This mic is also available for the Astro A40. However, I've seen some reviewers say that it sounds literally the exact same as the current mic and after hearing the difference, it's damn near identical. It's a shame really.
@@TheProvokedPrawn The G Pro has settings to change though which make it better. There are no settings within the Astro Command Centre for the Blue Mic. If they added something to take advantage of the Blue Mic for Astro then it would be better, currently it's the exact same lol.
It only recommends not using both nVidia noise reduction AND Blue Voice noice reduction. Just uncheck one of them. No need to exclude all of blue voice if you wanna use nVidia broadcast.
It doesn't sound too far off from the original and definitely not better than a stand alone mic. I wouldn't invest my money into the blue icepop. Use that money to buy a standalone mic!
I don't think the problem is the mic itself. Maybe it is the wireless connection. G Pro x non wireless version has a better sounding mic, and its the same as the Wireless one.
i got my wired one today and the mic is acting horrible and the audio in general is tinny and robotic. Im having serious issues trying to make it work lol
@@aaronspayth8813 supposedly there's a problem with the bitrate in windows being set by default to the minimum value. According to what I've found if you go into the advanced properties for the mic and turn it up to the max rate it sounds fine.
if you cant hear the difference between these 2 comparisons, you will never head a difference apart from volume, the raw sound comparison is worlds apart in terms of quality, the original sounds like the voice is moving through a bag of chips, its clearly distorted and has a certain radio crackle quality to it, where the blue mic upgrade sounds much more round and focused, it has much more warmth and girth to it. sounds much better, i use the gprox2 without ghub, as i want to force stereo 2.0 and use equalizer apo. have you got any recommendations for this prawn? to be fair i have a sm7b on a stand next to me and really should just use that, but sometimes i dont want it accross my fov and just use the headset. at the end of the day, i dont even have to listen to the sound so probably not even worth spending money on xD
You know, I am not all that happy with the mic quality of either one of them, kind of still sounds like mics from 2016, picking up background noise, the static sound around the voice and whatnot. I had a desk mic before I got this headset, a Samson Q2U, which sounds amazing for what it is, and with only a little bit of tweaking in Voicemod, a software I use for mics and sounds, it sounded so good... now I have this headset and gave away that desk mic, and now stuck with a worse product, at least in mic quality, because sound at least is quite amazing I can't knock that at all. However, that being said, along with using the G Hub settings, and Voicemod, I have my mic, the one that came with the headset, sounding really good, not as good as that Samson Q2U mic, but close enough that I am more then happy with it, because I wanted a headset for years that had a good mic, and I still don't, at least without heavy software modification to get it to sound as good as it can get. G Hub is honestly limited in what you can get, some settings but not enough. I want to make this clear I have the Lightspeed version, wireless, 2.4ghz, so they were a little more pricey. Anyways, I have tweaked the settings the best I could on the G Hub, and I really don't know what all the settings really do, I just side things around in different orders until I start getting a really good sound, mainly from the EQ. The best still leaves static when you talk, not something you can sort of ignore, and picks up background noice somewhat easily, because I have to crank the gain up to almost max to get the mic to stop not recognizing my quiet voice, or suddenly drop when in the middle of saying something and trying not to be loud, or pick up my voice straight away rather then pick it up after I have already said a word and starting on the second word. Here is where Voicemod comes in. Voicemod has a lot of voice changes and soundboards, but one of the voice changes is a voice enhancer, and has some settings to tweak, and straight away once you start using it, all that static around the voice and background noise, mostly disappears, on top of making your voice sound more clear then it did. I find the mic is heavy in mid tone and base, but lacks the highs which makes your voice sound like an Xbox mic, rather then a mic from 2020 or late 2019, whenever the damn headset was released. So in G Hub and Voicemod, I have both EQ's set to have real low mid, low-ish base/low end, and a sort of cranked high end. G hub I have have the low end and high end have wide channels, where the mid is virtually as thin as it gets, and in Voicemod with mid lowered to almost as low as it gets, base lowered slightly, and treble rolled up to half, with voice volume down to about 20% to compensate for the cranked gain, it makes your voice sound really good. It is still clear you are on a headset, but a really good headset despite the amount of software bullcrap you have to go through just to get a good sounding mic. It isn't perfect, some of the S's are kind of bad, but not as bad as in this video that is for sure, but overall I can't complain. I already had Voicemod for a few years, paid lifetime license which isn't all that expensive really, or it wasn't when I got it, and I tell you, other then the ability to use a voice changer, or soundboards, and other cool things, the Voice Enhancer is absolutely clutch, and Voicemod has a background noise limiter which works really well, been using that with my Samson Q2U desk mic, and using speakers to play games and talk with friends, and they hardly hear a thing through the mic because the background noise suppression is just that good without killing voice quality in the process. I very much recommend people trying that out over spending $50+ on a mic that doesn't even sound all that much better, actually sounds a little worse as it seems to be heavy on the low end and mid and low on the high end, and really need to crank the high end to get a good sound, and by that time, any S sound will rupture anyone's ear drums who is unfortunate enough to be listening...
I still find the Corsair Virtuoso XT mic to sound better. Less nasal and when wired it is almost as good as my old AT2020 USB+ with only minor differences. Throw on top of that a free real time equalizer like Equalizer APO with PEACE gui and the mic transforms to something even better.
It does sound like that because of the Noise reduction. While it's a great feature, it does "damage" your voice quite a lot imo. I never use it for that reason. Voice quality will always be better without it
How is the noise cancellation? I heard it has noise isolation. I wanted to buy steel series arctis nova pro, but heard it’s very uncomfortable for your ears and they break easily. Had hyper x clouds 2 for 2 years and sound is not accurate aswell, I have some white and senheisser headphones, but they won’t do for gaming. Not sure which ones to take.
