I don’t have a shop or any real room for one where I live now. I knap in my kitchen on a 6x8 tarp when it’s dark or nasty outside. Sweep and dust after every session, but I still don’t walk in my kitchen barefoot lol
I would buy 2-3 pads if you make some for sale. I’m sure plenty of others would as well.
The rubber pad a bought is a little too big and I haven’t bothered with trying to narrow it. I just fold up my leg pad and use it for now. It works pretty well

Should put the broke with it as a pair for the auction. Good work on the two of them. 👍 It's always painful to see breaks happen at the end of things, but it's reality. Keepin' it real.

Thank you for the whole video. Final point would bring home dinner and some of the broken ones could too.😉

I am knapping Dacite. Using an exact replica of your Aluminum bopper and getting good results. If I made a video, mine would look like a surgical operating room. Blood everywhere. I knapped without a glove. Stupid me! Knocking off big flakes from Dacite spalls has my hands cut up with Band Aids on deep cuts.

I agree with Sticks, stone and a little metal too. You go beyond what would be asked already when you arrive a really beautiful triangular stage, and going that little bit further (putting notches in for example) and wind up breaking the piece. The craftsman in you gets you to a certain point where many would be happy with the results.... the artist in you pushes you a little further or sometimes too far and winds up in a broke. Don't get me wrong it's not a bad thing, but sometimes there's a point when you say "good enough: Stop!" Lol...ignore me I'm just ranting. Great video as always!

Nice! I love how you turning little flakes into exquisite pieces! As for two attempts with broken sides is it possible to turn stem into little triangular shape? Something like you did with rework in 1316-1317 videos?
Well most probably it is easier and faster to make new one of better material rather than rework these.. but as you say, everyone wants to see your tortures with pain-in-butt cases. Lol. You produced material for another challenge :D

It was easier to make an arrowhead with a pointed stem, but I prefer to stick with the original goal.

A hunting point appears long before the beautiful even flake pattern with thin deep notches if you stop at the hunting point your success rate will be a lot higher. Now if your knapping for art you have to go way past the usible point stage

Didn't expect to see so many failures. You must not be using the right tools. Either that or you don't have good coordination.
