      You are saying the same thing as me! If I don't enjoy using it, i am not using it! the iphone 16 pro I have I only take out to compare, and I had the same with the S24 Ultra, I just do not enjoy the camera experience, the playing around with it, the styles, the soul/characther it captures, well the lack of it!

      I can't afford more than what I have now really, so I probably won't test many devices unless I'm sent review units, or if the channel grows to be able to fund purchasing more devices to try.

    How's the camera kit? Is there half-press focus lock? I see that you're still tapping on the phone screen to tell the camera where to focus. Would you say it's more functional as a grip with built-in battery?

    • @ShibiChan
      @ShibiChan  2 месяца назад +1

      @@williamwyt402 Thanks for watching!
      It's half press to focus, but I did still tap the screen pretty often as it wasn't always focusing where I wanted to. Not a deal breaker, but just what it was.
      If I was doing portraits it'd be better as the face tracking seems quite good with the grip attached.
      Also the 1500 mAh doesn't last as long as I expected while shooting a bunch!
      The zoom rocker is also quite handy.

    Hey, I hope all is well. You have some incredible videos and are really pushing smartphone photography.
    I just had a few questions:
    1. Are there any good MotionCam tutorials from scratch for beginners
    2. Are they any videos that show the entire workflow (even for a short clip) from going from the Raw/Log footage obtained from MotionCam to the final product?
    It's very confusing as an absolute beginner to know where to start, especially on an android device.

    Awesome shots from the 14 Ultra, I always wondered what this little beast can do in the right handa and the photos came out superb. Are they higher quality/easier to edit than the Vivo? How about a quick comparison between some Xiaomi shots and the Sony a7IV

    is it battery dropping too much while using camera ?

    • @ShibiChan
      @ShibiChan  Месяц назад

      @@momo_99 That's the biggest downside for me so far, is that battery life isn't particularly great.
      Shooting photos like this for an hour or two could possibly drain it 40-50% if I'm using it normally in between as well as constantly having the camera app open

    • @andylive974

      @@ShibiChanI shoot in Disneyworld from 7 am to 9 pm. Try to activate developer mode, select 4 background processes maximum and give it a try. It may help. Of course you can lock the apps you want to use. It's mainly google stuff that takes all the battery away.

      Or you can activate ultra battery if you plan to exclusively shoot for an extended period of time.

    How good is the pro mode on the phone? Quite reliable or some times you used auto with raw config?

    • @ShibiChan
      @ShibiChan  2 месяца назад

      @@sirwlat I mostly always shoot auto, even when planning to edit afterwards. It's just easier for me, and I've found myself getting more good photos in auto mode than I have trying to set manual settings in the moment. I've missed quite a few shots in the past for trying to play with manual settings. That's just me though.
      I'd say pro mode is totally fine. I have a few woes with the camera app layout and how settings are laid out, but not to the point of it being a deal breaker or anything

    • @sirwlat
      @sirwlat 2 месяца назад

      @@ShibiChan Understandable, I do the same with my pixel, raw and editing them. With the limitations of only using one lens, and mostly cropping 2x. But overtime I now have a melt with pixel as the hardware is behind the competition, and I am looking to get away from it. I would still like a phone under 6.5, have the camera capability of the vivo x100 and xiaomi 14 ultra, with the battery as well, I cannot stress how much I hate the battery and charging on a pixel. I am looking around for the soon x200 pro mini to pop put, and see if that is viable, or I ultimately have to give up on a small phone.
      Nonetheless, I am not a fan of Google taking all my data, and I don't think a Chinese manufacturer is better either, but at least I am getting the deserved hardware that I pay for.

    • @ShibiChan
      @ShibiChan  2 месяца назад +1

      @@sirwlat I used to feel the same about the data part. It's why I'm not getting Chinese domestic versions of these phones, even though they're considerably cheaper.
      The end goal will be to root and get something close to stock Android. Not a huge fan of hyperOS

    • @sirwlat
      @sirwlat 2 месяца назад +1

      @@ShibiChan I agree, and the end goal isn't really baked. You lose many features, camera notably, and banking. Moreover I do not believe there will be a contender other than IOS and Android for a very long time, unless a big company like Samsung makes an alternative or Linux. Although we have to cope with our data loss with these greedy companies.
      Nevertheless, every phone is made in China. It only comes down to how the company treats its users, which we are unfortunately cash cows.
