Advise from an architect: 1. Start with an “everything is possible” mentality. 2. A LOT of presidents, exploring possibilities. 3. Create an extremely clear concept. 4. Create a few rules for your concept and stick to your concept throw every decision. 5. Make a few exceptions from the rules when needed that fits the site and context. 6. Remember the poetic and mysterious side. That is as important as the rational.
I've found that writing has been super helpful for me and I wish I did more in my undergrad. There is always clutter in my head that I need to get out by writing my thoughts, feelings, and ideas. I have an infinite google doc and a journal with randomness
well, I found the beginning interesting, I'm a concept artist and I like to look at architecture for reference, so it seems like looking at otter fields is a universal source of inspiration
It's not so much that any great secrets were revealed but your enormously likeable openness to inspiration from non-architectural realities and, most importantly, personal interests that make your message so fresh and relevant--and indeed helpful--for anyone looking to thinking creatively. I enjoyed your presentation tremendously. Good Job!
That was quite a relatable content! Personally I find design inspirations from site elements and context, and sometimes even from Exhibitions and Installations of varied Artists, the Conceptual process is always quite intriguing for me.
My inspiration governed by zoning bylaw amendments and other site settlement conditions and the client's construction budget and timeline and the teamwork of the consultants?
