I reckon, for artists like yourself, you could put a couple of reels of thread. I LOVE your videos Kathryn. The more I binge, the sooner I make a start. This is something I have always thought I would like to try, I’m 75, it’s never too late. Thank you for sharing.❤❤❤
My mother told me her tip for threading needles. She said, "Needles have a front and back side. If it won't take the thread on one side, try the other". I love your work. The softness along with the scrappiness is right up my alley. I love NRQ (No Rules Quilting) projects. You've inspired me to make some pouches for my granddaughters. Maybe one or two for myself as well.

My family always does a penny (since we're in US) in a bag or purse, too. A few other nice things to put in pouches are a nice pen or other stationery type thing, a nice little pin or brooch, fashion jewelry/baubles, and lip balm tubes. Clearly we love the pouch gifts 😊
Hi. Can’t believe how much i enjoyed this. I relate to so much of what you said especially the bit about retrieving bits of fabric from the bins. I thought I was the only mad woman that did that! I can’t bear to see a scrap of fabric being discarded. I look forward to following along with your projects for 2024. Thanks for your videos.
Just watched this one again and gathered my little bits and pieces to make my own little pouch. I am enjoying your channel very much and find it very therapeutic. Having been a hopeless perfectionist all my life I have learned that wonky is good and done is more useful than perfect. I cheat and get my brother to thread a bunch of needles for me and use clothes pegs to hold my work until I tack and then sew it. I'm going to tuck some saved cottage garden flower seeds into a pouch for a good friend. Grateful thanks from vera
Good morning Vera, I think it's fantastic how you are finding ways and means. Getting your brother to thread needles reminds me of the traditional American quilting bees, when the children would sit under the quilt frame and thread needles for the women quilters. Love the idea of a seed pouch for your friend. ❤️
I always thought of basting as temporary stitches that you needed to remove after sewing, but with this invisible basting, you can leave it on and it looks great. I just love your handwork and have a bin of scraps that I have been saving for such a project as this......and especially your meditation scrolls.......THANK YOU for sharing...vivian

Hello thank you so much for your lovely message, a little pouch containing an invite to Yorkshire tea and a scone followed by a little stitching sounds heavenly ❤️
This is delightful. Thank you for such an informative post to teach me a new form of hand work. Love everything about your channel. 😊
My pleasure and welcome 🤗
I love your choices for fabrics......and your circles for stitching.
Looks like we have a lot in common. Now, to learn how to do slow stitch! My grandmother embroidered and i remember once she let me practice a couple easy stitches. Now almost 70 years later, i want to learn hand embroidery even though I have a 15 needle embroidery only machine.😊😮😅
go for it! there's a weekly stitch along and you have only missed two so not much catching up. and a private Facebook group with lots of lovely, supportive people sharing their work and encouraging each other. 😁❤️❤️❤️
@@k3n.clothtales Thank you! I have been binge watching your videos off an on all day. Great videos and channel, SO happy I found you!

William Morris said "Only have around you what is useful and beautiful." and your wonderful pouches tick both boxes. I've been wanting to make a pouch for my crochet hooks...one of those will be perfect, and the first of many. Thank you so much.
You're welcome, love Morris. I was working for the V&A in London in the early nineties when the big Morris exhibition was on. Gorgeous 🥰
Great tutorial and I'll have a go at one myself now

Thank you for a thorough tutorial and for your calmness. I’m stitching along with iron-on hexies while listening/watching you. I have a similar boro-inspired rectangular piece all collaged up,l’ll make a pouch of it, thank you Katherine. Liked & have subscribed.
Re ideas to put in pouch for gifting: my friend hinted she likes purple flowers, I’ll put in seed packets of purple flowers.
Can’t wait for your next project, Japanese rice bag!
Take care.

Thank you so much ❤️
I have just discovered your RUclips channel and found it is perfect to listen to as I work on a quilt. Your voice goes so well with your whole concept of meditation. My scraps usually go to someone who makes dog beds for shelters but now I will be saving some of those fabrics that I love. Plus finally I have a use for thread nest I manage to accumulate from other needlework. Thank you for taking the time to share what you do.
My pleasure so happy you found me, I am sure the little doggies won't miss a scrap or two 😁❤️
Stayed with you from start to finish so enjoyed it. I love the pouch !❤
