Microsoft needs to do a deal with Dolby, so that Dolby Atmos is automatically included with the Series X/S. You shouldn’t have to subscribe to the app.
They do have a deal with Dolby, When I bought the New wireless headset that Xbox came out with last year, it came with free Dolby atmos
One time but
Windows Sonic isn't bad.
One time buy 19.99 or less
I been purchased it.
Get dts x
You only need to pay if connecting 3rd party headphones.
@@happyspaceinvader508I have an xbox headset and I still need to pay
FYI You only need to purchase the capability for Dolby Atmos if you're using a headset. Downloading the app and using it with reciever and sound system is free and outputs Atmos. Take care out there! ✌️
So I can just have it installed and it will work?
This will upmix the Xbox one games too?
sadly i only play with headset on
@@radicallarry1006 Yup, Atmos will work after you download their app provided you have a receiver + sound system or possibly just a sound bar (not sure as I don’t own one) that are all Atmos Capable. Atmos Headset use requires a fee through the app
@@marklindsey6175 thanks
Nothing beats having actual separate speakers for surround sound. I’ve listened to several different sound bars that claim to reflect sound off the walls, but it’s just not the same. Ditto for the official MS headset that claims to give Dolby Atmos but which is just using phasing tricks.
Definitely agree. Although height channels are not bad if they come with rear speakers
Rear speakers are a must 👌
Sadly Dolby atmos on my home theater gets a huge delay whn is coming from the XSX
Go through your settings and put it to have passthrough. And get an 8K HDMI cable from Amazon and use that to connect your sound system to the XBOX
@@txmade734 I would love to do that but I lose out on VRR and HDR and HDMI CEC
@@haydnlawton2771 hey same here, I just give it up. I use 7.1 that's it.
A subscription for my audio quality .. bruh
I'm deaf in one ear man I wish I knew how this sounded
😭😭😭
I use or purchased Dolby Atmos
Or DTS X is good too.
Works on headset or surround sound
Those 5.1 /7.1 settings only show if you manually change your device connection as HDMI... if you keep it as "automatic" it'll only show stereo uncompressed and Dolby Digital.
I have a 5.1 surround system and it will not show that option.
If I manually change it to hdmi, it will show, but this causes latency issues with button inputs and audio delay.
Uncompressed
Let your avr or etc decode ot into 5.1
@@nflisrigged1395 I have audio pass through on to receiver... Other than that, I don't know
I use Astro A40 Headset TR + MixAmp Pro TR and Dolby Atmos for headphones sounds great on the Xbox Series X 👍
Highly recommend the steel series arctis 7x. Sound great with the atmos app
Trash
Do you have to pay for Dolby Atmos with that headset?
@@justarandomguy8099 yes, you have to pay for it. I didn’t like the feel of these headphones. They create a suction on your ears and I don’t like that feeling. I really like the way to mic extends to you mouth(pause).
I also tried the Xbox wireless headset and they have that same suction feel to them. The mic was short and it picks up every noise in the background including button pressing smh. They sound much better to me.
But ultimately I went with RIG 800 pro hx wireless. They fit comfortably, no suction feel, long mic(pause) that doesn’t pick up background noise, and free Dolby atmos 🔥.
@@justarandomguy8099 it comes with a subscription
Great video I love to see and here about more games come thru
Team Xbox, what is preferred setting for atmos? should i use Xbox Wireless Headphone’s equaliser settings with Dolby Atmos for headphones enabled? Or equaliser should be kept neutral and let Dolby App control the sounds?
Nice job stealing that HardwareCanucks footage.
This channel always takes from others videos. Welcome to the internet.
Hardwarecanucks took it from here 😝
NFG.
Cry
7.1 sounds is what makes the Games sound better....
Sound is SO important for Xbox that TO THIS DAY (8/24/2023) There's STILL an awful sound delay whenever you use Dolby Atmos with a Soundbar. TO THIS DAY!
I thought I was crazy. I’ve noticed it too.
When launched the XSX detected my 7.1 Samsung soundbar but after a few system updates it no longer sees it as 5.1 or 7.1 which is very disappointing..
Set it from auto to HDMI

Why I only have two options in speaker audio ? I only have stereo and Dolby Digital
Bro same any fix?..
@@noahwhitehawk3405 Nope, after some research I found out that Microsoft deliberately remove most audio options on the series X, including the Bitstream out option, so you can only use all the audio features using the HDMI cable connected on your receiver and from the receiver to the TV or you connect the HDMI directly on your tv BUT the tv need to have the compatible audio options (most tvs for exemple don't have DTS support).
I love to watch movies so I would buy a dedicated 4k player anyway but what Microsoft did is just a really stupid decision in my opinion. PS5 for exemple still supporting the Bitstream option and is compatible with pretty much every sound spec.
New xboxs don't have a separate audio output, so everything goes through your hdmi. So you better have a good tv or hdmi audio splitter. You didn't hear it from me.
I noticed that when I put my Audio in Dolby or DTX. Some games do not support it so I have to keep changing it back to Dolby Digital. Also, when I try to play Netflix it won't work on Dolby, so I have to change it again. If not every game including backward compat games can output in Dolby, then what's even the point? Or am I going to keep changing the audio settings every time I change games?
bro can we use the equalizer in the xbox accessories app for any headset ?
Pity the new Xbox did away with the SPDIF connection to my soundbar..
People don´t forget that Deathloop, will be realease on XBOX Series X tomorrow.
I opened my series x but didn't find any ears inside, this video is misleading.
Dolby has been broken on Series X for a long time, there is a couple seconds delay with dolby specially noticable in Forza Horizon 5
My problem is my xb1 controller I was using on series x crapped out. Now all my audio comes through on series x controller headset(same headset) does anyone know how to only have the chat audio on headset?
What if you’re on an Xbox series S with a small monitor and headphones?
How did you get dtsx option on hdmi sound output?
is sonar ever coming to xbox? and why should i have to pay for better audio quality
Dts x sounds better for me. But overall it is similar to dolby atmos
The voices of characters sound very tinny with DTS X. Do you know how to fix it?.
@@infinitysynthesis try some different presets, with my cloudx flightx i use the sennheiser650 HD preset. What i like in dtsx more is the soindstage, it sounds bigger and less dry than atmos
Ty guys
Crackle….crackle….
Who is here from google
Too bad Atmos is still broken. Playing Assassin's Creed origins.. sometimes it's Dolby Atmos, and sometimes it's not...I see more games without it than with
Cheerio m8!
Who sits an plays a game with speakers haha. Its either headset or just Tv. Come on
Many people actually
All that tech for sound but if you use wired headphones you still have to plug in the controller which makes it almost worthless.
Do you reply?
Xbox series x gets a massive thumbs down for making it so annoying to connect external speakers why do I have to buy 2 hdmi cables and a splitter just to get external sound, an F in my books. Xbox s had more options another tale of new things being worse. Ok rant over
When i was on the xbox one s out of no where the audio worked great and i can tell exactly where sounds are coming from now im on the series s and i cant tell where sounds are coming from anymore what do i need to do to get that back? i have wireless stealth 600s gen1

Hello
Yo
🦕 🦖
Don't get a sound bar ughhhhhhh
AVR reciver or headset
LG makes amazing TV speakers
Atmos build in .
And the Dolby Atmos on xbox is a one time purchase
Then you got it for life, and on pc
Lol
Wouldn't say 1 time purchase. I bought dolby and dtsx on my 1st series x, and now that I have my 2nd one, I don't have it on either console. Somehow lost the license if that's possible.
@@98ek9 Did u make second Xbox account/profile ?
@@maciejsulikowski7038 never. Been using the same for 15 years
So looks like when using the headset it finds the dolby license, but that could be because the Xbox headset came with it. The dtsx license is gone. Still tells me to spend the money.
Cos you've gotta have good sounds settings for ALL those games you've got to play hey 😂😂😂
Xbox dashboard sucks interface icons disgraceful interface when are you going to do it I want the wallpaper of the games and I want to see the icons are blocking the way It would be nice if it was like a PlayStation 5
Microsoft buying all these studios but there is still no reason to buy an Xbox. halo is a disappointment and gears came out for ever ago. is there ever going to be a reason to buy an xbox?
Yeah Gamepass, and they're working on a bunch of exclusives + Starfield :D
You must be a ps fanboy
Gamepass - check.
why are you here then? 🤣
Gamepass. I haven’t had to buy any games for the Xbox Series X… just a Gamepass subscription. With that comes more games than I could possibly play, including classics from Xbox 360 and original Xbox era.
