly enjoyed the slower and longer, relaxed style videos. Please may we have the longer videos?
Hello Hilary, you are right about the longer video thing, it has been in my head. I have been editing the Wednesday videos and trying to keep them around the half hour mark as opposed to the Monday ones that are mostly real time. When I edited this, I wasn't entirely happy with the flow myself. It's difficult to get the balance right. I will keep trying until I do. I enjoy making the longer videos and chatting with you all and the feedback I get is that most of you enjoy them too. It's just that RUclips analytics thing that I try to ignore but of course I want my channel to grow as well as maintaining the lovely community feeling that is here already. I am still fairly new to this and thank you so much for your support while I learn. ❤️
You are phenomenal to answer comments. I know how time consuming that is in addition to everything else, thank you. I understand the dilemma and the RUclips algorithm issues. I always stayed watching long videos, enjoying every moment. The length seemed to me to echo the mindful calm, well for me at least. I can’t imagine it’s completely calm for you. Watching Marion this week, she was struggling with the identical problem of video length and said she would speak to you about it. Thank you for all you do. I am trying new things. My neighbour was bewildered when I asked if he had any rusty bits. I’m looking forward to the ceremonial opening of your rusty bundles this month xx
Thank you Hilary, I haven't had a chance to watch Marion yet but I know that she and I both appreciate feedback from you all as it helps us to navigate this RUclips labyrinth. 😁 I am currently uploading Monday's video and it's an hour and 40 minutes with minimal editing so I hope you enjoy it. 😉❤️
Love your content ...I am a animal lover my family and I live in Northern California and we are surrounded by farms the biggest animal I have owned is a beautiful pair of golden retriever s. Anyhow this is my long winded ramble to justify asking to see a picture of your horse ? No worries if he or she doesn't like to be photographed lol but I always wonder what it looks like. Horses around here look very western lol
Beautiful!! When my daughter and I were in Vienna we watched the Lippizzaners yikes spellchecker can't even understand my spelling lol ie the dancing horses ..what an amazing animal they are ..thanks for letting me know
Hi Kathryn, you mentioned that you had sold or given away your heart block pieces... I wonder where you've sold work in the past? Always at exhibits? 💖
That was just magical. It appeared out of nowhere, definitely more please. xx
Watching the "wonky" heart appear was magical ❣ I think all the seed stitching, etc you did just turned it in to something special ❤
Thank you for the tutorial 😃
My pleasure, I am so pleased you enjoyed it 😊
Fascinating to watch the heart's construction. You had me guessing until the fourth round. And "on the wonk" is a very useful new phrase. ❤
BEAUTIFUL! Love the various red fabrics💕 and the stitching embellishments. Simply gorgeous♥️
Thank you 😊
So fun! Glorious red with a star twinkling in the center. Complex little puzzle. xo

Thank you Jayne ❤️
Wonky Wednesday just keeps getting better & better! Thank you so much for inspiring us. I also love to hear your “wittering.” In the states we would probably call it “rambling.” It’s relaxing & interesting!
Thank you, yes I think wittering and rambling are the same. I am pleased you enjoy mine. 😁❤️
Please, we enjoy your withering so much. Don’t stop, it’s relaxing and soothing in your lovely British accent. Me, I have a southern/Texas twang, not nearly as lovely as yours.
Thank you Judith' I am sure your voice is lovely ❤️

I think so, too. 😊
I love southern twangs!
I ❤ this week's heart block. Can't wait to try it this weekend. ❤ thank you, Kathryn ❤
Thank you Lucille, hope you enjoy making your own ❤️
Thank you. That was absolutely adorable. The heart really popped when you put the final round of background on and did the stitching. I was the one you heard yelling "double up the sari silk" lol just before you doubled it over. I'm really enjoying this wonky series ❤ Australia

They would make a lovely rice bag, but then I think that about every block 😂 I currently want to make one with crazy patchwork. 😁❤️
Another brilliant idea ❤ for using scraps. I love it ❤❤❤

Dear Kathryn,
Could you show us how you cut your strips? I have lots of cloth, but feel intimidated by the task.
Hello Marta, I mostly tear them, I will show how I do it at the beginning of next week's video ❤️

❤ Bravo
Merci 😊
Aw just beautiful k3n - love the colours love the shape - in fact I would love yours hehe

Thank you Rhonda 😊
I love this .....but can't do it ...will try again tomorrow 💚x
I am sorry, it's just that tricky round with the angles where you need to keep your wits about you. I am sure you will get there. ❤️❤️❤️
I love your Wonky Wednesday art pieces!!! This one appears to be a bit more difficult though. I will give it my best shot! Lol. Hugs ❤
The round with the angles is a little tricky but I am sure you can do it 😉❤️

Hi Kathryn, you mentioned that you had sold or given away your heart block pieces... I wonder where you've sold work in the past? Always at exhibits? 💖
Hello yes I have mostly sold at exhibitions, I might make some of my work available online at one point but need to sort out the hows and wheres. 😉❤️
Would a mini travel iron that’s kept on your sewing area be useful? Just saying as i share same aversion to ironing?
I actually have one, a vintage one but it works fine. It lives in a drawer. 😂❤️
