9.6 is about what my old 4.0 V6 Ranger will do (she's old). I'm impressed! A big truck like that hittin' 60 in less than 10 sec is pretty good, especially for it's age!
just saying. i already read the other comment of it not being 400. i have 205/100s and on my hot tune with a 38r im about 415HP. look up vids on them. there is a guy with 200/30s and he got 400s with low compression. just saying my $1600 injectors and my $1500 turbo are 400hp, no your tuner, intake, and straight pipe
A+ video! LOUD 'N' PROUD- the 7.3 with stock injectors cant make any more than 320 whp. And if you did a boosted launch you would prolly be in the 6-7 second range. But DO NOT do that until you do some transmission upgrades. The transmission is holding back some speed and not letting you put it all to the ground. Had a 99 7.3 blacked out on 37s with tuner, exhaust, intake, and torque converter / cooler; had 300k miles but had to sell. Currently have an 02 7.3 4x4 f550 manual, for our carpentey buisness, with 62k origional miles! Can send pics if you want. Sorry for long post. Keep it up dude!
APPRECIATE YOU ALL WATCHING! Comment what type of video content you wanna see on the channel here! (I read all comments!) thanks fam! Keep in mind I said Ballpark just shy of 400 hp... this truck "can make" set up with what it is. Don't get all keyboard warrior in the comments over the guess.😂😂😂 it's all for fun here!
under 10 seconds pretty good for a truck that size ,new it didnt get to 60 in less than 15 seconds. ive driven alot of these 7.3s stock ,haven't had one run nearly as good as yours does, doing pretty good. Especially for what has been Added so far .liked the video, look forward to seeing more. Especially liked the old first gen Dodge.
We had a 02 7.3 dullay that was a hoss of a truck I loved it to death we had a 100 hp chip on it and she'd move lol but sadly it got totaled last Saturday
An educated guess on flywheel horsepower numbers would be around 380. RWHP would be around 300 accounting for around 20% drivetrain loss. Factory power specs are rated at the flywheel, fyi.
I drove a 95 7.3 last night and had to floor it to get it to do anything. Slower than shit but fun to drive! The only powerstroke I've driven!! Got me wanting a 7.3
I own a 99 7.3 same tune in stage 2 racemode have a intake 5 inch stright pipe ive gotten mine to 117mph and wouldn't push it anymore damn near same build awesome truck
you guys are great!!! I have a 2000 f350 SRW 3.73 geared 4wd with just the ts-6, S&B intake and short (in front of the right rear wheel) exhaust (straight)......I travel I-45 from the DFW area to my home in Conroe, Texas 2x's a week (480 round trip) and with GPS I can bury the speedo to 102-104 and not redline.....its by no means routine....but that 'Stroke will fly!!!!!!
Just because a chip says 100 hp doesn't mean it puts out 100 hp. I bet you might push 300 hp. Gotta upgrade injectors and turbo to hit that 300 hp marl
Kyle Knittle thanks! But wait, don't you wanna join in on all the haters saying how terrible our guess was of just shy of 400hp??😂😂😂 ppl I tell ya🤦🏼♂️ appreciate you being a good sport man lol
LOUD 'N' PROUD not trying to be mean 😕 up dated tuning would help. But alot you need is 160/30 and tunes that would be closer to your 400rwhp. 140cc split may hit 340 hp but they are limited. Great video tho.
I hear you Mate - I build injectors myself and would say you are spot on. Most don't know that stock 130cc injectors doesn't make more than +60 horse - all out. Also - get rid of that out dated Edge before it hurts your engine when running it in 120 horse mode. You are asking for something that are not there. The video itself where nice - love a good looking 7.3 PSD
When it comes to Diesel we don't care about horsepower it's the torque, you might be mistaking the feeling you get in the truck as horsepower instead of what you're actually feeling is torque. Yes the guy is right the truck probably is making 300-310 at the wheels, but those numbers don't compare to torque readings. Torque is what spins your tires, torque is what puts you in your seat, torque is what a diesel engine makes to pull loads. Upgrade the tuning device to something newer and you'll know the difference right away. Technology has changed, theres been more time to experiment and everything is more advanced today that 10-15 years ago when that programer was new.
You must not know how a programmer works if you’re thinking it gives you that 50,75,100 or 150 extra hp by turning a knob/pressing a button. You need the supporting mods and a intake and exhaust aren’t enough. Especially for a 7.3 😂
how many miles are on the 7.3? my uncle bought a 2002 from my dad who bought it new and its creeping up on 300,000 and he's only had to replace normal wear parts, but it has an intake exhaust and tune and makes good power
Loud and proud.dont know if you guys mess with many 7.3s or not but if ya do get a php hydra.i used to think edge was the shit till I got a newer tune platform
*300. You didn't even have it on the 100 hp setting. And even if you did you'd be lucky to get a hundred horse and that's 100 horse would come hand in hand with intake/exhaust
90s Chevy trucks and fords will run forever. I love dodges but they’ve got rust problems and any older one will have rusted out body panels n shit cuz the way they were made.
Henry Hardwick Spinning tires the way he did Drastically takes away from his 0-60 time. Better traction and getting his turbo spooled up before he launches and his time would look way better. But like he said it's his work truck, he's not a drag racer. Just a kid having a good time with his dad. That's what should be taken away from this video. Awesome vid. Keep it up guys.!
Lol Nothin ever changes Back in the day We called that a ''Mustang dyno'1'' but 20 yrs later now all the mustang guys moved on from lil foxbody 5.0s and got 6.0s and 7.3s
I like the vid, but I'd like to add that the 400 hp you claim... is at the crank not at the wheels, the wheel hp is the number these guys with 100% over injectors and a big turbo are throwing out there. There's a rough estimate of about 20-25% power loss through the driveline from the crank to the wheels.
Not bad. My 95 7.3L is just a hair faster. I've got exhaust intake programmer. Just an old work truck. Forgot to mention it's got a built trc trans and a billet TC.
Dude those are impressive 0-60 numbers.... I always believed in the old 7.3's... Also I do believe I seen a video of a 6.7 powerstroke 0-60 in about 8 seconds so that is darn impressive numbers for a supposed "outdated" engine/truck.
Get it cheaper, a lot of miles and they didn't have any fantastic motors in that year. With either of the motors you get in that year you're looking at on going ignition problems or head gasket issues.
Is it rusty? Any mechanical problems? Service records? Those are pretty solid trucks I believe, however you should be able to get that one quite a bit cheaper if it has rust. At least that’s how it works in Missouri, since every old truck seems to be completely rusted out! 😂
Awesome. Great vid. Don't even respond to ppls dum comments. I'll thumb down em bigtimes. I got ur bak. Keepem coming. Cool edit man. McAllen tx supports ya !!
Dan Pruszynski you do realize that the 2002 7.3 with an Auto was 250hp stock? So with a new programmer on it rated for extreme performance and the 4 inch exhaust, intake, I take manifold upgrade, ect... it’s definitely not past 400 at all..... but it’s definitely more than 250hp..... see what I’m saying?
LOUD 'N' PROUD at the crank at the transmission takes power away plus I've owned 2 7.3s and currently own a 6.0 with the quicktricks Looney tunes which is dynoed to put out 430 ish horsepower now when I had my tuned and extremely mildly built 7.3 ( edge revolver on 140 tune, d66 turbo, 4 inch exhaust , all that little stuff) it made no where as much power as my completely stock 6.0 with the quicktricks Looney tune, so in conclusion if all it has is a programmer, exhaust, intake, and the little stuff it probably makes around 250hp at the tire
Btw I'm not trying to hate or anything like that, because I did too at one point believe my trucks made more power then they actually did but, I wouldn't necessary take a lot to achieve that power level on a 7.3 but there's a lot more that would go into it... you know?
Sorry bud, your pushing maybe 250-265hp it says right on the paperwork with any chip/programmer 80hp with proper modifications.Thats the same for the 100hp ect. Those stock injectors and stock turbo can only do so much, and then once you get larger injectors, your stock hpop and fuel pump can keep up ,it's an ongoing hole. I've got a tad over 12k invested in my f350 in the engine alone, 250/200 injectors,"5,000 alone", 88mm turbo, custom ground cam, supporting dual hpop, airdog fuel system, 4" downpipe into a cutout under the front door ECT ECT. This is in a 96 f350 quad cab dually, tons more invested into the rest of truck too.
You ain’t gona be making 400hp with just a edge tuner intake and exhaust. Maybe 300 (proven by many dyno’s) if your lucky. You need larger injectors and a ts6 or hydra with custom tunes to make 400hp at minimum obviously
I promise you that truck isn't even close to 400hp. These trucks only have 280hp stock. Stock injectors max at about 320hp and that's with tunes. My entire fuel system is upgraded and have a large aftermarket turbo and custom tune. My truck is only 407hp with lots of parts work and money
This is why there are so many misinformed people. Because people like you pretend to know what they are talking about. And don't have a clue. I've watch a lot of your videos and you give wrong information in EVERY video.
Stroker _Colony 🤷♂️hey, I say always... I'm no diesel tech, mechanic, or any of the above and I say things to the best of my knowledge. If you know it all then start your own channel and commit to it every day and "properly inform people" the way you want them to be. But if you're not willing to change something on your own, stop complaining about it. That's what I've always been told.
You aren't close to 400 horsepower on a 7.3 with a tune, intake, and exhaust. 325 is about tops for stock injectors with really good tuning. With the garbage edge tuning, you're probably under 300.

There’s no way a 7.3 will make 400 with stock turbo, injectors, hpop, and lift pump. I give it 300hp.
9.60 does not equal 400 hp .. turn that tunner ta 6 👌
300 hp can be reached with swapping out the cobra. 4” turbo back straight pipe. Kc turbo wheel And a good tune
9.6 is about what my old 4.0 V6 Ranger will do (she's old). I'm impressed! A big truck like that hittin' 60 in less than 10 sec is pretty good, especially for it's age!

You can stack those edges just saying on those 7.3s
Birdshot 308 No one has stacked chips in 10 years. This truck ain't making 400...not a hope in hell.
402hp & 825 with 200/30s and 38r
you could safely get 400hp with nitrous on a stock setup
I loved this vid man!! Cool to see you guys as a family laughing having a good time!

Only thing I can think of is a interior upgrade ????
What is the gearing in that truck?

And I'm just wondering on some advice I'm going to be 16 soon and I would like to know the best starter truck to get is
ITS RILEY2003 1996 Toyota truck 5 speed manual. Great truck
90s Chevy trucks and fords will run forever. I love dodges but they’ve got rust problems and any older one will have rusted out body panels n shit cuz the way they were made.
Bro Come check out the 2nd Gen I threw up on the channel... it's Even a 12valve!
Fairly sure 95 mph is tops for that truck due to governor I've had mine there once racing a semi on Route 15 north heading into New York at like 1am.
Idk if he wasn’t stepping on it enough but my 7.3 has an edge tune and my 0-60 is about 5 to 6 seconds
Henry Hardwick
Spinning tires the way he did Drastically takes away from his 0-60 time. Better traction and getting his turbo spooled up before he launches and his time would look way better.
But like he said it's his work truck, he's not a drag racer. Just a kid having a good time with his dad. That's what should be taken away from this video.
Awesome vid. Keep it up guys.!
U gotta love the sound of the 7.3 screaming going 40mph
The slomo clip in the beginning sounded like a tractor.

Dude those are impressive 0-60 numbers.... I always believed in the old 7.3's... Also I do believe I seen a video of a 6.7 powerstroke 0-60 in about 8 seconds so that is darn impressive numbers for a supposed "outdated" engine/truck.
Ray Dornbush yeah the 6.7's are really fast for a heavy truck
nice shed.
My dad has a 7.3l and he has a super chip he goes fast and roals coal
That moment when my sti does 60 in half the time
Lmao pops out beatin the ole 7.3 😂😂😂😂
Thinking about getting a 97 f150 with 214k miles for around $3,000. Any suggestions???????
P J kinda high miles for a gasser maybe
But it could be solid idl

But if you're not willing to change something on your own, stop complaining about it. That's what I've always been told.
400hp to go slower than a 60hp yaris… D:
Had mine 118 racing a mustang wouldn't recommend it lol
Desertdieselgang lies
That wouldn't supries me
In no world are you making almost 400 hp with a mostly stock 7.3 and just an edge with canned tunes.
Unless you have hybrid injectors or 180cc with 30% injectors you are not making 400 horsepower.
My mom's prius does 10.35 in 0 to 60
RC BASHER89 cool
Good job dad. I’m a little less conservative good family though.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 maybe 290hp
Daily dose of 1 gen lmao
You aren't close to 400 horsepower on a 7.3 with a tune, intake, and exhaust. 325 is about tops for stock injectors with really good tuning. With the garbage edge tuning, you're probably under 300.
I have a hydra tune, gtp38r turbo with intake and 5 inch exhaust and a built trans, what do you estimate mine is making?
Stock fuel.
@@BradyBunting whose tunes and what injectors?
I love it ,factory hp is 275. 500 torque
If you think a factory 7.3 makes 275/500 you're kiddin yourself.
@@ridenorthwest1687 100% load a f350 up and you will see what a factory 7.3 can do ,I should no I have 1,Trump 2020 cupcakes
@@LaLaLucky7777 I've seen enough 7.3s stock and modded dynoed to tell you they hardly make 250 with a tune exhaust and intake...
@@ridenorthwest1687 come on dude so what's your stats 125 horse power and 200 torque stop next thing you will say Hillary Clinton won
@@LaLaLucky7777 First off, Hillary will never win. Second stock 94-97 7.3s make +/- 150hp,
A stock 98-03 maybe 185 at the wheels.
