This is an extremely well done piece. When our class (1961) began 1st grade in Sacred Heart School in 1949 classes for 1st and 2nd grade were conducted in Brent Hall ; thereafter moving to the former McDonaugh building in the 3rd grade, we then moved to the new Archbishop Neale school for the 4th grade in 1952. We had a four- and one-half month summer vacation as the new school was built. That's how long it took to build the new school. The involvement of the entire town of La Plata in the re construction in 2002 was extremely commendable.

I remember that day and probably won’t ever forget it. I was a county medic and on my way into work when it hit. What a great video. I didn’t know about the early history of the school. Great video 👍🏼

Oh, wow. That photo at 04:18 is all of my teachers. Let me think. Barbara Griffis. Her son, Matthew, was in my grade. His brother, Geoffrey, was a bit younger. Miss Edelen was the music teacher. Her daughter, Lexy, attended the class a year ahead of mine. Carolyn Buffington. Her daughter, Karen , was in my class. Sr. Ann Parker, who must be a saint, because she survived me. Sr. Mary Leon. Misses LeSage. He children, Keith, Kevin, and Mark, all attended. I don't recognize Angela Hume or Sr. Kathryn Clauss in the photo but they were part of this faculty. I am positive I am forgetting some of the names. My memory is not what it used to be.
