I never look back at my week and I feel ashamed. I let that time pass without a second thought. I don't know if there is a strategy to help me appreciate my childhood. Perhaps a journal in a book or film that I can read or watch to remind me of the things I've done. I just hope that the time that has passed will not be a waste for my future as an adult.

I'm going into my junior year, and I don't think I ever felt so depressed. I have this emptiness in my heart where I would be going on adventures and having fun outside, which I hadn't been able to experience before my parents divorced 10 years ago. I have been staying inside the house, not able to go outside because my mom has to work long hours and barely comes home, and my dad has lots of injuries and is handicapped. I have tried to play sports, but I won't be able to come back home since my dad can't drive at night. Ive asked my dad if I can go out, but he thinks something is going to happen, so I have been dwelling inside my room sad for the past 4 years, and it feels like nothing can be done. So I'm deciding what I could do right now to find out what I can do to improve my future once I graduate. Ive been looking at colleges, but they are most likely too expensive for me to afford since my dad made it clear he was not helping me with it, so that is probably not going to happen unless I get a scholarship. So my only motivation right now is going to school and getting good grades. But I have hope that everything is going to get better-maybe not in the near future, but eventually. Great video Dillion!!❤

man nostalgia might be the best and worst feeling ever.. the happiness of remembering what life used to be like compared to what it is now.. I am still a kid but I’m starting to get to that point in life where I’m worrying about what my job will be and how I will survive instead of having no worries and just playing games all night long.. and I also feel that I’m straying away from my friends as well to the point where I feel when I am a young adult I will be living the rest of my life alone/with few family members and friends.. I definitely believe that the school period of your life is the best because you are young, you will have the most fun and make the most memories and you will also have the most friends; until you become an adult/leave school and you realise that you will never experience life as you once knew it again: laughing in the back of the class with your classmates, playing games like Fortnite with friends and not having a worry in the world..

I adopted this mindset literally the day I was able to wrap my head around the concept of nostalgia when I was like 13/14. There’s nothing wrong with looking back on past times and reminiscing. But living life to the fullest is what makes nostalgia possible. Living in the present moment and really taking in what life has to offer whether it’s happy, sad, scary, boring, exciting, confusing, etc.. is one of the most brave and courageous things you can do. It’s very easy to hide in the past and forget about what’s happening right now. Lifting yourself up, taking chances, and having fun is what makes life worth living. Granted that’s all easier said than done but if you’re still young and figuring things out for yourself, don’t be afraid to live your life to the absolute fullest❤️

im literally crying while watching this video, im currently 13 years old and i have these friends that i would do anything for, i would literally die for them, we have been friends for over half my life, and my dad has some pretty bad problems, im not gonna say everything about him but he was raised pretty horribly and he thinks that is just the norm with every family. that has caused him to treat the rest of my family pretty badly, anyways about my friends they are the only people that i can actually talk to and just be happy around but my dad is all about like the family has to stay together, and i have told my friends the truth about my dad and they understand because they are in kind of similar situations, but my dad thinks that all i ever do is trash talk to them behind his back and just tell our sob story when that is not true all ive done with them is talked to them about the truth of my dad because i guess i needed to talk to someone because i am in a pretty bad place right now and ive been thinking about killing myself since i was 7 years old anyways so my dad has already kept me away from my brother and sister who are both moved out because he thinks they have turned everyone away from him when they have only told the truth of him and he has now taken away all of my friends and basically the rest of my family just because he thinks they turn me against him. so right now i have no one else left but my mom and dad. btw he barely lets me talk to my mom too.basically he is trying to force me to love him by taking everyone away from me. He is also getting mad at me like all the time because im too sad or in a bad mood and i think thats because he has some brain issues that cause him to have little to no sympathy for anyone. yeah so im having some pretty bad thoughts of just giving up because there is nothing left for me here. i really hope that you see this dillon im just asking for some help right now.(btw im on my moms account my actual name is warren)

You made me Just not care when I am not in the moment and to appreciate life even more and I was thinking, already life from before has seemed like it has passed so fast and I am only 13. It is amazing but at the same time not. I wish I could go back and talk to friends and family that are gone or I can't see anymore. I wish I could control the time or redo some pretty messed up things I have done in my life not gonna lie. but you made me think so much more about it. Thank you, I appreciate it.

Watching this made me cry, but not only that made me realize the limit of time that we have on this world and how many precious memories we can have in our lifetime
Even though I’m an elementary school this hit hard. It’s true because me being in like sixth grade I really do still sometimes think of the good old days in the memories, but I really never take a time to look around and realize that I’m in the present. Enjoy that time.
This is my first video I've watched from you and I love it! I just started high school recently and its a new school for me and its all crazy and stuff. I've never had sleepovers because my parents never let me but I do hang out with my friends at school but I've only just met them. At my olds schools I have friends that I talk to on calls but never get to see them. We always talk about our past on our calls and stuff. We also call it "the good old days". I never understood why we called it that until this video. I do have trauma and stuff but I have had a couple happy memories. Not a lot but some. Every time I think on those things I smile. Love the video!

The fact that u still managed to go outside and have friends is awesome because I’m now 14 and I’ve never stepped outside except going to school since I was 10 and I’m attached to my screen 24/7 because I am to scared to go outside

This is so real, I’m going into 8th grade this year. Me and my elementary school bsf used to hang out everyday. Me and Noah, and eventually, Zack. I met Zack in kindergarten but didn’t start hanging out until later. Me and Noah met in 3rd grade, when our teacher sat us right across from each other. We eventually started talking in class, then it went to hanging out at recess, and at some point, we were having campfires at each others houses every summer night. Fast forward to 5th grade, me, Noah, and Zack are for the first time, all in the same class. We were the iconic 5th grade trio. Then we went to middle school. Noah and Zack met through me and that’s how we were all friends. Well, when we went to 6th grade, I didn’t have classes with Zack and Noah. They had like 2 classes together. I never did. I had gym with Noah in 7th grade but that’s it, we never talked. Over the summer I’ve been trying to reach out to him and hang out sometime. But now I realize, it’s not worth it. I should just hang out with my new friends. Noah and Zack are always gonna be part of “the good old days”. I walked past Zack’s house the other day, and I just kinda stood there for a few minutes thinking about all of the memories that we made there. I drive by Noah’s house anytime I leave the neighborhood, and think about those summer nights, in his backyard, staring at the stars on the trampoline. Or bothering his older sister. Or even prank calling my mom one time lol. I want to relive those memories, knowing that it’s never gonna happen. This has inspired me to go make a new best friend. Noah and Zack are in the past, they made memories for me that I will never forget, but now it’s time to say goodbye. Zack, Noah, if you see this, you guys made a huge impact on my life. 🫶
The saddest thing is hanging out with all of my friends back then was so fun but now no one wants to hang out with me and I never thought I’d ever be excited for school to start just because I can see friends but who knows if they really are and the Main thing is if anyone is struggling like me just remember if you just have one close friend that’s Better then having 100 fake friends and if you don’t then find a real friend and trust me you will but it might take time
Every morning when i go to school, i meet up with a friend before class. We dont have much to talk about usually but mentioned person is always glued to their screen. Im in tenth class rn and i also am a victim of phone addiction, but at least try to put it down when youre talking to your best friend, even when youre not even talking. I'm 13 years old. I have medical depression. Life is hard. I haven't had any friends that I can connect with, I'm so scared to grow up, to live my life. I don't want to be depressed anymore man, this shit sucks so bad. I don't go outside. I just want to be happier. I'm in love with the most beautiful girl I've ever met, she's funny, and I want to feel that love that I've never felt before. But I just can't feel happy. And I want that more than love.
Yo dude, I’m gonna be honest I’m not sure I can help you but I wanna try at least. I’m not a lot older than you, but wenn I was 13 I also had a moment in life were I wasn’t that happy, i was pretty fat and was lost tbh. But the way i turned that around was being jogging every evening before going to bed and although sometimes i really didn’t feel like doing it I just got up went out side and put one foot in front of the next. The route I ran everyday wasn’t long and it was right outside my door, but just being alone with myself in the dark and my Musik was quite meditating for me, because all the stuff in my live just wasn’t important while I was running and over time I lost some wait. I was so proud of myself because I knew I did something that not everyone could do and in that process of being proud of myself I learned that you just gotta love yourself and do the things you desire and even if that is hard sometimes just by trying to do that live feels better. One more thing that helped me the a lot is something that might not be for everyone and it is building a connection with god by reading the bible and praying. I’m not sure this helps you in anyway, but I wish you all the best on your journey and hope your live gets better.

Watching this made me reflect on how precious and wonderful some of the moments of our childhood can really be. Even with all the trauma and hardship, the good times are what makes us whole. As I grew up I began looking back and calling to when I was a kid without a care in the world; going on fishing trips with my dad, traveling to my grandmas, working on weekends with dad and throughout high school, even the occasional vacations to myrtle beach and having that one week of pure fun and bliss. God it was good to be a kid and just enjoy what good the Lord has to offer. Now as I have graduated high school and headed off to basic training to start serving my country, I can't help but long for the "good ol' times" and wish I could just go back. Even going as far as revisiting old places, restaurants, and experiences just to hold on to whatever part of childhood I can. It's rough learning we all must grow up someday and although I'm glad I had some great memories I wish I could've held on a bit longer. But for now I'll just have to reminisce and eventually live out my childhood dreams and memories through my future kids. To anyone who read all of this I hope you learn to hold on to your childhood and cherish the most of it, never wish to grow old quickly because once you do there is no going back and always depend on the Lord to be your guiding hand when you are lost. Although it feels like a rollercoaster now, life will calm down.
