I loved his performance in this film. He was relentlessly spiteful and abrupt. There was no charming, fooling or manipulating him. He was on to Oliver throughout. The only way he could be dispatched was by foul means.
@@ewarrior9776 I hadn’t thought of that. I’m glad. Even though he was ruthless, I didn’t like that his survival was reliant on the handouts from the family.
Although I do find it funny because, although farleigh didnt die, he was the most like oliver, as in, he was also an imposter pretending to be apart of the family. Maybe oliver didnt kill him because he wasnt rich, he wasnt what oliver wanted to be..@@TomRipley7350
@@grum4362Farleigh wasn’t an imposter and he never pretended to be the part of the family because he’s family. He loved his two families, he’s a true character. His white mom is James’ sister and James is Farleigh’s uncle. Farleigh’s dad is black. Get his bio and family tree checked! You’re right, Farleigh was revealed to be poor after all this time.
That “behave” bed scene was so alluring, yet borderline terrifying. If Barry did that to me, I’d probably hand over ownership of myself then and there 👍 no questions asked
What a gorgeous, very talented young actor. Now that I’ve seen him as himself in interviews, it just strengthens what a fantastic job he did as Farleigh in Saltburn and how well cast the film is. Brilliant. I’ll be watching the film again. It’s so macabre, thought provoking and darkly funny and refreshing.
I’m quite impressed with his acting ability. He’s very talented.. This character in Saltburn he played spot on- so brilliant. He made the character come alive. Bravo 👏
From my personal perspective- all the actors were brilliant - Yet- something unique about Archie’s performance is- he made his character come so alive .. that the audience saw him as real.. then you care about the character & feel emotional & compassionate for Farleigh… Brilliant acting - making that character truly realistic- come alive… Bravo 👏 You have passion for the character you’re playing.. It’s a true gift !! 👏 Bravo 😉
LOVE this interviewer, great questions! Love the discussion, especially what we find out about about Emerald Fennell adapting the script and going there with Oliver/Farleigh scene because I think few writers/directors would do that in a story that poses the main dynamic between Oliver and Felix. LOVED IT. So wonderful and rich.
Just recently watched it and while I didn’t like the film as a whole his performance was one of my favorite part of the film especially the lunch table scene. In fact I truly believe the film should’ve been more centered around his character or at least be like the favourite and all about eve. He was truly outstanding to me as farleigh
I felt like his character was quite 2 dimensional in the beginning but rly came alive later, idk why but I get the feeling it was all just Archie. He took that kid and made him so complex and likeable, Im convinced his interpretation and pure charisma and screen presence is what made emrald flesh him out, she saw the potential and ran with it, how much of his stuff was added later on kind of speaks to that :D
Interesting that some scenes grew out of rehearsals. Those changes could only happen on set. Novelists do this all the time as they stray from the initial outline. Barry method sounds like the stories I've heard about Peter Lorre, who was supposedly a great improviser.
@@jorb1903indeed he did live… and it’s nagged at me that Farleigh’s mother and Farleigh were the last living Cattons. Wouldn’t they be the blood heirs to Saltburn?
@@AssHamburger8 Right. But I do believe that if Farleigh did a little poking around he could made a case for ownership due to the entire family being killed by Oliver. It's just a theory. Especially if he contacted Duncan for info... just saying...
It's nuts that he was in Midsommer and Beau is Afraid and it took this part for him to grab my attention. That sweet, angelic smile, with that seething vitriol can be described only as a Gemini.
In a comedy of people aping British upper-class manners, I will be SO disappointed if no Jimothy jokes are worked in, no references to "eating healthy meals" or "dirty bass."

Anyone else who loves Farleigh's costumes? It's so aesthetically pleasing.
He is aesthetically pleasing in general.

He said in an interview that they are all Gucci and that he kept them all. I believe the first part, not sure about the second.

Thank You Collider & Archie. Justice For Farleigh Start! ❤️❤️❤️
He was so fantastic in this movie i had to immediately look him up. Great job man!
Promising young actor. Knows his craft well for sure.
I loved his American accent and his screen presence. I love him ❤
Saltburn is one of those movies where you have to watch it at least twice to actually process everything that happened.
I can't watch it twice 😭
It wasn't even that bad😭
No once was enough for me. It's disgusting and uncomfortable. I don't enjoy watching evil wins movies.
Me neither. @@ezekilver3292

This interviewer is great. She asks unusually intelligent questions.
Wow these were great questions. I appreciated the interviewer letting Archie just get allllll the answer out. Great interview.
He has such a sweet face, very cherubic and alluring but the eyes are a betrayal. I actively disliked his character but couldn’t take my eyes off him.
He’s so beautiful
Great questions asked! love Archie so much can't wait to see more of his work in the future.
Now I want to see the Eton book. Got to see the Eton boy in the Gucci loafers who inspired Archie to bring Farleigh's style to life! 😊
